The service was nice and quick for a Saturday morning. I ordered a veggie omelette with home fries and opted for a side pancake, instead of a biscuit or toast . The omelette was good, loaded with onions, green peppers, tomatoes and American cheese. The pancake was the best thing I ordered. It reminded of Cracker Barrel pancakes with a more homey feel. The home fries were blah. My partner gave their Country Ham omelette a 4 out of 5. I didn't see the cinnamon roll sign until we were exiting, maybe next time.

I love to relive my past Southern life when visiting and one way is to visit a great Meat and three and Larry's checks all the boxes! Five of us had lunch on a Friday and were lucky to snag a large roundtop table. We went on Friday because catfish as well as limas are on the menu. These places all look the same as if I had stepped back into my childhood. This one is spacious, the staff are seasoned and on it, the vibe is happy and of course FRIENDLY and the food was great. My lunch consisted of three nice sized fried perfectly catfish fillets, greens, limas, fried okra, hush puppies and unsweet (iced tea). Food was fantastic! Great experience. Unfortunately we were only in the area a short time but I will definitely go again if in the area. The breakfast menu looked great as well.

Such a down home field. The food quality is amazing. The price is great. And it taste amazing. I give them an A+. This is where the locals hang out.

Excellent breakfast!! Great atmosphere and it appears everyone knows everyone! So friendly in this stereotypical southern diner with great hospitality. Breakfast was great and the service was wonderful. If you are looking to eat in Springfield, you're crazy if you pass this place up! Highly recommend, I'll be back if in the area!

I love good Southern meat and threes. And I enjoy small towns and new discoveries. And Larry's is both of these. It told me something that I was meeting a friend here for lunch (she's the local), and wandering through the rather large dining rooms in search of her, I met Larry within about 3 minutes. The proverbial "How can I help ya, darlin'? Who ya lookin' for?" and we were already friends. At Larry's, you can sit down at a booth or table and a waitress will bring you a menu with the daily specials, or you can speed things up a bit and walk thru the cafeteria-style line yourself so you can see everything on tap that day. We opted to cafeteria-it so we could scope out that yumminess. In an unusual turn for me, my dining companion and I both opted for veggie plates. It's not that the barbecue chicken dripping in sauce didn't look good or the fried fish didn't smell awesome, just seemed like that kind of day to me. She had fried squash, fried okra, and greens - I opted for green beans, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. OK, look. I've been low-carbing it for a long time, so when in Rome... don't judge me. We both opted for cornbread instead of rolls. Before I get to the nitty gritty of the food, let me also say that I was treating my friend to lunch, and our two veggie plates with bread and one iced tea came to a combined total of $10.25. I stopped and made sure the cashier had rung both of us up thinking that couldn't be right, but it was. Buddy loved her fried squash, I was jealous I hadn't picked it, and claims their okra is also top notch. I don't do okra, and I try to judge meat and threes to some degree by their mashed potatoes so had to try that. Well, my veggies were OK, but not the fabulous-ness I was hoping for on par with say Arnold's in Nashville or even Pie Wagon. The macaroni and potatoes both needed salt, and neither was all that. The green beans were good, and the company was nice. The cornbread - oh my gosh the cornbread. Now the cornbread... that was worth the trip to Springfield by itself. Ever so slightly sweet, perfectly brown, moist yet still very much cornbread muffins. Yum. I ate two. And thought about going back, seriously. I figured if I skipped on some of my potatoes would that be allowed? The desserts looked really tasty, quintessential chocolate meringue pie, pecan, lemon icebox... all that wonderful stuff you'd expect in a small town meat and three. I can't attest to their taste, but I'm betting they're not a bad option if your caloric intact will allow. My dining companion proclaimed that their breakfast is really their calling card. If your schedule works out to be here in the mornings, don't miss it. In a rather surprising turn, I also noticed they have a drive thru. That's awesome - meatloaf, fried catfish, veggies, etc. all in the drive thru lane. We need that in Franklin! The outside of this building looks like a big ol' log cabin, but that's not carried over inside. Nothing fancy about the place, and that includes the price - so I'd vote give 'em a try.

