I returned to the Philippines after sometime bringing both my adult daughters visiting the Philippines for the first time. My lovely family decided to bring us to Las Casas de Acuzar. The journey to this place is abt a 3hr drive from Manila. We had advance reservations made and when we arrived we were greeted very warmly with amazing hospitality from the staff. The surroundings is beautiful and breathtaking. The property itself is massive. I love how it is rich in history, culture and architectures that has been preserved through the years and very well maintained. They have put so much thought and planning to this place and it is impressive. We enjoyed our tour, stay and dinning to the fullest! I cannot even explain how wonderful our experience here enough. Tourist spot in Luzon located in Bataan Philippines. A place where you can find a lot of ancestral house around the Philippines bought by the owner named Mr Acuzar and put them all in one place some were as it was and some were renovated. Inside transpo are jeepneys,horses,carjuaje,boats,,atv,tramvia etc by night when sun is out a lot of expectators walk around to see the grandeour of the place. Entrance is about $75Cnd per head on week ends and a bit cheaper for week days for a day tour that includes your meal for lunch,the meal is just okay dont expect a lot.The fee also includes unlimited used of all the transpo.overnight and more stay is different rates. 4 or 5 selected houses are included in the tour,group tour with tourist guide with knowledge of history and all those house better than an encyclopedia. Surrounded by ocean,manmade lake and near mountains this place is indeed breath taking. Day tour and overnight stay is available those old houses some of them were converted to a hotel. Most ground floor of most houses are air conditioned and you never run out of things to do,billiard etc body masaage is available as well. Washroom were all immaculately clean. There's souvenir shops,bar etc . Designated smoking area as well,pet friendly except some spots.Catholic church can be found inside the premises. We had an all day tour here, including a boat ride and lunch. We toured houses that were built in 1700, beautifully built. The grounds are spectacular and the artwork well worth looking at. We especially loved the church with all the inlay on the floor, and the carvings on the doors . Lunch was included but was very poor. read more

Attended my cousin's wedding here. The outdoor wedding reception was fabulous ...from the table set-up, dance floor area, lighting, and buffet island. From the pre-wedding photo shoot to the Church ceremony to the reception, Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar is a perfect place to do it all. Including some vacation time. The area itself is picturesque with historical (Spanish-Filipino style) architecture, vibrant landscaping, a lake and beach! I did feel like being in an old Manila town, and the Jeepney rides were a definite plus! Room rates were on the steep side ...for rooms with high ceilings, a small TV, and minimal storage. At least the bathrooms were built for royalty. And glad that breakfast was included. I wouldn't mind coming back, especially if they continue to build more ...perhaps more restaurants, bars, and shops. read more

More Cons than Pros when we stayed for three days and 2 nights (12/26/24 to 12/28/24) Pros: Beautiful facade, nice beach. Lots of photo opportunities. Con #1: When we got there at check in time, our room was not ready... we finally got a call that our room was ready at 5pm. So we went back to the reception area, to check in officially... when we got to the room it was disappointing... a standard room at a holiday inn express looks so much better! Then at 6, in the middle of dinner, we got another call from the front desk saying that we were given the wrong room. So We cut our dinner short and was like "Ok, maybe the premium room we booked would look better." However, when we went back to our room so they can move us, we waited for 30 mins but no one came. We called them and they said to keep waiting, but an hour past and we were still waiting... called again, they said someone was on their way... 2 hours later we were finally moved to our premium room... BUT, to my disappointment, it did not look any different than the first one. We let them know they cheated us hours into our reservation since we didnt get to maximize the beginning of our check-in and stay, and they told us to write a letter. No effort to make it right at all... i dont blame the employees as they are probably just doing what management tells them to do. Con #2: It was obvious that the whole facility is still a work in progress, but the "work" in progress I hope should also include upkeep. The water in the shower takes a long time to warm up and the fixtures in the bathroom are falling apart. Breakfast buffet was meh... like sautéed cabbage, and sauteed canned tuna with onions as part of a buffet line up? What is that?!? Con #3: You can freely roam around and see some of the houses that are still being renovated.... BUT, it is a safety hazard. There's no caution tape, and no warning signs. So be careful when u roam around the houses with your little ones. All in all, the place is overrated, and I wont really recommend staying the night.... while the day tour is also pricey, it would do if social media pics is what you're looking for. A repeat visit is not something I foresee though.... employee hospitality is one of a kind because Filipino hospitality is unparalleled.... but until they offer more of an experience (especially for the price they charge) versus just the facade, i don't foresee a repeat visit. For the price they charge to stay, I expected so much more! Even to convert it to foreign currency, the place is expensive, however, i dont think the vision is living up to what they offer. You can find better looking places to stay with same quality beaches nearby but minus the ridiculous price tag. read more

