This past week end I clicked on a link on my computer that sent all my files to OneDrive. This resulted in my whole Outlook email account disappearing! When it became obvious I was incapable of fixing the problem, I took both my desktop and my laptop to this company. I have had a support account with them for 12 years; they have never failed me. This time was no different. They have me back up and running, with my email restored! I could not be happier with this service, plus they are such friendly people to work with. Brought my iPhone 7+ in for cracked screen replacement. Employee agreed, said everything would be fine. Half hour into the repair I hear him say "oh s***" from the back. He comes out showing me the home button he had just broken, and told me that he would reduce the price of the repair because of that, trying to stiff me out of my money even though he had just broken my device. Told me the repair can only be done at Apple. What? I urged him to give it to me for free because he had just caused IRREVERSIBLE damage to my phone. In the end, the screen was replaced, but the BUTTON doesn't work. To clarify: the button is "married" to the screen. Only Apple has the software to conduct this repair. I didn't know this. What good does a screen to for me if the digital touch button doesn't even work? The owner is acting as though giving me a screen for free was some kind of "gift" for my troubles. Apple appraised the total repair to be $180 for the screen AND the button, as they come as one setup. NYPC should have known this, when taking devices into their hands for repairs. No one asked me if the device was/was not under warranty. "Assumptions" are not an excuse. You broke my phone. Without a button, it's useless. To fix what NYPC had broken, at Apple, it will cost me $180. The problem I have with NYPC is that they agreed to do a job they couldn't do, and it's going to cost me $180 to fix this. Nobody reached out to offer to cover these damages. Avoid taking any Apple products here. I'm sure NYPC does many successful repairs, but the way my device was handled is inexcusable. DO NOT agree to do a repair you cannot do. RE: Owner responded. My response to him: Noah, clearly you nor your staff understand how the newer iPhones work. The touch-ID sensor, which you broke, is "married" to OEM screens. As a consumer, I didn't know this. You agreed to the repair, being a technician, you should not have done this knowing your staff is as incompetent as they are. Your "assumption" that my device is under warranty is one of the most childish, pathetic excuses I've ever heard from a business owner. Own up to your mistakes and increase your credibility by doing so. Apologizing for the damage you've caused will not help the expenses I have to cover for YOUR negligence. I advise you to direct message me, so we can exchange information since you refuse to cover the Apple repair (I will show you the invoice), therefore I can take immediate legal action against you. His quote was just over $100 cheaper than what the Apple store quoted me. I brought my HTC One cell phone in to NYPC computer repair (yes they work on mobile phones too) because the charging port was lose and not charging the phone. It must have gotten lose when I dropped it a few days earlier. I dealt with Angel who opened the phone and determined that we needed a new charging port because the pins had been damaged and it would be impossible to repair. He showed me exactly where the problem was inside the phone and he ordered a new charging port ($25 for this phone). A few days later it came in and he did the repair in about 30 minutes at a very reasonable price. Cheaper than the other places I had called. I have a Asus and it became way slower than before. On last week, it was attacked by virus and finally I decided to do something with my laptop. I find this store on Yelp and when the first time I saw Angel, I knew this is the guy that I am looking for. He is such a nice guy and knows everything about computer. He gave me several options with different prices. All the prices are very reasonable and I decided to change my hard drivers to solid ones. He told me this change could make my laptop 15 times fast, and it turns out it becomes way way fast than before. It took me 3 minutes to start it and right now it is 7 seconds. I like using "mom and pop" businesses for things like computer repair, so I decided to give NYPC a chance to replace my laptop battery - big mistake. I paid about $200 and I truly believe they did not even change out the battery because it never worked for more than a couple of hours and my laptop is an expensive, highly rated one, but it has a battery that is internal and basically has to be removed by a technician. It's been about a year and a half and I timed my battery today after fully charging it and it only lasted 48 minutes before shutting down. Now I know that a $1500 computer has a battery that should last more than that. Shortly after I left my battery with this company, I had over 15 unauthorized purchase transactions on my bank account - coincidence or fraud? My experience with this company, it's customer service, and the supposed hardware/materials they use hasn't been a positive one. I will not return to this business and will have few options left in this valley, but it appears I will have to go corporate (e.g. Best Buy) for my computer needs, which is rarely my first option. read more

In a previous review, I gave a very low rating to this company due to the fact that the (used) tablet I bought there had a Spanish keyboard which I was not informed about and did not discover until I got home. When I returned, the clerk that helped me originally was not very helpful in solving the problem. However, when the owner became aware of the situation, he immediately called, apologized, and overcompensated me for the English keyboard that I ordered. Great customer focus. My PS3 died and it didn't involve a yellow light of death. I guessed at what the problem was and Angel confirmed it when the significant other and myself brought in our console to NYPC Repair (Older model PS3, soldering issue). Anyhow, Angel was very prompt in keeping us updated as he attempted to fix the problem. At the end he wasn't able to save the PS3, and didn't end up charging us the diagnostic cost anyway since it was beyond repair. I've brought my iPhone 5s in to have the screen fixed twice and they always get it back to me the same day or early next morning + a screen protector to help me keep from breaking it again. I've brought my boyfriend's phone in a few more times than mine along with computers from his business and they're always able to help fix them or give me an honest answer about whether the computer is worth fixing or not. My son had gotten his IPhone wet when the protective case failed. It wouldn't turn on and had a lot of water damage. They took everything apart and let it dry out overnight. I initially took my gaming computer to NYPC back in April (just got around to writing a review today.) for what I thought was a virus. Well, Angel took a look at it for me and called me back to say that the motherboard had gone bad he explained to me that it would be cheaper and easier to replace my computer than try to repair it so he offered me a couple of different computers. The computer I chose is better than my original and Angel was able to salvage my old hard drive and installed it in my new computer which was awesome.
