This event is a disaster! Organizers would not let you into mainstage area until 5 pm when Seventh Heaven was going to begin to play despite the website saying gates open at 4:45! All the security is clueless! Management really dropped the ball on communication. Very disappointing after paying $10 per person online for tickets. Get a brain Last Fling! read more

The Led Zeppelin tribute band was amazing, a nice break from all the several thousands of teens and tweens, apparently whom had parents at the show. The Sunday Night Football RV was also a great bonus! Be interesting to see what happens here next year since Ribfest will be gone. read more

Okay, so it's fun. Better than Ribfest, but not as good (or even trying to be!) as Eyes to the Skies. It's also in September usually and just as the name states, it's the Last Fling before winter and school starting up. Well, I guess school's probably in session, but before everything gets REAL for the winter, you know? Lots of fun vendors that vary every year who are local companies and some national/global. They have carnival rides and it's held on the streets of Downtown Naperville (away from the shops though). There is fair food and always a few bands that are really quite good. The admission to the even is free but obviously the food, rides, and music talent is not. We've seen Jason Aldean and it was AWESOME! We'll be back every year. read more

I love Naperville Last Fling! This year was only the third year going to Last Fling. We've now pretty much figured out what time we need to get to the entrance for the bands to still get a good spot, but not have to sit outside the entire day. I'm sure it's for some sort of control, but it's really annoying that you have to wait in one line to get your ID checked and get a wristband, a second line to buy tickets for beer, and then you can finally get in the actual beer line. It's just an inconvenient process. Also, I don't like that the VIP section has a completely separate entrance. One of our group had bought a VIP ticket thinking she would be able to cross back and forth between sections so she could take advantage of the VIP perks but still be with the group. Unfortunately that's not how it works and she would've been separated from us the entire show. Also, the main section of the concert wouldn't let her in with the rest of us with her VIP ticket. She had to purchase a separate regular section ticket at the gate in order to get into 'our side' of the event. I was also a little sad they changed the cups this year. We always looked forward to taking a few cups home after the event. This year they were a little cheaper and we probably won't be able to use them at home. OAR was a great headliner for the fest this year! I love the band, they sounded great, and the crowd was really energized. Hopefully more bands like this will be there for future years' fests! read more

Mm... Not bad! Enjoyed myself here! There were some nice local restaurants with some pretty tasty dishes. My wife and I split a taste tray from Crescent City Cajun, had some amazing shaved ice and a decent funnel cake. Had some interesting services from some local vendors but those never interest me at fests. The concert by the local band at the Jaycee fest was really nice. They put on a great show. Can't say it was the best fest I've been to but I enjoyed myself today. read more

Been going to the Last Fling since I was a kid. Got to see a bunch of great musical acts over the years. But, there were big changes in 2013. Seems like a lot fewer community booths. *Most importantly,* where was the dog rescue that I always donate to? Where were all of the local mom and pop restaurants? Even the chains Chipotle and Jamba Juice (which have been there previously) were absent. And the Goo Goo Dolls? They were great. Unfortunately, it seems like they oversold tickets this year. I have never been so far back when showing up an hour plus before the main act. And I was stuck next to the rudest, loudest people on top of it. If I thought there was anywhere to move to, I would have. I cannot understand why people would choose to have loud conversations the entire time instead of watching the Goos (especially during their big hits). I'm thinking that I will skip next year. read more

I've always heard about the Last Fling (Labor Day Weekend Fest) in Naperville but hadn't the chance to experience it until this year. I had gone on opening day (Friday) with some friends, in the evening and the crowd was just right. We stayed by the "free music" stage and didn't feel mushed together like how some crowds can get at any other summer fairs. The weather was just cool enough for us to dance and stay warm but not sweat like we've been running a marathon. The local band they had playing that night was called iPop and they did incredible covers from the 80's, 90's, and 2000's. If I was getting married I would so hire them to play at my wedding. Food wise, there were traditional favorites like jumbo corn dogs and strawberry lemonade as well at local flavors from the Melting Pot and Tutto Dolce. And it's not a fair without the carnival rides. They had bumper cars, tilt-a-wirl, and of course the Zipper! They even sectioned off an area for toddler friendly rides and games. read more

I won tickets to the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling through Yelp this year (thanks, Jacqueline!). We had a great time. The festival takes up the area down the riverwalk and near the dandelion fountain and Red Mango. There are two stages-one stage is free with musical acts (Parking lot near Red Mango) and further down the Riverwalk was the paid entry where the headlining acts performed (what my tickets were for). In both areas you have pretty good food and drink vendors. I thought the prices were fine for what you were getting. The musical acts were great on both stages. I particularly liked hearing Rusted Root perform. The space for the concert was very nice and on top of a large hill. Everyone was laid back and it was easy to find a decent spot to see the stage. Overall I think it was a nice way to spend one of the year's last warm weekends. We had a lot of fun! read more

This was my first year going to the Last Fling even thigh I've lived in the area for a while now. I went on Sunday, 9/4/2016 to see Lit, Everclear and Sugar Ray. We brought a blanket and sat about 3/4 of the way up the hill. Great view of the stage and the large monitors were a plus. About 10 minutes into Lit's set the speakers went out. To Lit's credit, they grabbed their acoustic guitars and continued playing while the speaker/generator situation got figured out, but no one outside the standing area right in front of the stage could hear anything. By the time they got it working again Lit only got to play one more song, so it was quite a disappointment. However, there were no other technical problems the rest of the night. Everclear was pretty good and Sugar Ray was great! He definitely got the crowd going the most. As far as the location and setup, it was a breeze walking in. No line, quick bag check and still space left to sit on the hill (we didn't get there until almost 7pm). We took an Uber to avoid parking or having to use the shuttle, so I can't comment on that. There were lots of porta potties, food and drink vendors, and merchandise. We briefly wandered through the carnival area afterwards and it had the standard rides, games and food you would expect. Overall, it was a fun, entertaining, stress-free night. I'm glad we went and if there's a good music lineup I would consider going again in the future! read more

It's a nice event and we had a good time. Enjoyed the games and rides. The food was a little disappointing. I bought a cheeseburger and tater tots for $17. I was expecting so much more because of the price. The tater tots weren't whole and had to eat them with a fork because they were in pieces. The burger was the size of a McDonald's cheeseburger had no flavor. read more
