This is a review for the park attached to the community center. We came here because we were exploring all the PG Parks Imagination Playgrounds. Unfortunately, this park has not been maintained well. Many of the other parks on the list. Still look new and taken care of. That is not the case here. Also, this is not a great park for children under five. Nice playground. Plenty of parking, shade, tons of swings, and lots of interesting equipment for kids to explore. One of PG County's Imagination Playgrounds, this one is called "Ocean Voyage Playground." read more

This place is a hidden gem-- their pottery studio is one of the best-kept secrets in the DMV. Just $220 for 8 weeks, and you only pay for clay ($20 bucks a block and you recycle it yourself). They fire at cone 6 in an electric kiln, have approx. 30 + bright, gorgeous glazes, and all the under glazes you could want, free of charge. The studio hours, while recently cut, are still easily the most generous in the area-- all day each day of the week (except class hours) and 10-3 Saturday, and 12-4 on Sunday. It's a relatively small space but never overcrowded. What really makes it great is the community. The people who manage the studio are life-long potters and really know their stuff, and are wonderful instructors. The students are all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. A great bargain and probably my favorite place to be. read more
