I had seen a couple reviews of La Habichuela, and we decided to give it a try for a date night. We…read morewere so pleasantly surprised when we walked into the garden for seating! Wow, was it beautiful! Our waiter suggested the Cadillac margarita and blueberry mojito. That was the best mojito I have EVER had. We were more and more impressed with every bite. The bread for the table was so light and delicious. With butter that was the perfect temp to spread. So good! We started with a lobster bisque and Caesar salad, that was made table side for us... he put real effort into that Caesar salad and man, you could tell! We always order to share so for the main course we went with the seafood fettuccine and the ribeye steak. So delicious. And we couldn't get over how affordable our meal was! I am so happy we found this place! What an amazing evening. We will be bringing the whole family back the night before we leave our Cancun vacation

We tried the tikin xic fish, the relleno negro, and the braided squid. The squid definitely stood out - so tender and flavorful, and went perfectly with their house habañero sauce. Drinks were just okay.. I ordered an avocado margarita which did not have any avocado flavor at all. Overall, decent place.

The wine selection is superb. And by the way did I mention desserts? They were absolutely fantastic as well. There are many restaurants in Cancun near to the touristy areas. In my opinion, most of these are expensive and bad. This is off the beaten track, but well worth the effort. We had a car so it was easy for us to arrive. They did offer valet parking for 50 pesos. I thought that worked well and was worth the money as this is kind of in a residential area with limited parking.

It's definitely on the more upscale side of things and most of the menu is in Spanish and service was all in Spanish but you should be able to get what you want. The ambiance is a slightly dimly lit bar and the food prices are definitely higher than most places here but it's worth it. Tostada de atun (Tuna Tostada): 10/10 Very good fish. Has a very steak-like texturre and delicious. Quesadilla langosta (Lobster Quesadilla): 10/10 Lovely! My friend ordered it and it was fantastic. Price is fairly high since it's more upscale but was creamy and meaty. Raviolli Langosta (Lobster Ravioli): My friend ordered 4 Tacos but since most of them had shrimp and I'm allergic I didn't have those, but it was good according to them. Overall, lovely place, food was good and highly recommended!
