Very expensive repairs. Mechanic did not check his work before releasing the bike, so 3 miles later and... ruh row!! Came in for a gummed up derailer (screen at the service area says $19.99), tech squirted solvent into both sides (only one was sticking) and proceeded to charge me $60. Didn't solve the issue, either, as previously noted. I really wanted to like this place, as it's just off the 215 trail and smack-dab in Summerlin West. I was seriously looking at a new road bike, but like the car dealer that grinds every dollar out of their service department (I know, oxymoron), this place has lost my business. read more

I had totally underestimated the task of packing my bike for an international trip. Enter Las Vegas Cyclery and Carl to the rescue. Carl packed the SciCon Aerocomfort bag (nice bag BTW) like a fine sculptor. A place for everything and everything in its place. He even walked me through a good part of the reverse engineering I will do at the other end. He could not have been more helpful and gracious. I used to go to Pro Cyclery on Sahara but they closed down and this place has been a blessing for those that live near Summerlin. Their tech, Oliver, saved the day for me on a Sunday afternoon when my chain had issues in a middle of a Summerlin ride. He immediately diagnosed the issue and stopped what he was working on to help me out. He even installed the chain and I didn't have to wait. I was totally expecting to have to leave bike but the entire staff was so nice. I was in and out within an hour. This is a must go place for bikers in the west side. read more

Go to other stores. There are wonderful places in Las Vegas for cycling and this is not one of them. This place is the definition of why people are afraid of getting into cycling. Uninviting people that are standoffish when you ask a question and quite literally do not want to help you. I have given this place multiple chances and simply cannot recommend them. My first experience was trying to get my dad's old bike repaired. The staff treated me like I stole the bike and the mechanic made a comment along the lines of "what idiot would do this to a bike". Then when I went to pick up the bike, I asked genuine questions about getting a new bike and was pushed aside as I didn't seem "committed enough" to the sport. Yeah, that's why I'm asking. Most recently I was looking for a new jersey. I walked into the store, and people were busy, fine. I spent 10 minutes looking around, none of the staff said anything or even acknowledged my existence. I eventually was going to ask a staff member for some help but the three people behind the counter gave me reprehensible looks and turned away, one actually making eye contact with me but again saying NOTHING. Vibes in the store are just off and I get the feeling unless you're spending an obscene amount of money or you're friends with a staff member, they really couldn't care less about you. read more

Man, I hate doing this. I have always had great service from these guys in the past. But when I took my Canyon MTB in for a brake bleed everything changed. While having my Specialized Turbo Levo serviced, I inquired about having my Hayes Dominion Brakes bleed on my Canyon Torque. They checked to see if they had the bleed kit and said absolutely they could do that job. Awesome! A few days later I arrive to drop my bike off for brake bleed service. Speaking to the exact same guys who said yes they could do it, stated that they could not do it as they did not have the bleed kit for Hayes. After a few minutes, one guy says oh I can do it I have the bleed kit at home. Ok, great. Said it would be a few days before they could get to it, which was fine. A week later I got a call that my bike was ready for pick up. Which was perfect timing as I had a trip to Snow Summit planned that weekend. Took the bike home, packed my things, and headed to snow summit the next morning. Excited to ride opening weekend with everyone. I arrive to snow summit, take the bike off the bike rack, and NO BRAKES!!! WTF? I called and informed them of the issue and took my bike to the bike shop at snow summit. They put it on the bike stand and found that there was still a bunch of trapped air in the system. A quick bleed at the lever and I was on my way. First run the brakes were awesome, just like new. Half way down my second run, I hit a small drop, hear a pop, and NO BRAKES!!! Luckily I was able to save it and prevent what could have been a very bad crash. Walked the bike to the bottom and back to the parking lot to inspect my bike. Upon inspection, I found that they had either not reinstalled or did not torque the pad retention bolt on the rear brake causing the brake pads to come loose and eventually pop out of the caliper. The bike shop at snow summit did not have the correct brake pads to make the repair, therefore ultimately ending my day of riding before 11am. This was a huge waste of time and money for basically 1 run down. $150 in gas, $60 lift ticket, etc.... Frustrated does not begin to describe what I was experiencing at the time. Nothing I could do, so I returned to Vegas and dropped my bike off to have it fixed properly, replacing pads, bolt, new bleed, and check to ensure everything is working properly. Here we are 2.5 weeks later and finally get my bike back. After a look over I notice that the retaining bolt was not replaced but instead a cotter pin was used in place of a replacement bolt. This is the kind of shit service they provide these days? I am beyond pissed off with the service and treatment I received on this repair. I will not take it back to them to fix it properly, I will just order the part and replace it myself. It seems as though they don't care about doing things right, just the cheapest way possible. Not sure about you, but I don't want my bike repaired half assed which could result in a crash and serious injury. Up until this experience I would always recommend Las Vegas Cyclery for sales, service, and rentals. After this I am no longer comfortable sending my friends and family here. There are many choices in town and I suggest you look into those shops before bringing your bike here! read more