Pros: Beautiful concept of rebuilding sections of old Manila. Staff are very helpful, well trained, and friendly. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Place is very accommodating to older people who need assistance. Cons: Things are falling apart already. Maybe a construction issue. Bathroom fixtures coming off from the wall (we stayed in a casa w/2 bathrooms, both in same condition), clogged drain, corners not clean, woodwork crumbling. Suggestions: Be sure to take the guided historical tours. Overall, good place to visit. I just hope they maintain it well or it'll be rundown soon. read more

It was all a blur as I look back, the long drive from Alabang, a stop here or two to load gas and have a buffet meal. From what I know, at a really high level - this wealthy person decided to buy and relocate historical houses to this site. Which is awesome, with the guides in costume, and the homes being from colonial times up through WW2 and the 1960's. Some homes are recreations. The guides will ask if anyone needs to have information conveyed in English. I like how there's a functional hotel where you could actually stay, a beach area, a light rail (which was not operational), future gondolas, etc. If you are into history and leisure and enjoy taking pics, then you'll really enjoy this place. It's also a nice road trip and a lot of fresh air so this is an all day affair - you'll be getting back home at about 8:00 pm. read more

Stayed at this place 11/22/2021- 11/23/2021 1) When we arrived we checked in and it was at 12:30 , parked our car , gave to wait 30 minutes for their Shuttle that hardly has an AC, driver was very kind . Took us at the Italian Restaurant, only one open , we were starving but service was so slow ! For dinner , again the guard called for a shuttle to take us to the same Restaurant, he dropped us off to a wedding Reception, we clearly indicated " The Italian Restaurant " We gave to walk which fortunately was a pleasant walk since it was cooler . Our room hot water knob was loose does not work , we can not call anybody , no phone in the room . Staff are kind , respectful and friendly but their Services are slow . read more

We also had our lunch in one of your famous Filipino restaurant and attest that the drinks/food are worth every step. Went here on a Wednesday to learn and enjoyed my experience at this place. This resort and museum has more than 63 houses that bring different house styles all over the Philippines from the 1700s to 1936. Most houses were originally built in 1800s. You can either reserve your spots online or do a walk-in to do a day tour. Since a lot people know this place, the tours have been shortened. At the morning tour the tour guide was very detailed in storytelling.But you can take pictures and explore the houses yourselves. Casa Lucbao is the major meeting place for all activities: kalesa ride, balsa ride (this is fun & entertaining ride - a lot of pictures), heritage walking tour( storytelling and some facts about the owners of a few houses & their origins), several restaurants. You feel you are transported back in 1800s. All staff are dressed in different costumes at the 1800s during Spanish era. They are so friendly, but beware of the food in the restaurants. Its expensive and food is not great. Only 1 placeto eat is at Cafe Mariveles - wood fired pizza is decently delicious. Also get habi ice cream. The pasta was good but not hot enough Highly recommended place to learn 63 historical stories of beautiful heritage houses in the Philippines. Even houses that are worth visiting: Binan, Hagonoy, Hidalgo, Surigao, and many more. Take the Balsa ride: the guy who piloted the balsa is so funny, friendly and took our pictures while doing tours on the lake. If you're a senior citizen, do NOT EVEN GO! It's a badly planned and managed theme park. THIS IS PLAIN ROBBERY! I brought my 103 year old grandmother....she was interested to see the homes from her past....but the whole park is NOT senior / disabled accessible. Great that its trying to be "authentic" with its cobbled stone streets...but imagine pushing a wheelchair on them ...my grandmother got so dizzy cause it was so bumpy. So, I decided to rent a golf cart...which is rented by the hour...for an arm and a leg. INSANE! And...driving the golf cart on the on those streets...again..unbearable. They have somewhat smooth paved roads...but still...I speak on behalf of my poor senior grandmother and parents who had a terrible experience. Now lets get into the tour. Understandably, the point of the park is about the old homes...but if the owners have the audacity to charge each person $40 USD, and advertising the place to people visiting from all over....1) HAVE RAMPS for wheelchairs / elevators in all the buildings without compromising the integrity of each structure. 2) DO NOT ASK PEOPLE TO REMOVE THEIR SHOES IN THE HOMES! BUY MATS OR CARPET FOR WALKWAYS! 3) CLEAN THE RESTROOMS! ITS BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE! 4) I understand the park is expanding...BUT GUESTS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BEAR THE INCONVENIENCES OF THE CONSTRUCTION. The only redemption of this place are its friendly staff. They are just trying to do their best to do a good job. They are always willing to help. This beauty of the buildings and their place in Philippine architectural history is not lost on me. But to the owners ....fix the place before ..and lower the price so more Filipinos can actually afford and enjoy this theme park. read more

