I went to meet the cat and was told by several volunteers there that I was very brave! alarm bells started to go off but I met the cat in question and he seemed good, came up to me allowed me to per him. I said to Christine that I will come back and see him again but she was very insistent I took him that day. I ended up agreeing and paying a lot more than the suggested donation. Once I got the cat home it quickly became clear why I was warned. He was hostile from day one and hissed and growled upon approach. this is normal initially but despite trying everything in my power to bond with the cat for several weeks the situation stayed the same. I contacted the Moggery only to told to try tuna... I stuck things out for almost five months before deciding to take him back for everyone's sake. I took him back and emailed the Moggery about meeting any other cats and they just stopped replying. Be cautious.

The woman who runs it is absolutely lovely, and has a lot of rules for who are and who aren't allowed to adopt a cat or kitten, so that they go to the best homes. I've volunteered here myself, and the people I worked with were all lovely, so I recommend it for all cat lovers.

Sarah also does 1:1 sessions if you need extra help with a specific problem. Classes last an hour and are very organised - she will show you how to do exercises (such as sit, down, stay, recall) and you do them one at a time - great because you get 1:1 attention from Sarah but it does mean you have to keep your dog still whilst everyone else has their turn! Don't worry if you think that excludes your pooch - that is exactly what she is here to help with, controlling your dog. As well as lessons inside she will take dogs out for walks along the roads which is great practice. She does work dogs to getting their Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards, but you don't have to go that far if you don't want to. A six week course is £50 and you will join a group suitable for your dog's ability - beginner, intermediate or advanced. Its a lovely feeling when she asks you to move up a group! Apart from training your dog its great to meet up with other owners and realise that it isn't just your dog that is doing this, that and the other!

The staff are always warm and welcoming and go the extra mile to make sure your pets are well looked after. They were happy for me to bring my own treats in for my cat to give her every day for no extra charge. They also offer a grooming and walking service for dogs which meant my sisters dog was smelling beautiful when we came to collect her! Having looked around the pens they appear clean and tidy, with cat toys and scratching posts and a heated bed area for the winter when its cold. All in all cedar lodge is a place that I feel safe leaving my pets knowing that they will look after them as I would want, and since I have found them I wont use any where else. They are competitively priced and are really a lucky find.

I must have been around eight years old if not younger than that at the time, when grandma and granddad visit us in Cardiff with their dog. Kelly was his name... he was gorgeous and used to play with him many times even when he was old. He hurt his ankle whilst they stayed with and so we took him down to Penylan's veterinary and the vet people were very good with him and they were very quick in trying to get him mended again. Grandma was in tears and those of us who went with the dog had to say good bye there and then because he was so poorly by then, being old an all... It is such a sad thing to be a part of: the time when you have to say good bye to an adorable pet who you have had many memories with, but at least we got time to do so... And then it wasn't and ending to a life that was too tragic; unlike for my brother's cat, but that is another story... Enjoy your time with them to the full whilst you still can for time and life are both very precious towards all life. I recommend this place to all animal lovers.

When I intended on buying a harness for my dog she was really helpful I ended up going back with the dog and she showed me how to put it on and made sure it was adjusted and a correct fit. She is always willing to give advice and information. Nothing to to much trouble she helped me choose a dry food and ordered in the size sack I wanted without any problem. She phoned me when the sack arrive. Nothing to to much hasstle. Friendly informative and welcomes pets inside the shop. The store also sells livestock but the shop kepper will only sell to you if you suitable knowledge and are perpared to look after the animal etc. The only negitives i can think of are i found some items were a little more expensive in the shop that in larger pet shops but worth paying more for the advice i recieved.

Her temperament is second to none and her markings are perfect, thanks to such wonderful parents. Sumo, the super stud, provided her with the calmest personality and Tyler can be credited with her stunning features. I have never seen a Rottweiler receive so many compliments before, and I have had Rottweilers for many years, and this little girl is very special! Poppy puts a smile on everyones face and has certainly changed previously dog wary people's opinions on larger dogs.
