I really enjoyed this spot! I love trying new foods and wanted something traditional South Asian cuisine. Customer service was very nice and fast. Seemed to be family owned. No issues with ordering at all. We were given some house favorites as recommendations and ultimately went with the butter chicken, jasmine rice, yellow curry noodles and the mini samosas. Everything was hot and smelled great. The yellow curry was very spicy but manageable and nothing crazy. Butter chicken was very good. Mostly because of the sauce. I do think the chicken was very condensed and cube like almost manufactured. I doubt it would taste good without the sauce on it. I'd like to see actual chicken in it next time. To go packaging was very nice and they even seran wrapped everything so nothing spilled on the way home. This restaurant is off the beaten path and quite a ways away from any major highway/freeway. That should not deter you from make the trek to enjoy an amazing meal. With ample spacing and tables, you'll surely find a a place to sit with any number of guests in your party and order at the front desk. We started off with a mango lassi and mini potato samosas for the table. Those savory samosas came out hot and ready to be eaten and it was so. We followed up with Fish Fry, Bombay Karahi, Chicken Tikka Masala, Ginger Chicken, and Palak Paneer served with a side of rice and two orders of garlic naan. I was looking for a new pakistani restaurant in the Houston area and found this one on my way back home. Although the area and the interior of this restaurant is no frills, dont let that fool you. The food is pretty good and was not nearly as spicy as I was originally thinking it may be. I tried the beef nihari, which is the first entree on the back side of the menu, also the goat curry, and butter chicken. I also added garlic naan. Soft drinks are in a can or bottle, as they do not have a soda fountain here. Beef nihari - this was like a stewed pot roast. It is cooked with fat and sits in a lot of oil. I am thinking you receive about 1/4 lb of meat, if that in the dish. I likes the slivers of ginger in this. Goat curry - this also has slivers of ginger and to me it seemed a bit spicier than the nihari. In contrast, you receive much more goat meat which comes in tender chunks. I am thinking I would order this dish again for sure. Butter chicken - this was my least favorite dish. The white meat chicken was too dry and most noticeably the curry was just too salty. I've had many better in the Houston area, so wouldn't order this dish again. Service is ok, but don't expect to be waited on after ordering. read more

We went on a 3 course meal food tour and visited 3 new places. Our 2nd stop was Larosh for entrees. We were greeted right away by a very friendly man named Nasir. We stated that we were first time visitors and took his suggestions on what to order. He mentioned how everything is made fresh to order so it would take some time. He was right, you can definitely taste the freshness in the dishes. Typically with traditional Indian curry you have a very pungent taste/smell if the ingredients are not fresh or the protein is not cooked to order... basically the longer that it sits already cooked the stronger it gets. By the taste of all of our food none of it had been premade with the exception of maybe the rice but it was fresh for the day at least and not leftover from previous days. The Shrimp Masala with the spicy sauteed tomato and fresh herbs curry was amazing. The shrimp itself was fresh, cooked to perfection and did not have a refrigerated old flavor at all. The Bombay Karahi is prepared and served in a karahi, a type of wok often used in South Asian cooking. Not only was the presentation beautifully executed but the aroma steaming from it as the food was placed on the table made our mouth water. The chicken breast pieces blended well with the ginger and spices gravy type of sauce. It had a very buttery silky taste that was not overpowering at all by the ginger which is something you are accustomed to when trying a ginger infused dish. The basmati rice was nothing special or out of the ordinary but paired very well with our protein dishes and non the less was cooked well. It was fluffy and tender, not sticky. You could tell they used a bit of turmeric for the added effect of the coloring mixed with the toasted fennel seeds was a nice touch as well. Garlic Naan was warm, fresh and had a semi crispy exterior followed by a fluffy airy interior. It was lightly brushed with what seemed like a melted garlic/butter oil and topped with chopped cilantro. I also ordered a chai tea (not pictured). Absolutely delicious. With main chain restaurants you get the chai tea that is made in bulk meaning it will sit there all day and burn itself, making for a biter tasting tea. This was a fresh cup.. made one at a time. The boiling of the black tea in the milk, water, herbs and spices does take a bit of time, so be patient. You won't be disappointed. Nasir (who we later found out was the owner/chef) took time to speak with us about his culture, years of culinary experimentation and love of creating fresh and amazing dishes. We will 100% absolutely come back and explore more of the freshness. read more

While my work took me near here today, I gave myself try on this restaurant and that was a good decision! :) I ordered three things, cheese stuff, fried rice and garlic bread/nan? Listen, I love the tikka masala but it is very greasy. The naan is hit or miss... sometimes they burn it. The reason for the one star... I've now seen roaches in the restaurant on two different occasions. The only reason I went back after seeing the first roach was because it was heading out the front door LOL I was like... maybe it got lost and ended up in here by accident. But today, I went to get my to-go order and there was a roach crawling on the front counter. Very disappointed because I do not hate the food. I told them that's fine but I wanted 8 because the 8 piece was the same price as the aloo samosa that I ordered. He argued with me and said that they weren't the same and that it was a 50 cent difference. And I said whatever I'll pay the difference