Prices were slightly higher than other lunchtime places in town (normally two lunches with drinks are in the £10-15 range and this was £20). I can only think of two downsides to the visit. Tuna and sweetcorn, ham a wholegrain mustard, chicken & mayo and cream cheese with cucumber. As an additional surprise the chicken appeared to have been freshly grilled as the sandwiches were warm. Second course the lightest scones we had ever eaten (apple and cinnamon) with strawberry jam and clotted cream. To finish, cakes. The red velvet cake was like a giant cupcake, avoiding the usual trap of being dry, and topped with lashings of butter-cream icing. All washed down with tea chosen from a myriad of loose-leaf green and black varieties available. All very nice and jolly civilized.
