Hennessy Heating & Air Conditioning - It's was fixed and you can't even tell he had to go into the wall

I have never had any other company as quick and get everything fixed as fast as they do. They have fixed more than one thing in our home. To me the most important was the water going into the washing machine was leaking. They came out that day and fixed it

Worst customer service experience I've ever had…read more In July 2016 we had Rick come out to do an estimate for central air in our newly purchased home. He suggested a mini split system instead. Our only follow up question was "Will that be able to cool the entire main floor?" to which we were told "Oh yeah, no problem." After installation the rooms with the units were cooled sufficiently but that was it. When we purchased the home earlier that month we knew it had very old window. We assumed that this was a major art of the issue. Having never had this type of a/c before we assumed it was working properly. Summer of 2017 the ac was blowing hot air. We called Ricks and they sent a tech who informed us that a hose wasn't connected properly and it must have leaked out. They refilled the coolant and a few weeks later we received a bill even though they admitted installation error. We paid it. The rest of the summer the system performed as it had the previous year. Early June 2018 our daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer and we spent the entire summer living in hospitals. We did not use the system at all. 2019 was also mostly in hospitals. The system was used very rarely. The end of this summer we finally had our new windows installed. Now this summer (2020) in August the system was blowing warm air again. We called a different reputable contractor to come inspect the system. After inspecting the outdoor portion of the unit for less than one minute and then coming to the door the first thing he told us was that "I can tell you already that this system is not installed properly." They checked the rest of the indoor portion and told us they could install it properly but there was a chance the compressor was damaged from the bad install and it may not work properly. We received an estimate to install it properly and do a cleaning and recharge. We had a second contractor come out for a second opinion. They also arrived, looked at the outdoor unit, and then came in and asked if we had the manual. We did and we gave it to them. After a few minutes looking through the book we were told again that the system was installed incorrectly. They proceeded to explain exactly what the first company had told us along with some new things. This company waived the estimate fee because they felt bad for our situation. They also told us that they would not work on the system because it was possibly damaged from faulty install and did not want any backlash if they were to touch it. They recommended we call the original installer. So I did... I called Ricks cell phone. I explained that we had just had 2 contractors out to fix our system and they both told us is was installed incorrectly. Rick insisted that they were wrong and that he was sure it was installed correctly. I explained what they had told me and he persisted that it was installed correctly this time mentioning that he did not remember the job. I told him about a company refusing to work on it due to possible existing damage. Rick laughed. This went back and forth again and after being told that the system wouldn't work all this time and then suddenly not work i explained that it had apparently never worked properly. I was on my way to work so i didn't have time to get in to the details of the time framing. I told Rick about how the year after install they came out to recharge the system and the tech admitted faulty install of a hose and how I was charged anyway. He laughed again. The whole exchange he was very combative and rude. I was told that he didn't have time that week and he would try to make it next week ( this was on a Monday or Tuesday ). He asked for my name and address and hung up on me. I never heard from him again and he will not return my calls.

I originally posted a review about this situation, and after doing so, a "Todd" reached out to me…read moreand said they were going to come look at the damage and concerns we had. However, at the end of the phone call, I was asked to delete the review. Wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt and assuming they intended to make things right, I deleted the review immediately. Unfortunately, no one showed up on the day they said they would, nor the following day when they again stated they would come out. This has been a very disappointing experience, especially considering we were not even the customers -- the work being done was for our neighbor's property, not ours. Despite that, our yard and personal property were affected during the process. Trash was left throughout our yard after the job was completed, including cigarette butts left outside where our three children play. Personal property was also moved without our permission, including our trampoline and soccer net. Afterward, we discovered damage that was not there before -- a bent trampoline bar and a broken ground stake for the soccer net. On top of that, the condition of the yard after the digging work was unacceptable. The dirt was poorly leveled and left uneven, and grass along the side of our house was covered with gravel after they filled in the hole they dug. It's frustrating to have our property damaged and disrespected when we weren't even the homeowners hiring the company. Accidents can happen, but professionalism should include respecting surrounding properties, following through on promises, cleaning up properly, and taking accountability for damages caused during the job.

Once I accepted their quote they were able to order the equipment and start the install. The equipment took about two weeks to arrive and they were able to start the installation process right away. The overall time it took them to install the mini split system, which consisted of the outdoor unit and three indoor units, was three days. I was very surprised at how quick the equipment came in and how fast they were able to get it installed. The quality of the installation was excellent and they were able to run and install everything the way I envisioned. They also cleaned up very well after themselves. All the technicians were very knowledgeable about the system and were able to answer any questions that I asked them. The only negative thing I have to say about them is that they were not the best at keeping the customer up to date or giving them information about the system without the customer having to ask for it themselves. The negative comment is a personal one that I felt, but might not matter for other customers. I am just a person that likes to know what is going on and how to take care of proper maintenance tasks, so I am always asking questions. As long as the customer comes up with all questions beforehand to ask them about the system, then there will be no issue at all as they are extremely knowledgeable about their work. Overall I would give them 4.5 stars due to the lack of information given to me without having to ask for it. Going off of their installation alone gives them 5 stars and I would recommend them to anyone.
