I randomly met Sophia through a friend (and later on coincidently I found out she worked with my roommate, small world!), and at the time my regular eyelash girl was on maternity leave. The first time I met her she met me at my house after work and gave me options of how I wanted my eyelashes. My usual girl uses the thin lashes, which looks very natural but takes a little over two hours to do and isn't as dramatic. I wanted something different so I explained that to her. She is very gentle and does your lashes exactly the way you want them, and always asks what you want before she starts. She is such a sweetheart and is so accommodating to your schedule. It was my first time getting lash extensions and I did a lot of research. I decided to go with Sophia's lash extensions because of some great reviews I read on Yelp. I went there and told Sophia that I wanted something very natural and light. I specifically said I did not want lashes that looked fake. After a little while I started feeling my lashes become pretty heavy and I started to question her about it being natural and light. She confirmed that it was. So 30 minutes in and we were all done... Except that she gave me exactly what I did NOT ask for. They were so thick and looked really really fake!! She tried to say that it looked natural, obviously not because I pulled up a photo of her own work and she said "oh!". WTF? So I told her I didn't like it and to remove it. The removal process was so painful because she used soooooooooo much glue that everything ended up clumping together and glue even got on my eyelid skin. To remove, she used a bunch of this solution that kept burning my eyes. After 40 min of burning pulling, more burning and more pulling the lashes finally came off. I just wanted to get home at this point and told her I'd call her for another appointment. Now that I'm home and washed out my eyes, there are chunks of glue left on my lids!!!! It hurts so much when I touch or rub my eyes because the chunks of glue are dried. I would not recommend her to a first timer and would definitely not go back myself. VERY disappointed!!!! In addition, she is suppose to be the "professional" and should know what to pick out for me as far as thickness of the lash. Let me remind you that it was my FIRST time, how would I know what size would look most natural. The fact that she picked out something that was FAR FAR from what I requested shows me that she doesn't know what she is doing. After reading Sophia's great reviews, I decided to give her a try for my first ever lash extension. When she had finished I was shocked to see the unnatural look of the lashes. There didn't seem to be the natural curve of the line. Also, they poked at me and irritated my eye. She quickly soothed my concerns saying that the lashes will soften up by tomorrow morning. Having never gotten them done, remembering her raving reviews and not wanting to be ungrateful, I trusted her. So I tipped her and left. When I got back into my car I instantly pulled out my mirror and inspected her work. I didn't know if I was being a perfectionist but it seemed like there were several lashes on several extensions. I thought it was supposed to be one per? I also noticed that there was a curve in the line of the lashes that was unnatural. At this point I was feeling uneasy about the quality of work so I called her back and mentioned the unflattering spacing. Since I was still in the parking lot I suggested coming back in so she could see what I was referring to. She immediately said that was not necessary because people's eyelash lines differ and it's normal to see inconsistencies (paraphrasing here). Wow, so that was the extent of her customer service, not to even take a couple minutes immediately following the session? I woke up the next filled with anticipation to see my softer lovely lashes and no such luck. They looked the exact same! Not only that, under the light of my bathroom mirror I could see that my eyelash line was perfectly aligned and the issue was that she had situated a whole cluster of eyelashes just a little bit higher than the others. So the unevenness was fabricated by her work. Also, as my eyelashes fell, I could see that each contained several of the lash extensions and several of my own personal eyelashes. Within a month, I had lost almost all the extensions and they had taken my lashes with them! I thought this was NOT supposed to do that! Now I needed to get my lashes done but no way was I ever going back to Sophia. So I tried someone else and boy am I glad I found her! She took one look at my lashes and felt instant pity. She said the lashes should definitely be only on one of my lashes. she explained that if two of my natural lashes are glued together or are glued together via a shared lash extension, then it does not allow the individual lash to grow at its own rate. This creates constant irritation and the loss of your natural lashes as younger lashes get pulled out by the older lashes that are ready to shed naturally. She took the time to remove the previous lashes and started fresh. When I woke up at the end of the session, I immediately knew what she meant. I hardly felt my lashes at all and they definitely were not pinching. pulling or poking me. What a relief, I can enjoy eyelash extensions after all! :-) read more

Wow great deal and so convenient... Sophia comes to your home with all her gear and lashes. You just lie on a sofa or bed with good lighting and Sophia decks out your lashes. She is super nice and gentle. It takes about 1 hour to get a full set of lashes. She is very accomodating... and teaches you how to take care of your lashes. 4-6 weeks before they completely fall out, but she advises you get touched up at 2-3 weeks before too many fall out, after which you may need a whole new set. I paid $80 for my full set and she'll touch me up for $45. I highly recommend her! read more

Since November of 2010 I've had eyelash extensions on (aside from a month or so around december 2011)...i still LOVE them. I've recently seen some bad press about eyelash extensions. I have to think it must be who you get them done by. I mean, you def loose some natural lashes with extensions, but they make it sound like eventually you'll have NO eyelashes...which just simply isn't the case if you have them done well. Sophia can and WILL do them well. I've had lashes done by several different salons in Orange County, and Sophia's are always the best. They are the most natural looking, the most comfortable on your eyes, and last the longest...plus she has the most reasonable prices! Not to mention, she works much faster than the other places I've used. It's ALL good! For those of you who are having communication problems with her, let me just say she's only one person, and she's REALLY busy because everyone loves her work. What I do is text her and ask when she has an availability. She typically responds within the next day or two with a couple of dates and times that she has available (she knows I usually like to run over on my lunch our, so the dates and times coincide with that)...and we work it out. Bottom line, if you're considering eyelash extensions, Sophia will take care of you. If you're looking for someone to fill your extensions, Sophia will take care of you.
