This was my second appointment in a tattoo removal series and I'm so glad more locations have opened up in East Bay closer to me. About 5 minutes later I was taken to the laser room where the nurse offered me a stress ball to grip during the session - I was highly impressed as the last place I went didn't offer such an amenity! Then finally in Nov. 2019 I decided I needed something drastic to see change, so I booked a consultation at Laser Away and luckily they had a Black Friday sale. I purchased 6 sessions of Clear and Brilliant and never looked back. Things to know 1. Pain is beauty, beauty is pain. Feels like a hot rubber band snapping your face. Arrive on time, ask for extra strength Lidocaine, slather that all over your face - up to hair line and slightly under chin. (So important) 2. Recovery - moisturize with petroleum, spf spf spf!, they provide a whole list of best practices. Nurses are handling the treatment and are very knowledgeable. Downtime is about a week in stages - sunburn looking face, dry sandpaper texture, then finally smooth and glowing skin. 3. Pricing - Sessions are around $400-$500 each. They recommend 6 sessions, but it really depends on your skin and your needs. Go when there's a sale, which happens often. It's pricey, but I calculated all the facials/products I purchase and it's about the same with the Black Friday price I paid which was $266 per session. This is a new location. I prefer it over Walnut Creek mainly because of location. I felt like the staff was super attentive and very accommodating. The nurse (who I forgot her name, so sorry!) was knowledgeable. I love going to LaserAway, they are always on time for my appointments. This visit I had the great benefit of ARI doing my Laser Hair removal. I was so impressed. I've been for numerous treatments so far and I've been to two different locations and I was surprised that she did things a little different and was more thorough than anyone I've had before. She was great to talk to and she was so efficient. I had questions and she was very knowledgeable and answered them all. I was very happy and comfortable with my treatments and ARI. I was lucky enough to have her both days. Even the front office staff was amazing and nice and welcoming at 8am. I purchased a package of tattoo removal treatments for the Emeryville location. My first appointment, they put me in a dirty room and left me waiting over half an hour. I assumed it was a busy day, which happens sometimes. My second appointment, they canceled because the laser equipment was broken. Despite having canceled, they then sent me a bunch of confirmation messages for the canceled appointment. My third appointment, they canceled less than two hours before the appointment because they didn't have staff to perform the service. I figured 3 chances is enough and I asked for a refund. I had to follow up four times - 3 times with the patient care coordinator and then with the person who had sold me the package - in order to get a response. They refused a full refund and are trying to keep 40% of the cost of the package supposedly to cover the session where I got to wait half an hour in the filthy room. Avoid this place. read more

The structure of the appointment times is honestly very frustrating. If I could go back and instead find a smaller company that values their customers, I would. I already bought a package and every time I've needed to reschedule an appointment, they don't have appointments until a much later date. There are no appointments in the next week or the week after if you need to reschedule. Another issues I had is, they tell you that you can request a specific nurse. Which I did. Because I felt like one specific nurse at the Emeryville location was a lot more precise, meticulous, and thorough about how she would divide the body to perform her work. Which I appreciated. So I reschedule my appointment to specifically be with her for a little over 2 weeks later (bc they had no space). But the day before my appointment, they called me to let me know the nurse I requested wouldn't be able to see me because she would be with another patient. I called and I asked when she would be available again, and they said she wouldn't be available until another 3 weeks!! So that would be a total of 5 weeks just to be with the person I requested. That's IF they don't reschedule me AGAIN. ALSO, You'll also have to wait 30+ min to be seen at the Emeryville location. They only have 2 laser machines and a nurse told me that they triple book the rooms. She said they do this because they want to make it seem like they're busy all the time. Kind of like a doctors office where people are waiting in the waiting room. However, this is not a doctors office and this is a luxury people pay for. So they should not be triple booking the only two rooms they have and making one person wait. That's extremely inconvenient and inconsiderate on other peoples time. At this point, I regret buying a package from a giant laser company. I don't feel like quality patient care is there. You'll honestly just be placed with a random nurse each time. If that's your thing then this is the place for you. But, if not, then look for a smaller company that knows who you are when you walk in the door. read more

