What shone for me from this particular centre was the assistance they gave when there was a small medical emergency at the nearby Uniting Church - an elderly man had collapsed and I ran over to see if there was any assistance that could be offered whilst we waited for an ambulance to turn up - they came over with an oxygen bottle and helped calm the gentleman, and gave a report on his condition to the ambo's which was an excellent display of community spirit. There's a few medical centres around in the area - this is my choice for routine appointments.

I went to Specsavers Edwardstown to get my reading glasses for the year! I usually go elsewhere but…read moredecided to try Specsavers for a change! I discussed with the optometrist getting one pair of tinted lenses especially for the computer to reduce migraines! I purchased 3 pairs of glasses with frames and got new lenses fitted to my favorite older frames! When I got them home I found them ok to read with but when I tried them on the computer, I couldn't see a thing! I was forced to use my older glasses for both normal reading and the computer! When I rang Specsavers I was promptly told that they were reading glasses and NOT meant to be used while using the computer! I was shocked because I have never heard this before plus I discussed computer use with the optometrist and got one pair that reduced glare! I made an appointment to get the problem fixed but when I saw the optometrist was told the same thing! When I mentioned our conversation about the computer he said " how many people do you think I see, I can't remember the conversation"!! Then he told me the glasses were fine and to go home!! So either I throw my computer away or use the older glasses! I'm upset because I got my favorite frames fitted with the useless lenses as well! So now I have 3 pairs of glasses that are paper weights and out over $500 !! I am disgusted that I have wasted both my time and money on glasses I can't use!

All the staff were polite and helpful, I got better customer service than any other optometrist I've been to. They had a huge range of frames from tons of different designers, and their two for one offers are very good (sunnies are included in that offer). I would highly recommend this shop!

The pharmacy adjoins the Norwood Village Medical & Dental Clinic and would imagine most business would come from there. Access is from either the clinic or the footpath. I only had to wait in line for a minute and upon submitting my prescription request the lady behind the counter was very polite and welcoming. While waiting for the script to be made another customer was called to collect his script and she was lovely to him too. There were a couple of chairs while waiting although I wasn't waiting long, and when I was called by the pharmacist payment was made easy with the Pay Wave. The pharmacist noticed my limited voice due to pharyngitis and sent me on my way with good wishes. Parking was the only issue and being on The Parade at Norwood is busy so one must expect to park a little further and walk.

So, it is safe to say that I have tested out quite a few different specialists. I first made a appointment here as it was the closest store to one of my old homes in the Adelaide Hills. And I am so happy that I did. I have now been going to this store for 5 years. Now the first thing to note about Specsavers is that they have really cool frames at great prices! They have a heap of funky designs and do change their stock every now and then. So I sometimes pop in to see if there is anything I like. Also, if you find a pair of framers elsewhere, they are happy to place lenses in it with your prescription after a test. That way they ensure that you get exactly what you need! They are also offer great advice with frames and happy to speak to you while you try on every pair in the store. Ummmm yes... I am indecisive. Also, if you wear contacts, the Specsavers brand contacts are great. I use the daily ones, and they are so comfy and easy to wear. They again are really well priced. Some other contacts that I have used don't breathe as well as these ones. So give them a go. Now, my favourite part of this store are the Optometrists. I have seen three different Optometrist here and they are all as lovely as the next. They are so happy to talk and educate you on your eyes. Total translators of eye anatomy! Now, I love anatomy and after looking at super awesome pictures of my retinas, the Optometrist saw how curious I was. She then printed me a copy of them and I have framed them at home. Yes, I am weird. But, I love them! If you want amazing service, products and eye care; travel to this store. I have not found another Optometrist quite like them in Adelaide.

If you're a Health Partners member this is a great optometrist to visit. I had an eye exam done…read morehere recently, it was very comprehensive and I was in and out in 20 minutes. The exam is bulk billed to medicare, and if you do need any eye support you get huge discounts, depending on your level of cover. Luckily I was given the all ok for the next two years so I can't give you details on the savings, but you can check the website for more info. Also all the staff were very professional and friendly. In a nutshell - I can see clearly now!

It looks like they offer a large variety of eye glasses, but I must explain how awesome the customer service attendant behind the counter was towards me. Ask for Melissa, she's actually the Assistant Store Manager. Melissa has customer service abilities that could save mankind (well some of us anyway) and her phone and communication skills puts any call centre consultant to shame. I explained to her that as a son, I didn't want my Dad waiting for two months before he got seen by his eye specialist (the eye specialist my Dad has is very popular and busy that you have to book at least two months in advance, so we had to re-strategise). She's so dang understanding that even after our discussion, I find myself blabbing away about how she truly wanted to help my Dad's eyes or how she agreed with my strategies. Fortunately for her, my Dad is a loyal customer who didn't lose faith in their company. Was it the way she really listened to me? Was it the fact that she put up with my disagreements? Sure. She was fantastic. But of all the worthy qualities Melissa demonstrated, nothing turned me on more than her genuine care towards my Dad's eyes and went the extra mile for me. A woman who cares about helping my dear Dad -- even if not by her own ideas, but by her carefully listening to me, will always win my heart. (hmm....girls who listen to me turn me on!)

All of the stars! This has got to be the best doctor's clinic I've ever been to. Not the sort of…read moresentence that gets used often, but darn it - it's true! I'm willing to come down here from the Northern suburbs because I know I will get well looked after. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and all the doctors I've seen (which is most of them since I just take available appointment times rather than see one doctor regularly) have been excellent. They are really attentive, take the time to listen to you and make sure they get the full story. No hasty prescription writing to bustle you out of the door or ordering of unnecessary tests. Appointments do tend to run overtime - pretty standard for any GP though - and I would put it down to the doctors being thorough. The waiting room is worth a mention too; plenty of chairs and couches and a big area for kids with plenty toys appropriate for different ages.

He is also very caring, compassionate and very dedicated to his patients! A friend of mine recommended him to me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time and he scheduled my first consult with him very quickly & on a public holiday.... dedication! When I was diagnosed with bc for the second time, naturally I stayed with him. His surgical skills are amazing, my scars from 2 breast cancer surgeries are fantastic, hardly visable at all. I've been a patient now since 2009 & wouldnt ever go to anyone else. His staff are always extremely friendly, caring & compassionate and are also highly efficient in their duties.