Cute huh? Our table of 7 women ordered a variety of brunch sandwiches and biscuits. While everyone enjoyed their meals, I can only give specifics on what I ordered. I had the Mr. Croissant with home fries, and because I wanted to try the biscuits, I also added a biscuit with honey and butter to my order. The croissant and biscuit were great. Next time, I'd give a miss to the included home fries and opt for the fruit instead. My vanilla bean latte was very good and my friend loved her mocha. To celebrate the Birthday Girl, we ordered two bottles of champagne and two flights of juices to make mimosas. We all took homemade strawberry pop tarts to go. We loved the vibe, service, and food and will happily return the next time we are in Nashville!

Which is fine because we are all grown ups but it is not a good look to overtly cuss loudly as other customers, right or wrong, might get offended. Conservative town so kind of read your room type of stuff. Then the other cook came in replacing the current one and he looked like, and I say this with as much consternation as one can, he literally got kicked out of a moving vehicle. Which is fine too since who am I to state what is right for a person to look like so whatever. He then proceeds to loudly announce (redundant but I have to use it for emphasis) that he has great news because his car was fixed. Did I mention it was awkwardly loud? Like middle of a movie in theatre shouting loud. Anywho, there were a couple workers in there busting their tail so it was not all that bad but just a weird, awkward, and disconcerting experience. I miss my Spring Hill WH where Frank the Tank ran a ship-shape store.

For starters, the city's natural party scene requires two things: fatty food and hangover remedies. Biscuit love serves both in one package, from buttery dishes to gravies that sooth that hangover better than any detox juice ever could. The second thing that firmly embeds Biscuit Love into its location is the biscuit. Coming to the south and not trying this phenomenal delicacy should be borderline illegal. And, Biscuit Love, perhaps, just perhaps, makes the best biscuits to be had out there. That is a dangerous thing to admit, but their unique texture of borderline croissant-ish layering of dough makes these biscuits dangerously delicate. They aren't those classic crumbly dry ones one many southerners are used to, but rather a revolution into what a biscuit should be. Lastly, Nashville's love for fried chicken and hot chicken is the other reason to come here. Well brined, perfectly crispy chicken at Biscuit Love is spectacular in every way that it should be and will wipe off that hangover from the face of the earth in minutes.

For our entree we split the East Nasty (buttermilk biscuit, topped with chicken tenders, buttermilk white cheddar cheese, bear creek sausage gravy and we added an egg). The biscuit was good but needed a little more gravy. I also used hot sauce as I wanted a bit more of a kick with my biscuit. I tried to swing by around ten minutes to noon, but it was a disaster. There were heaps of people waiting outside, and it didn't look promising. I went to the hostess stand and asked the guy if I could get a table for one, and he said, "Oh, you can sit at the bar; it's open seating. There's one open seat right there!" So, I walked through and was approached by another worker who asked me what I was doing. I told her the guy said I could sit at the bar, and there was an open seat, even though I never saw one. I did see open seats outside at the bar, though. The bar has two sides, one outside and one inside. It seemed alright; it wasn't too hot or humid, so I went. There were dirty dishes all over the place, and I sat down. Another worker asked me, "Are these dishes yours?" Which seemed a bit strange because the guy works the bar and wouldn't he have known the person sitting there before me left them? Anyway, I said no, and he cleared them. I then waited about 5 minutes before another worker skillfully wiped the bar of debris and then got three menus and three sets of silverware (two more guys sat down next to me) and asked me if I wanted water. I said, "Yes, please." She went off, and then shortly after, I saw the same guy come with a menu and a set of silverware and a water. Thumbs up for the water but thumb down for the slowness. I saw the menu and was torn between pancakes and biscuits. I didn't really want anything heavy, so I got the biscuits and gravy but added an egg. I also got a coffee. The wait time for the food was super quick, and the food was really good. The biscuits are small, and they're okay. The egg was good, but it's kinda hard to mess up an egg. I saw the food the people sitting next to me got, and it looked amazing! Pancakes, etc. Overall, the service was pretty bad, but the food was good. I saw no sense of urgency in the workers when they were obviously swamped. I might come when it's not so busy next time. Side note, maybe I'm showing my age, but the price of regular drip coffee was a bit steep. ($4).