I called twice on the phone, and asked if there was any 14 inch inner tubes available and was informed by a gentleman that there IS 14 inner tubes available to do a repair on an e bike I even got a overpriced quote of $75 $60 for labor and $15 for a "tip" that I had to pay, so dispite the overpriced quote and I still decided to go give this business a chance and spend $40 for an uber xl to fit my bike with a flat tire into the car and when I show up I was greeted by a man that said "we don't have any 14 inch tubes" then I inform him about the phone call then they proceed to take my bike into the back where they do the repairs, next an overweight man with no uniform (probably the owner) looks around in random spots for approximately 8 seconds for a 14 inch tube then tells me again that they don't have them, forcing me to spend another $40 for an uber xl to get the bike back with the flat tire read more

Stopped in on 1/9/21 Sunday to get a look at the shop and bike inventory. Visiting LV for a Raiders game, we are avid mountain bikers and always look for solid bike shop resources when traveling. Mark greeted us and spent a good 10 minutes with me chatting about Santa Cruz and Specialized products, as well as sharing excellent trail beta on McCullough and Late Nite Trailheads. Very helpful. We chose a few pairs of socks to support local, and were met by Kevin at the register up front. This shop is very well stocked...bikes, supplies, and clothing. Even an elusive Copper XX1 10-52 cassette...nice!! Kevin spread the stoke with shop shop stickers (always a nice touch, and free marketing) to complete our sale. Their service dept was clean and organized, and a fleet of racked touring vans were out front. What more could you need in a bike shop?? Oh yeah, and outdoor wind turbine to sustainably power the shop. Yep, they had that too. We will be back, thanks LVC. read more

Last year, I complained about service to the owners of LV Cyclery. Also, I found their service staff always interested in selling me parts or accessories that I did not need. I had quite a few upgrades for my Cannondale. The manner in speaking to a woman was different from how I am addressed as an AARP citizen in the community. I do not recommend this bicycle shop. One of the owners is female!!! GIANT Bicycle has a mature manager who knows how to work with the AARP citizen community including articulate women. read more

Pretty nice shop, but I was pissed off that they asked me if I wanted a water bottle holder for my new $3,000+ bike. I could tell right away this place is cheap - when I asked if it was included they said no. Then why ask? If I want a water bottle holder I'll buy one on Amazon. I think this place will nickel and dime you based on the water bottle holder ask. My advice, don't ask about buying a water bottle holder when you just sold a nice bike for some real money, just throw it in or forget about the few bucks you want to make on it. read more

How can someone drop a bike off for tune up and get it back feeling worse?? Dropped off my Specialized Levo for service and got it back feeling like sh**. Not sure if the tech recorded previous settings prior to rebuilding fork. Ask them to correct the front wheel but they didn't, technician stated they "were not familiar with Industry 9 wheels" if that is the case maybe they shouldn't be a bike mechanic. Extremely disappointed in this shop as they are one of the few local Specialized dealers. I guess I'll be making the 30 minute trip to All Mountain Cyclery from now on. read more

