They are very prompt in getting my appointments scheduled and even text to remind me to make an appointment if I don't have one coming up and the books are filling up. I get light volume lashes which work really well for my very thin natural lashes. The lash artists ask me every time if my lashes are working out for me and if I want to change it up. I did go a little longer and fuller for my birthday which was so fun but for everyday I like my lashes at 13 and light volume. I get a lot of compliments even weeks after my last fill. Also, I think it's so thoughtful how they have added snacks and water to the waiting room area this year. WHY I WENT HERE: - wanted to treat myself to a beauty service - have NEVER gotten any kind of eyelash service done before and did a lot of research prior to reaching out to different companies once I decided I wanted a lash lift vs. lash extension - Lash Away Studio was the only establishment I reached out to that offered a keratin lash lift THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - not gonna lie, I did get lost following the GPS to get to this place; had to make a U-Turn before finally realizing that it was in the plaza off Riverside Blvd and Florin Rd (where Grocery Outlet is located) THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - VERY nice! super bright, clean, modern CUSTOMER SERVICE (BEFORE APPOINTMENT): - I initially reached out to the business (http://www.lashawaystudio.com/) on their "Contact" portion of the page to inquire about the lash lift services (I specifically wanted a keratin lash lift) - I received an email that stated "Thank you for the inquiry. Our lash lift service is $85 and the service is about 45 mins - 1 hour. A deposit of $20 via Venmo is required for this service. At this time we are only accepting cash/Venmo. Please provide full name, phone number and desired date and time for booking and we will try to accommodate to it. Lash lift services are only on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Please let us know if you may have any further questions. Thank you." - I replied with the requested information from the email and in addition asked "Questions I have for the appointment: - what pre care and post care information do I need to know and/or products I need to purchase? - will you let me know the Venmo handle to make the deposit or will you request it from me?" - shortly after I received confirmation from the business that my Venmo deposit of $20 was received, my appointment was booked and leading up to the appointment itself I received both text and email confirmations and reminders of what to expect, etc. CUSTOMER SERVICE (DURING APPOINTMENT): - I was running late to my appointment, got lost for a bit, but I did get there before the 10 minute cancellation window was up - Anna was super nice, warm, and welcoming! She keeps the door locked until/unless you have an appointment so she's there to greet you - you're given a clipboard of a COVID-19 survey as well as an appointment survey (what you're there for, allergies and/or skin sensitivities, lifestyle questions, etc.) - prior to my keratin lash lift service starting, I used the restroom (since the service can take 45 minutes to an hour per her email) - I loved the room and cleanliness and care taken into everything; you place your personal items on the hooks on the wall before laying down on the client table (a tissue-like paper you see when you go see the doctor's is used for cleanliness per client) - the process: lay down on the table, keep eyes closed (unless instructed to open them), area surrounding eyes have tape applied, the "lift" portion is brushed on and given 5-7 minutes before proceeding to the "curl" portion that is brushed on and given 5-7 minutes before proceeding to the "condition" portion that is brushed on and given 5-7 minutes before tape is removed and Anna wipes down the lash area - on a side note, I LOVED the music Anna had playing in the background; I heard Boyz II Men, Selena, Monica, etc. and was singing along in my head - Anna informed me that my lashes are naturally thin/bare and straight; the lash lift will look nice/more noticeable when I wear my glasses; easy maintenance with regards to applying washable mascara only (my research prior to the appointment informed me that ingredients used to make waterproof mascara will ruin/strip the perm in the lash lift process, so washable mascara is best) to make the lashes darker/thicker looking - Anna also told me that lash extensions (should I decide to ever go for that service) are great for wanting to change up my look (natural, dramatic, etc.) but are NOT good for people who have oily skin and/or those who workout often/intensely because the oil and sweat will make the lash extensions fall out faster and not last as long - not going to lie, some parts of the process I felt some discomfort and pinching, but in the end I loved the results! - with regards to aftercare, Anna also provided me with a little printed card in a bag with aftercare instructions as well as a mascara wand; she also informed me to go to the store to buy any kind of lash serum or oil to apply to my lashes and keep them strong, etc. OVERALL: - Anna was super informative, tentative, and nice - I'll see how these next 5-8 weeks last for the lash lift itself before I decide on booking another appointment, etc. - highly recommend! read more