Had the best experience here! I recently decided to "level up" on the hair removal game and switch to laser after years of waxing/sugaring. I always thought that laser was costly, not always efficient, and sessions took forever. NOPE! The cost is literally on average what one can expect to pay on a monthly basis to get a Brazilian, underarm, and brow wax. I feel like I'm constantly stressing about my body hair...especially if I know I'll be in a bikini or in a sleeveless shirt. Many of my friends have done laser away and swear by it. The fact that there are tons of locations out there is even more of an incentive to get into it. Right now I'm getting my happy trail, Brazilian, and under arms done. I don't write many reviews. I purchased a syringe of lip fillers and used their lending system "alley" to be able to pay for them. I was advised to purchase the whole syringe when I only inquired for half. I wasn't able to go get a touch up within the 30 days because I'm military and my schedule shifted a lot when I was notified of an upcoming deployment. I did call to reschedule these appointments but was never warned that the reason they dispose of these syringes was due to bacteria, IF I HAD KNOWN I WOULD'VE ONLY PURCHASED HALF!!! I didn't even get half applied but now I'm on the hook for the WHOLE syringe, what a joke. A waste of my money, they threw out my syringe and I still need to pay it back since I don't want my credit to be jacked up. Thanks for nothing LaserAway. read more

5 star review for this location, which is a convenient drive to from where I live in Oakland. They always has ample parking in the garage across the street. The facility is clean and the staff are wonderfully friendly. I'm always in and it on time as scheduled! My feedback is not for this location but for the company in general - it would be great to have a customer portal where I could track my own packages purchased and what I've used so far. I've had discrepancies that staff have promptly fixed when noticed, but it would have been easier to notice and address promptly if it were easier for me to track my package usage. Additionally, compared to other laser companies I've used, LaserAway is really strict about segmenting hair packages by body location (upper arm, hands, chin, etc). Good idea in theory, but that's not how everyone's hair grows in reality. I had to buy a totally unnecessary extra package because I have a few stray hairs outside the body mapping they've created. This wouldn't be necessary if they the option for a custom fit consultation & package based on actual hair growth. read more

The entire staff at the Emeryville location is fantastic! I purchased an 8 session package for my entire upper body (back, arms, shoulders, chest). I'm a guy so the hair is plentiful. Everyone from the front desk staff (Elizabeth and team) to the very caring and nurturing RN's doing the treatments have been an extreme pleasure to deal with. Laser hair removal is no fun process but a professional and nurturing RN can make a world's of difference. I've had 3 sessions so far - 2 have been with Lamai and she has been a godsend. From constantly checking in on how I'm doing during the process, to using ice packs before each area is treated to help numb the pain, to helping shave a few areas I missed, to helping rub aloe at the end, she has made this painful process become much more enduring. Without her I don't think I'd be able to sit for the hour long session. After 3 sessions I've seen around a 40% reduction in areas which is pretty good in my opinion. The hairs are finer and lighter, and not as thick. If you are debating on where to go for laser hair removal, look no further and book with Laser Away! read more

While they are quick and efficient in giving you botox and lip fillers it comes with no dental blocks or numbing cremes or any thing like a professional plastic surgeon would do. I had botox put in several places and it hurt beyond belief. At a plastic surgeons place I had a dental block to get many injections to get my lip fillers shaped right and looking nice. . I happen to know it is very painful with out some numbing stuff of some kind for your lips to put many injections in a very tender place with a lot of delicate nerve endings. These people use no numbing procedures at all and they are quite more expensive than a regular plastic surgeons office. if you get in with a plastic surgeon you can get what you want painlessly and less expensive because they will offer specials to try to get you to come back. They also want you to buy blocks of botox and such and you have to pay ahead of time before you come in to have the work done. Most reputable plastic surgeons have you pay on your way out of the office for these procedures. I don't much faith in these fancy little filler day spas because of the way they operate and are too high priced! read more