Always great service, albeit, very busy at times. Last October, I took my e-bike out to The River Mountains Loop trail and got a motor error right away and could not ride. Went straight the bike shop and Shawn looked at it right away and found a bad speed sensor. Replaced. Today, the motor was dripping oil. Again went straight the bike shop again. Shawn took it in right away. Looked at it and tighten down the motor and cleaned up. Plan to watch and will replace motor if oil leak comes back. Always great service. read more

I was introduced to Las Vegas Cyclery by another fellow cyclist who happens to be a colleague and friend of mine. The store is located out of the way from me but when you know you're getting a good product and great service, it's worth the time, patience and energy! I've purchased clothes, fuel and have had repairs by the highly skilled, knowledgeable, professional and easy going staff at this business. I'm appreciative of their ability to assess, diagnose and fix the problem(s) with my bike(s). I also appreciate the time taken to explain and educate me about bike mechanics (it's very interesting to me). I know it sounds crazy but it makes me wish I would have worked in a shop in my younger years...my dad owned an auto body shop which repaired and tricked out old classic vehicles and I would hang out there alot doing odds and ends... The customer service was horrible from the service guy. I went in with a new $2700 e-bike that I had purchased online, not from them. I needed a tire repair. It was obvious they didn't want to help me because I didn't purchase the bike from them. When I asked basic question about the bike he told me "this isn't one of our bikes you need to Google or watch you tube." He treated me like I was ignorant and was rude. Having recently gotten into cycling and quickly realizing how expensive it is I am on the hunt for deals as far as clothing and accessories go. On my first visit I was at the gas station in the same parking lot and figured why not stop in. I browsed for awhile and stumbled upon the sales section in the back. It didn't disappoint. On this visit they had a decent selection of jerseys in varying sizes, which happened to be what I was looking for. My second visit was a tire changing clinic given by professional mountain biker, Lisa Leonard, in conjunction with the store. On this visit one of the employees helped me get my front tire off and explained the proper way it should be placed in my car since I don't use a rack. This event took place upstairs in a comfy area with couches, chairs, cheese, wine and swag! Really informative, free event. My last visit I stopped in looking for gloves. Obviously not a big ticket purchase but Kevin was really helpful in explaining the benefits and making recommendations. I checked out their sales section on this visit as well, and again some great deals on jerseys, helmets, socks, sleeves, etc. Looking forward to attending future clinics they might put on and stopping in to see what deals I can find! read more

This place is great. I will come back here, because the selection of product is very good, and the repair work is very good. But the "how can we help" attitude and service in particular is excellent, and why I always come back for more. Recently, I had my bike tuned up. They did a really great job, but I had a little bit more work that needed to be done. I took it back a couple of months later, and they just handled it without charging me. We're extremely disappointed to know that this place got money hungry and didn't care about a preorder and ended up selling to someone else. We came to these store to look at bikes, they didn't have what I wanted so we asked if there was any more of those bikes coming, the guy that was helping said we have one getting delivered July 2nd, I offered to pay for the bike $5900.00 plus tax or leave a deposit he said no it is not necessary but I insisted and his answer was we do not know for sure if it's coming that day but it is the one you're looking for, same specifications and size so we left contact number and called him last Wednesday to confirm arrival in which he looked and said it is coming because there is no changes so we call back today asking to see what time will the bike be ready for pick up and they're response was "we don't have one in stock" this bike sold today! What kind of business does this? Stay away, not professional at all the only thing they care is money and not customers. read more