I just got my lashes done and my face changed intently. I had an appointment and came in with a wonderful greeting from Nhung. She offer water and check if I need to use the restroom before we start. The shop is bright and welcoming. The room is well decorated and relaxing environment. I was so comfortable that I felt asleep. Nhung was very general as this is my first time getting a classic set. She suggested to add a little more to give a little volume. I went for her suggestion and it turns out beautiful. I didn't feel heavy, but I feel glorious. This was only my second time getting lashes...it was such a relaxing experience! When I arrived for my appointment, my lash angel, Anna, was already waiting for me by the door. I appreciate that this lash studio is appointment only and locks the door from the inside so I feel safe a secure when I'm laying on the table with my eyelids closed lol. The studio itself is clean and tastefully decorated. First thing Anna did when we entered the room is put on a mask and wash her hands. So important when someone is hovering above and touching your face! Anna listened to what I liked and didn't like about my last lash set, asked me about where I was going on vacation, and made recommendations based on the fact I was going to be in the water and at the beach. I told her I wanted less length, nothing too flashy, and it to look natural. She ran some suggestions by me and then we got started. First off, let me say that the technicians here are amazing! The owners however, are absolutely unprofessional. I recently had an off experience where all my lashes fell out, only 10 days after having them done. I immediately texted the business 11/22 (they dont accept phone calls which is another red flag) to get back in. The "soonest" available was today 12/2 and you are typically charged more each consecutive week Which I have understood since coming here well over a year now. In my effort to get an earlier appointment, nothing was available so I waited. The good news is they did the right thing and reimbursed me for my last appointment, totally unexpected. What they did that was ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL was CANCELLED ME TODAY AFTER WAITING since NOV 22 to get in! This is a local business that I once LOVED coming to that is now POORLY RUN by UNPROFESSIONAL OWNERS. I SADLY NO LONGER RECOMMEND this business ONLY BECAUSE THE OWNER LACKS INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONALISM. So sorry the lash techs work under such horrible conditions. They will not last. I have been going here for almost 5 years, back when lash extensions were a budding trend. I've gone to many different lash techs and have gotten a variety of styles but I just keep coming back to Lash Away because of a number of things. The lash techs are amazing, shout out to the OGs Anna and Julie. The environment is so inviting and I feel so comfortable going in. The rooms are private and the techs are so accomodating. Even with the COVID pandemic going on, they never made me feel anything less than welcome. The techs are so easygoing and they listen to what you want (take it from me, I'm a picky lash extension person). Even in times when I wasn't satisfied (only once or twice in the last 5 years), they fit me in to get additional time as soon as they could. I started with classics but nowadays I find myself doing anything from light volumes to full Russian volumes. Terrible owner, unprofessional and cannot handle customer service. A condensed version of my experience is as follows: loved my girl Kenisha but unfortunately she was out the last two times I was there. They rescheduled me with an obviously new person who was super clumsy and had no confidence in what she was doing, lots of pulling and prickling and lashes turned out terrible. Afterwards, I called and complained then came in to have it fixed, but the "experienced" technician messed up with the taping. She peeled back the tape halfway and tugged at it to reattach causing my skin to fold and crease which turned into a superficial abrasion that required some ointment to heal. Skin around the eye is the thinnest in the body. Called the owner to let her know so it doesn't happen to others. I was accused of being too picky and she went off on me and asked me if I knew how to run a business and that the last person I complained about (the new girl) quit because of me, which is funny because that was definitely not on me. It was more likely a management issue. The owner Hong cannot take criticism at all and has too much of an ego to say sorry, it won't happen again. To make matters worse, she asked me to never come back and she would refund me. I did not ask for a refund or even a discount, just wanted to call this issue to her attention. On top of that she never refunded me! I had to back charge her through my bank. Just to reiterate, my lash girl was amazing, the owner is unprofessional and distasteful. This was my first time getting eyelash extensions and it was a really great experience! Uyen (the owner) was very welcoming and took the time to explain which eyelashes would fit me the best. I get really paranoid with my eyes because I don't trust anyone touching them, but she did such a wonderful job of not poking them and it didn't burn at all. Uyen is very quick and efficient with eyelash extension so she was able to finish them in an hour when they normally take like 2 hours. I got my eyelashes done two weeks ago and they are still intact and they don't require any work for maintenance, which is awesome. I have gotten many compliments for them, so I plan to go back for touch-ups.
