Best choice for my little Bubble! I have moved to Newton 1 month ago, but I still like to take my dog and drive about 10 miles for grooming @ Laundromutt:)

I've been washing my dog at LaundroMutt for a little over a year now (since I moved to Cambridge) and have become increasingly disappointed with the place. It's the only thing like it in the area though, so, frustratingly, I'm sure I'll keep going there, waiting in their long lines, and dealing with their attitudes because, for now, it's still less hassle than washing my dog in the tub at home. I would be remiss, though, not to warn people about a particularly bad experience I had there. During a botched nail clipping, the groomer snapped at my dog for yelping when she hit the quick. I was shocked that she even messed it up in the first place, and then reacted the way she did, because my dog might be the easiest nail clipping in the world-- he just sits there. There was no acknowledgement, no apology, I just paid for the service and left, and my dog bled the entire way home. I haven't gotten his nails clipped there since-- THAT is something I would now rather do at home.

Awesome headquarters for everything DOG! I am never trying to wash my dog at home again. It was so easy to come in to Laundromutt and walk out with a clean dog minutes later. Plus, for a small fee, they cut my dog's nails too! The whole set up here is really nice and they have a lot of treats, toys, and food for your dog as well. I will definitely be back!

Our car after a nail clip there.

This place is great for self service, so easy. I would warn against getting them to clip your dogs nails though. The chap managed to nick a nail on 3 of her paws. Attached a pic of our car after. I will say he was very apologetic when I called to inform him.

My dog is slowly starting to adjust to these regular trips, which is good for her and good for our floors. They also do a good job with grooming. If you don't want a standard breed cut, they will listen to what you ask for and will deliver on that. With their most recent groom, I had waited far too long to take the dogs in because of the particularly cold, snowy winter we had this year. As a result, they were starting to look kind of ridiculous, with fur of many different lengths where I had cut out individual mats on my own. Pet Spa got their fur to a uniform length - without shaving off all their fur entirely - and the dogs are back to looking like their usual adorable selves. The first groomer we tried after moving to the area offered pickup service and had a stay-and-play setup where all the dogs could run around in her back yard for the rest of the day after finishing their groom. It sounded like a great idea, but my dogs were visibly upset when they got home. When I pick my dogs up from Pet Spa, my dogs are happy to see me and are ready to go home (it's basically the dog equivalent of the dentist, after all), but they are still their usual happy-go-lucky selves afterward. Highly recommend.

The retailer's refusal to address the issue initially and their policy of not providing refunds for defective items appears unreasonable and potentially violates consumer protection laws. And yes, she will use her teeth if she feels she has to. Our vet charged us FORTY dollars for a clipping the last time we had an exam, and they didn't even get all of her nails! There were still 3 in the back that needed to be clipped, and they said they weren't able to do it. Huh? For forty bucks and a room full of puppy pros, I'd assume you'd be able to handle clipping my dog's nails - but that is a review for another establishment. ;) Knowing all of this made it tough to take her anywhere... most places wouldn't even attempt it. I read the reviews for Stinky's about doing nails for dogs that are, let's say... persnickety. That sold me... I had to give it a try. In order to get this job done, it took 4 people. Me, my husband, Jo-Ann, and her assistant... but, it DID get done. And my dog was fine - all nails neatly trimmed, no other muss or fuss. She got a treat when we were all done, and she trotted home with us proudly. We have found our place. thank you, JoAnn!