and he said that he couldn't charge me it over the phone. And do you know what I got?? Only 6 minis. Not only did I not get what I wanted but they short changed me and were also quite rude on the phone. Came in for our first time to try and were frankly not impressed. Ordered the Chole Chaat, 2 plain naan, paneer tikka masala and Mix vege. Had asked yogurt to be put on the side but they had mixed it. So we let them know, and they were able to give it on the side separated from the Chaat. Chole Chaat's red sauce was tooo spicy! We are used to having sweet tamarind chutney in Chaat but this didn't have it. Also the presentation of the whole ensemble didn't look too appetizing or pleasing to the eye. I live just down the road from this place, but I've never once ordered from here before. Big mistake. This place is absolutely delicious. My partner and I both got the chicken tikka masala and the sauce was absolutely wonderful. I do wish it was spicy. I kind of wish they had the option to make it extra extra spicy. We also got their plain rice with our meals and it was amazing. They cooked the rice with whole cumin seeds, and bay leaves. Which gave the rice a delicious aroma. Initially upon entering to pick up my order I was not greeted but more frowned upon since I mentioned I was a few minutes early. The gentleman checked on my order and said he would have it out in 15-20 minutes which was no biggie. I checked in on Yelp and noticed a check in offer so I asked if I could redeem it as it was my 1st visit. I was told I could not unless I ordered through the Yelp app which I did not, I ordered directly from their website. Then I was told I received a $5 of coupon in my current order so I could not redeem the check in offer. It really was not a big deal but I pointed out the offer did not state such but I was totally ok with not getting the offer and went to sit back down. I want to mention even though they advertise a family deal on the website at $30 with a $5 off at checkout, it's the same $25 in the restaurant which I took a photo of. So in reality no discount, again no big deal. The price itself was a great deal so I was t complaining. The gentleman went to the back of the kitchen and came back a few minutes later with the check in offer (mango lassi). I wasn't expecting it and he again repeated I got a $5 discount from my online order already but he was giving me the drink anyway. Wasn't expecting but glad he made good on the advertised check in offer. After waiting a bit more we struck up a conversation and he was telling me about some specials they were having on other meals. I received my food a few minutes later and thank him for the mango lassi. I am only mentioning all of this because you can not get a 2nd 1st impression. I was not greeted when I walked in and instead of saying something as simple as let me look into this offer, I was give an unnecessary explanation only later to receive the very thing I requested. Instead of starting off with a negative, it should have started with a positive. Now to the food: I am half Pakistani and can be picky on south Asian food. I purchased the family pack so that I could a few different items. I got the chicken biryani, Daal, beef haleem and chicken boti. I also ordered the mini samosas and kheer. The chicken biryani was flavorful but not much chicken, mostly bones. The chicken boti likewise was flavorful but a bit dry The daal was very good and definitely a great vegetarian option. The beef haleem was average I have never had mini samosas but these were ok as well. I was actually to stuffed to even try the Kheer I ordered, will be giving it a shot tomorrow. My boyfriend is a little picky so he was apprehensive about trying some new cuisine but I've never steered him wrong so he trusted me. I don't know why, but we expected it to look like Asian takeout orange chicken however it was still really good! I got my butter chicken which was great! This place is a hidden gem. So far the best and authentic Karachi bun kabab. The buns are fresh and crispy like it use to be on road side Karachi style. the ratio of spices and green chutney with the kabab was perfect. I also ordered wings and they turned out to be extremely unique as well. This guy grill the wings and then put the Gail mayo sauce just like we use to have it at HotnSpicy in Karachi. This guy Muhammad Nasir was very friendly, as he took care of us even though it was kitchen closing time. My kids love nihari so I order the mix Paya Nihari, it turned to be very tasty as well. Overall I wasn't blown away. I was craving some tandoori chicken so I got the Boti. Overall it was good and flavorful. This might have been my favorite thing from the order. I ordered chicken biryani but I believe I got goat biryani. Either way the meat looked a little old/crispy in the biryani. The rice was very buttery. The mango lassi was different it seemed like a lot of artificial flavor, not fresh lassi. It didn't taste like mango pulp either so not sure what is used for the lassi. This place is set up for big groups to sit together. You order first and then sit and get your meal. The mango shake was delicious! The rice was delicious , the lamb was delicious I mean we ate like Kings and queens. They don't really wait on you like a typical restaurant but they are very friendly and nice . Every meal since then has been DELICIOUS and consistent in flavor and quantity. I have tried other places in the area but absolutely none reach the level of Larosh Grill. When I got home and started eating, I noticed 3 bones with little to no meat, and two small chunks of lamb. The rest was just broth. I called the restaurant because I felt cheated but it was closed. I called the next morning and a lady made note of my complaint, and said she'd have the manager or owner call back. Never happened. The restaurant is located in a little strip mall that's not overly populated, which makes for convenient parking. The inside of the restaurant is neat and spacious. My company and I ordered the chicken biryani, chicken tikka breast, naan, and aloo samosas. The chicken tikka and naan were fantastic, but everything else was just ok; so, I give the food 3 stars.
