Another good meal at lazy dog, but I have to add something. I don't know why I haven't mentioned it before but they need to update their beer club thing. I've been a beer club member basically since they started it I don't know how many years it's been but still even to this day. I give them my phone number and then they'll forget to take the discount off, for whatever reason so then you end up giving your phone number like three different times they need to come with a better program or just end it. It happened today I started off gave my number right away and I get the bill and they didn't take off the discount. I don't know how many times I've walked out of this restaurant going. It's called the $15 Fireside Favorites menu and it's a great value! You get your choice of a scratch-made entrée + personal S'more Brownie Sundae or Bread Pudding for just $15. I would highly recommend the S'mores Brownie though, it's their best dessert now. The restaurant as a whole is huge and the rustic vibes is aesthetically pleasing. The food candy bacon really good ; sweet & salts with the seasoning that takes it to another level. Food is always great. Favorite place for kids to visit when they get the award certificate for free kids meal. Service is quick and servers are always attentive. Came to this location when my friend was in town, her hotel was near this location and it was her first time. From the start, the host didn't make us wait the quoted time, "sweeet!" The server was a pretty red head latina and asked us if it was our first time. They brought us an appetizer and let me say, we ordered a little bit of everything and my guest really liked the food. I imagined my thai noodles with more flavor but still wasn't bad. The steak and fries showed up and did what they were supposed to do -- solid, dependable, no complaints by my father . The shrimp taco? Creamy, flavorful, and honestly a pleasant surprise to my mom. It was their birthdays so I'm glad they enjoyed what they got. Now the candied bacon... WOW. The perfect sweet-and-spicy combo while still being savory. So good it deserves its own moment (Which it did cause you can buy it on its own). They put that same bacon in the grilled cheese and completely changed the trajectory of what I thought a grilled cheese could be. Game. Changed. The tomato soup was fine, but I couldn't help thinking a tomato basil soup would've elevated it way more. Missed opportunity there. The chicken Alfredo was good and flavorful, but it could've been just a tad creamier to really hit. Still enjoyable, just slightly shy of greatness. Desserts though? They understood the assignment. She introduced herself and informed us of ways Lazy Dog has supported youth programs and organizations. It is nice to hear how they give back to the community. I had a superb time at this location. The place was way more spacious than I thought, and when we arrived, we didn't have to wait for a table and were seated right away. I came here for a night out with friends, and we were absolutely shocked by how kind the waitress was. She was super patient with us when we were ordering, as we (as a group) did make quite a few adjustments to our burgers. To top it off, the manager was also wonderful! My friends were inside, I just plopped down at a large corner table open in the patio. My friends joined us. Service was slow, & not always attentive. We were a party of 4 + dog. It seemed we had to ask 2ce for everything. Although we all ordered together, food was brought out in parts, not all served at once, & waited longer periods of time for refills of drinks. Various menu items, (especially french fries) only came with a different sauce in top to change what a french fry was called. I can't say it was just that perhaps our waiter was distracted or busy, because food was brought out by various server's. I believe logistics & a bit more organization in the service department should be addressed to make this wonderful restaurant flow like a symphony! On behalf of the cooks, my compliments! The food was fresh, flavorful & definitely signature markings. Begining with the various mocktails, to the appetizers, Togarashi Edamame Beans, Lemon Pepper Tots, the green salad, to the main course entrees of 2 orders of Battered Fish & Chips, Blacked Shrimp Tacos, Pot Roast Sandwich, the taste buds were thrilled & delighted! Since this place 1st opened in Downey, I wanted to try it out. I am a Downey local, Warren 97! I finally came through 3-4 months ago and what a terrible experience..... The dude that "offered" to help me seem to be more interested in what the women waitresses were talking about! Here is this "Man/Person" taking a very long time to take my order just to also go and be having a conversation with the waitress ladies.....
