This is now called The Bear's Paw which is what the pub used to be called over 10 years ago before becoming part of the Last Order's group-not sure if this is still part of the group or not but the pub hasn't changed a lot from before including the cheap prices; although the prices are cheap this isn't a pub I would recommend.
I enjoy visiting a wide range of pubs and bars from the local back street pub to the exclusive cocktail bar however have to the draw the line at this pub and warn that this is quite a rough pub-have been in there in a suit and have felt very uncomfortable. A lot of shouting and loutish behaviour from rough daytime drinkers etc.
It's not that bad that I would refuse to go in but would only go in if needing to catch a bus from the area and the other pubs in the are aren't open or have door staff on so wouldn't be appropriate to go in with shopping bags or brief case etc
The beer is cheap although if the prices are compared to Wetherspoons would much prefer to go in there when taking into account the atmosphere of the pub-they show Sky Sports and have a DJ/Karaoke some times-no food or beer garden with limited selection of beers. read more
