Old style traditional Cuban restaurant with an easy access walk up window providing multiple sized espresso coffees. Today, only one other customer in the walk up window line which gave me time to peek into the restaurant that displayed casual decor. The barista was friendly and served me up a hot Cuban espresso with just a hint of sugar, which smelled spectacular and went down the hatch with a few aggressive sips. Will return to experience the full brunt of the restaurant and at least try the Pan Con Bistec and update my review.

Looks might deceive you but this is a great Cuban place considering the price to value ratio. It is a very humble establishment. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done at pretty inexpensive prices. The menu is pretty large but not all items are available so make sure to check with your waiter or call in advance if you are looking for a specific dish. Also, their daily specials run out fast so if you are going for dinner, it might not be available. Despite these short comings, all the items I tried were pretty good. The lamb stew, crispy cuban sandwiches, empanadas, tres leches were some of the best. Service is fast and portions are big. This is not a date night spot but if you are in the mood for a casual eat but still authentic food, this checks it.

If you're looking for great Cuban comfort food, las Colinas in Wilton Manors is the spot. Today I was hungry! I went for the Cubano especial sandwich. Lots od pork and ham, Swiss cheese, pickles on fresh Cuban bread then... the magic happens. They press cook it until the bread gets a nice crunch and the meat is hot and cheese melted!!! I added 3 croquetas jamon ans they made them fresh for me!!! Service is good, the ladies all work together the menu is extensive with daily specials (oxtail soup today). If you like a little spice, ask for the picante. Not ridiculous but nice and flavorful. Plenty of free parking and a great family vibe with Latin music you feel transported back to the island! It's lively maybe a bit loud for basic gringos but if you don't want to dine in, they have the window. Also all day long the best Cuban coffee in town! Oh... they literally squeeze fresh oranges for OJ!!! Also know that the check will always have the gratuity included. I'm not a big fan of this practice, but it's not a deal breaker Thanks again, until next time. ¡Salud!

Great Cuban food, always friendly service , just a great clean place to enjoy some authentic Cuban food. I have been coming here for years always consistent ! Easy parking although is a small lot if it's busy at lunchtime.

    The greatest waitress ever

The appetizer platter also comes with the same kind of plantain chips. Highly recommended if you want to try a bit of everything. Empanada has fresh homemade crust Lechon asado: tender and juicy roasted pork. I substitute the moros with fried plantains. I really enjoy it. Plantains are ripe and sweet but not mushy. Tostones are the biggest I've ever had. Well fried and not greasy. Plenty of drink options. Sangria is ok, not very fruity. Only has two slices of oranges . Mojito: strong rum from my favorite rum brand Don Q. My friend ordered paella. The portion is huge. You can share it with more than one person. It takes three containers to take home the leftover. Very tasty with fresh seafood.

The service was excellent, and the restaurant is beautiful with a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious. We started with the empanadas which had an excellent flavor and the mango salsa that it came with was really really good. For dinner, my wife had the Lachona Asada and I had the churrasco steak. Both our dishes were excellent amazing flavors. The meat was super tender, and the portions were a really nice size. I can definitely say that we're going to return more often, especially if the food continues at this level.

We were greeted by the gracious Owner made sure we were seated in a table that we liked, and then immediately we were brought freshwater and a complementary alcohol free Mojito, which was absolutely wonderful. When our dinner was delivered at first glance, it seemed as if the servings were small. And they are too small to share, but as a single meal, it was completely satisfying. It came out warm, fresh and plated beautifully. My sweetheart and I were in the mood for dessert so we ordered the bread pudding and we were going to share it, but when the waiter brought back a dessert, it was two servants courtesy again of this gracious Owner. Define a spot like this a true oasis in a busy, noisy Jody Plaza with white tablecloths and a gracious Owner and beautiful artwork I know for sure that we will be back to enjoy more of their delicious food!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the owner himself, who is incredibly kind and welcoming. He takes the time to talk with you and recommends dishes he thinks you'll enjoy, which made the experience feel very personal. As a Cuban-American, I've eaten at countless Cuban restaurants, and this is the closest I've ever come to food that truly tastes like my abuelita's cooking. Everything was that good. In fact, my husband and I loved it so much that after going for lunch, we ended up coming back again for dinner the same day. The ambiance is warm and home-like. You'll hear Andrea Bocelli playing softly while you sit surrounded by the paintings on the wall and soft lighting, which makes the whole place feel cozy but still special. It was also my husband's first introduction to Cuban food, and I couldn't have asked for a better place for him to experience it. I'm honestly surprised this restaurant doesn't have more traction because it absolutely deserves it. If we're ever back in the area (we were here for our honeymoon) we will definitely be returning. I would recommend Mario's to anyone and everyone looking for authentic Cuban food and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. You will love Mario and every item offered here!