It was a long drive as others have said, but it just heightens the excitement of what lay ahead. I had my mother with me and a nephew brave the traffic, stupid at San Fernando exit for a quick bathroom break and snack and continue our trip. Just to let you know, it took us almost 5hours from Project 8 ,Q.C with the ongoing road constructions, but heading back it only took us 2.5hrs because we took the SCTEX all the way to NLEX. Now to the good stuff. Arrived and at the gate and directed to a big house to register. I told my mother to stay in the car as she has some problems walking and need the wheelchair. I get to this big beautiful house but can't seem to find any string point so asked a nice lady who pointed me in the right direction. Got around to asking what the entrance cost was and what it entailed. 1,500/person was the day tour that we had come for. Was given a map and given directions to where we were to park and where to proceed. I realized that the tour mentioned about getting on a passenger jeepney? My mother won't be able to do anymore let alone ride her wheelchair on cobble stoned streets. I told the lady what facilities they had fir people with disabilities, she said I can rent out golf cart and that was it. Hmmmm.....We were already there and my Mother was game enough to come this far and see this place so ok we took the challenge. Looking for our parking we found out we still needed to ride the jeepney to the first drop off point. Hay naku?! Any way the guard was gracious enough to tell me that we can go a closer stop where it was better to get off from the car and onto a jeepney, I didn't Like it but we were getting closer, off we went and flagged by another guard and told us the jeepney stop was there but when he saw my mom with the wheelchair he said to go on straight ahead to the restaurant and drop off my Mom and take the car back to the parking area and I ride the jeepney back to where I dropped them off, whew! Anyway it was already past noon and decided to have lunch and realized we were at the Hotel de Oriente that was a reproduction of the original one in Manila. The place was nice, accommodating staff and decided on the buffet. After much rest and food, we headed out. I had to admit, my mother really had bad knees and she trekked it up and over a bridge with cobble stones to the tour start point as well as the golf cart rental. We got our golf cart rental and proceeded to the tour. We saw a lot of historical houses restored lovingly by craftsmen we will never get to meet. I smelled the clean air and clear blue skies with their soft cotton clouds above, it was just so beautiful, being a photography enthusiast, I was in heaven. We We stayed till 6:30pm the light where on so we were able to take some photos with the beautiful lights. Left very to have had the opportunity to see these buildings come to life once again. The only downside all all of these were there weren't a lot of accommodations for the elderly and disabled. There should have been ramps and smooth surfaces for wheel access the very least. read more

While the homes were lovingly restored, the facility is poorly managed and staff undertrained and unprofessional. They were often friendly, though not friendly at the shops. Also, shoes off in the houses policy--for houses that used to be schools--seemed unnecessary. Much talk from your guide about exclusivity of resort, though it actually didn't seem high end. read more