Great shop for a rental outside of but into Red Rock Canyon! It's refreshing to find more than 10 total road bikes in a shop, anywhere! I know cyclocross and mountain bikes are all the rage and although these guys are like most shops where the bulk of their inventory caters to this now more popular segment, thankfully they're large enough to still have a number of road bikes, almost entirely if not completely Specialized. I found them online and chose them for their proximity to Red Rock Canyon and maybe more importantly because their rentals are Specialized. Planning for a ride I decided to call and ask several questions about renting and what gear I needed vs. what they would provide, etc.. Their shop was very friendly and helpful. The rental arrangement is done through their website and allows you to select type, size, and pedal type. For me it was a road bike (choice when reserving of Roubaix, Tarmac, and S-Works Tarmac). My rental was a Roubaix (Tiagra but still a Roubaix), which was ready to go with Keo Look pedals when I arrived. I brought my clothing and shoes, they provided a place to change, a helmet, and two bottles of water (no extra cost). Kevin, at the rental counter did a great job helping me get set up and ready to roll, including making sure I had all the aforementioned gear. Additionally, I brought my Garmin computer and they had an extra mount so Kevin placed it where I wanted. He also adjusted my seat height then reviewed a map with me to make sure I knew where I was going. Fortunately these guys do a lot of rental business and there happened to be someone else renting a road bike and also heading into Red Rock and he'd done it before so knew where he was going. We rode together on the way out before separating inside the canyon. Finding my way back, alone, was no problem since Kevin reviewed the maps with me in advance. The only issue I'd had was the chain dropping during the beginning of a climb. I shifted right off the cassette onto the edge of the frame and this caused me to dump out to my right side. Otherwise, the bike was solid, everything was great and the shop was great to work with! When I returned it and explained what happened they were sincerely apologetic and went straight to making the adjustments on the bike so it wouldn't happen to the next rental. read more

I was riding on the trails on my ebike and my front brake stopped grabbing. I went straight to this dump and they said they wouldn't help me. Literally no brakes and they turned me away. Said they only work on ebikes w pedal assist which mine has. They could care less about your safety or well being. Unbelievable - syay far away! read more

I can now update this review and give the Las Vegas Cyclery the full 5 stars. When I first came here, I had gotten the third flat tire (same one) in 5 weeks. When the repair guy looked at the inside rim, he saw that the wheel liner needed something better to protect the tubes. The inside of the spokes were causing the rear tire to go flat. As I was leaving, he said, "If that goes bad within 30 days, you bring it back and we'll take care of it!" It's been three months and I haven't had another flat. Almost 300 miles on that tube and it's still working well! The Cyclery deserves the 5th star! read more

Las Vegas Cyclery's new location has opened and what a nice place it is! Located right off of the 215 and Town Center, the shop is convenient to Red Rock for both road and mountain bikers. The new building is spacious and, as the website describes it, "...made using recycled materials, locally produced materials (within 500 miles max), completely powered by the sun and wind with a 50KW solar PV system and 5KW wind generator (net zero energy), LEED certified (shooting for the highest level - Platinum!)" LVC rents bikes if you don't have one and offers excellent service to tune or fix yours for you. There's a large selection of bikes, as well, if you're in the market to buy--walking through gave me a bad case of bike envy. I'm excited that the new shop is open and hope it inspires more people to get out, ride, and enjoy the beauty that our city offers for those on two wheels. read more

Tonight I rush from work to bring my bike to Las Vegas Cyclery I made it before it closed. It needed some repairs to the gear changing system. One of the technicians looked over my bike and said he was not going to fix it because it was a waste of time and money. He would not even allow any work to be done on my bike. It was like he was insulted that I actually took my bike there to be fixed. In the past I have brought other bicycles of the same caliber and they were repaired. So I guess now I will never use LV Cyclery again since the bicycles I ride are not good enough?? Isn't it my money and I have the right to use it for what I want? I have been experiencing some pain and numbness on my bike rides. I am new to cycling and just have a hybrid type bike, not a super expensive road bike. I brought it in and Steve spent a good amount of time with me to find a proper seat and get it all adjusted. He mentioned I have 30 days to test out the seat which is fantastic!
