A while back I made a huge mistake in hiring Teresa Neal's company to mud jack half of my 2 car…read moregarage floor (an area 9 x 18) and want to tell others of my experience so that they can beware of her company's work and know of her lack of personal integrity. Months prior to her company's work I had a different company do some concrete work for me (great job by the way) fixing a sinking FRONT driveway and a sinking REAR patio by jack hammering out and removing my old concrete, then back filling the low spots adjacent to my house foundation with additional soil and then pouring new concrete slabs. Keep in mind between these two previously "sinking", repaired concrete areas was my attached garage's floor. Since the garage floor had NOT yet began dropping (though the 4 feet of garage floor closest to the house's foundation sounded HOLLOW when I tapped it with a 4x4), I thought I'd save money by having the apparent under-floor cavity 'mudjacked' and filled up --verses-- ripped up, back filled with dirt, and re-poured with new concrete slabs. I regret that decision now! The men who did the job did it over a two day period. I was unemployed at the time and was looking for employment online and applying for jobs for hours on end sitting at a computer facing my street. I was home the whole time they were here and witnessed everything they did. I was very snoopy especially with me having expensive tools in my garage that they were working in, and watched them every time they went to their truck to make sure they weren't taking anything. I watched the large load of dirt in the 3/4 ton pickup truck bed slowly drop in height over the two days. It dropped very slowly. They have to mix concrete and water and dirt in the right ratio so to "pump it" slowly into the 1.5" diameter holes. I mean it was so slow at going into the floor that I thought at that rate, it would take them a week to get anything significantly in!!! Anyway, on day two, early-afternoon, I saw the men starting to "wrap it up" and washing stuff down and rolling up my garden hose. I wondered if they were going to lunch, or planning on leaving early and coming back the next day, or if that was it. They'd got there after 9 a.m. so they didn't get too much done that day compared to day one. Knowing they were about to leave, I wanted to see things up close and personal before they left, so I thought I'd quickly leave, go to QuikTrip 5 blocks away and get a soda, and be back in 5 minutes to talk with them. (My wife was home.) With them working in my garage I had to park my car on the other side of the driveway from their truck that had the dirt. On the way to my car I looked at the everything, walking RIGHT BY THEIR TRUCK, of which I went out of my way to really notice. It was now at about 50% of amount that they started with day one. Keep in mind they never left once they were at my home, and they never added dirt to the truck, not even over the night between day one and day two. No other truck came with more dirt (hey they were barely using what they had). So I KNOW the level of dirt in the truck as it was visually measurably over time. I was watching their truck remember? This is important in that Teresa bid this job based on the volume of mudjacking done. Being the cavity that they were going to fill was "hidden" she couldn't say how much mudjacking my project would require. So her bid was a dollar range... from a certain bid to double that bid. If they used a full truckload of dirt and the required concrete to go with it... I'd pay full price. If less ... then less. To my dismay, I got back in 5 minutes, but they were gone already. I checked the job, and it appeared they were totally done and not coming back. A week later, I got the bill... FOR FULL PRICE!!! It was almost as much as the bid I had had previously from the other company to totally remove the whole floor and backfill with dirt and re-pour new concrete!!! What's with that? I emailed Teresa and told her that the bill should be much less because they only used half the supplies. SHE TOLD ME, I WAS WRONG. HER GUYS USED A FULL TRUCKLOAD OF DIRT AND LOTS OF CONCRETE TO MIX WITH IT. HER MEN CAME BACK TO THE OFFICE WITH AN EMPTY PICKUP BED AND THAT HER PEOPLE "DON'T LIE" AND THAT I NEEDED TO PAY HER THE FULL AMOUNT AS I HAD AGREED TO!!!! So, according to Teresa the the truth is either: (1) it took them 11 hours to use 50% of the dirt but only 5 minutes (how long I was gone) to use the last 50%, (2) I am the one who is a "liar", or (3) the amount of dirt I thought I saw in the truck was only an illusion & I am crazy. She has insulted me and caused me to overpay. And now, a couple years later, I'm finding my outer garage wall foundations now settling, all of my garage floor starting to drop, and I will end up having everything tore up & re-poured in spite of their work. Beware!
