After 4 teleconference sessions Heather stopped responding to emails and phone calls. Several times across multiple weeks and months we tried reaching out to Heather and to Coastal Virginia Counseling with no response. I even had my personal therapist attempt to reach out professionally and no response was received. A professional therapist ghosting clients in need is one of the most unprofessional things I have ever seen in therapy. Other people have posted positive reviews for this agency so I have to imagine other therapists are more professional but I would strongly advise doing your homework on your potential therapist before accepting therapists with this organization before you place your hopes in receiving therapy.

Any time I reach out with a question she has an answer for me right away. She even remembers which hard candies are my favorites and has a couple ready for me. She has a warm, friendly, down to earth demeanor and it's clear how much she cares. The are just a few small examples of many but are a huge part of my satisfaction with the care I receive. She is a valuable asset to the practice and deserves to be recognized as such.

She took $147.44 out of my account then when I spoke with her she explained that my insurance would pay her back and she would credit my account towards the costs. Well the $147 was not for copay it's something that she said she could do because she was out of network even though the base gave me her information. Moving along the insurance has paid her which I have proof of with the benefits letter. Jodi herself even verbally admitted to it by trying to con me into keeping my daughter there as a patient. Saying how she would give it back to me as a credit. She has even sent me an email saying that I have a credit with her for the amount of $147.44. I can not make this up I'm not pulling a number out of the air. Let me say this Jodi was never my daughters counselor thank God. We loved my daughters counselor but Jodi is the owner who handles billing. I've asked for her to release my money back the same way she took it as we both can see that the insurance paid it. You can't take my money by law if my insurance took care of it already. I just want my money back because this is bad business. This is no way to treat clients who spend their hard earned money with your office and you throw dirt in the their face. She was more worried about me taking down my negative google review than she was about giving me money back. I now have to go to civil court to sue her and I am going to do just that. I've asked repeatedly for my money I even sent her a screenshot of the email she sent me admitting to owing me yesterday evening which was 12/12/2022. At this point its all about the principal of the matter. She is very nasty and talks down to people. I am a military family I need my money. I paid every single copay and anything else that I was supposed to but if I don't owe you then don't steal from me. I have attached a copy of the screenshot containing the email. You will see the credit amount at the top then at the bottom it says new and past due. That was my new bill it was $33 copay so.i have nothing to lie about.

It's important to be an advocate for yourself and she allows me to do that by listening to my concerns and thoughts without ever dismissing me or making me feel like my opinion on my care doesn't matter. I don't think I'll need to go anywhere else because my experience with this place has gone so smooth and perfect. I'm also becoming the person I'm meant to be and able to cope with life so much better thanks to them. My experience has been virtual so I can't comment on how going there would be but anytime I have had to call the people in the office have seemed pleasant and helpful.

This clinic apparently only takes patients on a "case by case" basis. My partner called and…read moreexpressed to the receptionist that she needed help with almost half of the problems on the list of issues this clinic has listed on their website, and felt that she wasn't getting adequate care from her current provider. Of course, my partner took about a week to mentally prepare for this conversation and didn't feel comfortable expressing all of her issues to the receptionist. The next day she received a phone call saying that she didn't qualify for care at this clinic, even though her insurance was accepted and according to the website, she is a perfect candidate for their care. I called the office the next day on her behalf to see what sorts of issues "qualify" for their care, and the receptionist plainly told me that the doctors make the decision based on the single phone call with the receptionist, and that she couldn't tell me what would qualify a person. I asked if my partner could call back and explain herself a little better so that perhaps she could qualify, and the receptionist said no, she would just have to find somewhere else. We were both very excited at the prospect of a clinic that took our insurance that was an accessible distance from our home, but it turned out to be a waste of time and a crock of bullshit. TLDR: Don't get your hopes up about calling this place, they screen from one call with a receptionist and won't accept people who are explicitly asking for help with issues listed on their website, so I'm not sure who they help. We are very disappointed don't want other people who are already struggling with their own mental health to have to go through more trouble, so we will be posting this review on all platforms to let people know. Would give 0 stars if we could.
