Cross Middle School is an AMAZING place for students to learn, grow, and discover new interests. I have no idea why there are soo low reviews :( ! The school offers a wide variety of programs and extracurricular activities both during and after school hours where students can have fun and learn new things. From student council and yearbook to NJHS (National Junior Honor Society), card club, creative writing, games club, Odyssey of the Mind, marching band, and a range of sports, there's something for ALL. In addition to these programs, Cross Middle School has MANY electives to choose from as a class which helps with, leadership, and personal growth. Students can choose from Advanced Band, Chorus, Orchestra, Art, Beginning Band, Career Exploration, Computer Programming, Conversational Spanish, Guitar, Harelson Helper, Intermediate Band/Chorus/Orchestra, Introduction to Sign Language, Introduction to Theater, Jazz Band, Lab Science, Library Aide, Musical Theater, Odyssey of the Mind (OM), Office Aide, Percussion, RAMS 101 (6th grade requirement), Spanish 1, STEM, Teacher Aide, Technology, Dance 101, and WEB Leadership. (tell me if I am missing something lol.) These engaging classes are part of students' daily schedules, making this school a great diverse community. There are also opportunities for students that excel beyond and Cross has advanced math and reading classes. There are also classes for students that need extra support. Overall YOU will for SURE fit in with one of the programs. Cross Middle School is also known for its fun events, including dances, festivals, meetings, and performances--giving students plenty of chances to connect, celebrate, and have fun. Volunteering opportunities are always available, allowing students to explore and grow in leadership. Mostly, the teachers and staff are friendly, supportive, and love helping every student reach their full potential. Special recognition goes to Mr. Lee, Mrs. Deeb, Mrs. Writh, Mrs. B, and Mr. Taylor, all who are SO kind, and make this school a better place for all! The school is also inclusive, offering programs and support for students with disabilities, making sure everyone fits in. While there is always room for improvement--such as fixing issues with bullying, phone usage, and discipline--the staff is present to create a safe and welcoming environment for all. One standout program at Cross Middle School is W.E.B. (Where Everybody Belongs) Leadership. W.E.B. Leaders are carefully trained to mentor incoming sixth graders and new students. After summer training, they organize the sixth grade Welcome Program during registration week. Each W.E.B. Leader is paired with a group of new students, guiding them through team-building activities, helping them make friends, answering questions, and leading campus tours. The W.E.B. Leadership curriculum goes beyond orientation, providing ongoing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills through quarterly projects, making spirit days, and academic follow-ups. W.E.B. Leaders are also expected to complete 10 hours of community service each quarter, showing the importance of service and school spirit. So you won't have to worry about fitting in the school! Open enrolling my son at Cross Middle School has been phenomenal for him. He has been able to be challenged in the gifted (REACH) program, take higher level mathematics (Algebra I), be a part of the school community (after-school tutoring), play in the jazz band, and participate in Odyssey of the Mind and Future Problem Solving. The staff (including leadership) is extremely caring and he continues to grow socially, emotionally, and academically because he is being challenged and encouraged. I received frequent emails from his teachers letting me know what is going on in the classroom and what projects and homework are due (or will be). He truly loves Cross and looks forward to what opportunities will come as he advances through other grades. I can honestly say that his happiness at school truly warms my heart. read more

Worst middle school ever. If you really care about your youth please do not send them there. Security guards will stick up a ruler inside your shorts to see the length of the shorts. This school is by far one of the worst schools I've ever put my kids in. The teachers and Principal Gutierrez are so disrespectful and rude. They don't care for these kids, especially for those who struggle with mental health. My daughter struggles with anxiety and depression. Unfortunately it lead to her smoking marijuana which definitely does not justify for her actions but this school knew she was going to therapy and getting help outside from school cus this school does not provide any kind of help for struggling students. So many kids have been caught left and right doing things they shouldn't be doing and my daughter happened to get the punishment of long term suspension and doing school online. Which made her depression even worse and lead her to overdose. I begged the amphi district to let her back cus how scared I was to lose my daughter cus she was so depressed being home all day with no social interaction to keep her mind off the bad stuff. This school completely ignored the situation not even offering to help. Instead Mr. Gutierrez gave up on my daughter but continues to keep students that keep getting caught with drugs and fighting all the time. Seems like favoritism at this point. I'm so glad my daughter is no longer here and gets to start fresh next year. read more

My family attends this school. My family member had to wait 3 weeks to get his/her P.E shirt! The teachers are not very specific but they try. Overall the school is great the administration is awesome and cross is very organized. From the morning drop off to the buss drop off. read more
