Husband and I ordered the Combo with Kailua Pork and Pork Lau Lau which included rice, Lomi Salmon and a congealed coconut dessert. We meant to order the Kailua Pork and Cabbage our mistake. Have to agree with what findme said. The pearlridge location has really bad customer service. By bad I mean non existent. The dude taking your order doesn't even look at you, greet you, nothing. Just "cash or card." I'd go somewheres else if you can. The food is really good but the service is really not. read more

The Deluxe Hawaiian catered option included: Kalua Pork, Squid Luau, Lomi Salmon, Teri Chicken, Chicken Long Rice, Poi, Haupia Sweet Potato, Poke' Rice and Pineapple, I also added Lau Lau for 20! Wow oh wow! No dryness in the Kalua Pork, Squid Luau impeccable, Lomi Salmon was perfect as was the ENTIRE meal executed to perfection! My guests kept asking me where I catered from, and I replied from Laverne's! They have a Commercial kitchen and Food Truck in Waikele where the deliciousness is prepared. While I love the food(s) combo number 4 squid luau and chicken long rice the service needs serious regrouping. The guy (big) usually behind guarding the cash register NEVER greets you or smiles. While the cook server to his left (your right) works the hardest preparing all the orders. The vibes I receive from him are as if he doesn't want to work but has to be there sitting and just breathing. All he wants to know is whatcha like, are you paying cash or card. Lucky if you hear a thank you Then you wait on the side for the cook to hand you your order. If that's not enough wonderful service m, let's NOT even include a trash bin to let you toss your trash away once you eat your meal. You better takeout your trash and take it with you you no good customer! And don't comeback because we are hiring too! After writing this article and reviewing others who wrote in. I was surprised that others felt the same way and experienced what I had been through. Travis responded to one customer about a year ago AND THE SERVICE IS STILL SHITTY as noted by others. I needed lunch so I stopped by to check out the food trucks at the Pearlridge parking lot near the intersection of Kamehameha hwy and Pali Momi street, You will see Laverne truck in the mix of trucks. I got the laulau and kalua pig plate for $16.75, it was a little more than I wanted to spend but they gave a large portion of food that I ate the leftovers for dinner! Two meals in one. The plate came with Kalua pork, lau lau, two scoops of rice, lomi salmon and haupia, The lau lau was good, the meat was a little dry but the other side to counter that would be to put a chunk of fat inside and maybe I don't want to eat more fat so it was good. The kalua pig was very good, smoked but not too much and lots of flavor to go perfectly with the rice. The lomi salmon was good as well as the haupia, I want to go back to try some of their other dishes. I would get this plate again since the price was well worth it. read more

I love their food. I suggest you call in your order so your food is ready when you get there. Sometimes the wait is long because there are a lot of orders especially during lunch time. I've been to Laverne's lunch truck twice. Always wanted to try their squid luau & hawaiian plate. It was great & I enjoyed it. The second time was beef stew. We had open air outside seating, which was comfortable. I'm a local senior. I would go back to support the food truck industry. They need all the help, during these challenging times. read more

When I went, there was no line thankfully. I was greeted and asked what I would like. I chose to try the beef curry small plate with a scoop of rice and Mac salad. The food was pleasantly delicious!!!!!! I read some reviews before I went so I was a bit skeptical however, my experience was delightful. I recieved quality customer service and food. Always great food whether I'm eating from the original location or the truck at Pearlridge. I eat here pretty often and the food is VERY consistent. You have to try the Butter Garlic Mahi! The Pearlridge location actually knows me by name/face pretty well and can guess my order once they figure out it's me. We were visiting family in Aiea and were excited to find a local food food truck. However, very disappointed because after we got back to Waikiki, we found no mac salad for 5 meals. I guess they replaced it with lomi salmon that had very little salmon in it (tasted like salsa), but they should've told us at least they were substituting. We all like mac salad and weren't happy.
