Since moving to London we have missed Latin American food immensely so when we found this nearby we…read morehad to stop. I won't lie, I was initially turned off by the outside look and we were first in the restaurant (empty restaurants are never a good sign); however, my original trepidation was immediately laid to rest when our waitress came. She was friendly and walked us through all our menu questions and provided some helpful suggestions and very quickly the restaurant filled up. The arepas were fantastic, cheese on top was melted perfection, and the tamales were bursting with flavor and the was moist and delicious. I would highly recommend a stop here, just make sure to bring cash.

Donde Carlos, what can I say...? Great place with a little shop downstairs for those Latin American…read moregoods you're missing! The service is friendly, and feels genuine, and the ambiance is almost as if you were in Colombia! There's usually some Spanish football on the TV which adds to the authenticity of the restaurant. It's always full of Colombians, and other spanish speakers, which could be a little daunting for some, but it's evidence that they do a good job with the food! The empanadas taste great, and of course come with the great spicy salsa verde, super tasty. I ALWAYS go for the Bandeja Paisa, and I'm satisfied every time! The meat is good, although it can be a little over cooked at times, but not often. The rice, arepa, egg, beans and plantain are always cooked perfectly (I think they've had a lot of practice)!! The drinks choices are great, you can even order a Refajo (recommended) which is kinda like beer with Irn-Bru. Tastes great with all the meat on a Bandeja Paisa! They also have some great juices which you can have with milk or water. I usually get the Maracuja with water... refreshing! To say the prices for food are reasonable is a real understatement. £12 for Bandeja Paisa of this quality is awesome! If you're ever in Shepherds Bush, check this place out. Be warned, they close unusually early on Sundays, around 7pm.

On my first visit to Milton Keynes, I was happy to discover a whole bunch of restaurants right…read morebehind my hotel. There were at least a dozen decent looking places. We looked at a few menus and settled on Las Iguanas with their Latin American offerings. The interior was nicely decorated with lots of bright colours and hanging strings of lights to give it a kinda outdoorsy patio look. They do have a very nice patio also but it was too cool to sit out there. I ordered half a rack of Havana Club & Jerk BBQ Glazed Pork Ribs (Fall off the bone individual pork ribs covered in a sticky rum glaze, topped with crispy onion & chilli) from their lunch menu, served with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. It was very good, just the right tenderness to release off the bone easily. Tasty. My three companions opted for a variety of appetizers, including chicken wings, quesadillas, and nachos. It was like tapas style. It was all very good. Their drink menu features Two-for-One cocktails all day so I tried the Rum Runner (Havana Club 3 Yr Rum, blackberry, banana, lime, pineapple, grenadine). It was good! Nobody else wanted a drink so I had them both. No problem! For dessert, we had the Creamy Caramel Cake, Coconut Ice Cream, and the Banana Empanada. Again, these did not disappoint. They were all very good. Good food and good service - that's what makes you come back. So we did. A week later, we made an unplanned trip to Milton Keynes, directly from Paris, to spend a few hours with a dear friend. We all agreed that we had to come back here for lunch. Again, we were not disappointed. This time, a friend and I ordered the Dominican Goat Curry (A spicy Dominican-style goat & scotch bonnet chilli curry with spring onion rice, fried plantain & pink pickled onions). It was very good but I have to say, it was one of the spiciest dishes I've ever had from a restaurant! HOT!!! Another friend had the ribs that I ordered the last time and our fourth diner went the appetizer/tapas route with wings and quesadillas. Despite all the choices within a few steps away, it was an easy decision to come back here. Again, tasty food and good service wins!
