All those foreign beers are nice and cold and our local ones are piss warm. Have seen some serious theft in here, expensive bottles being boosted in plain sight and the staff do not say or do anything. Ridiculous. And the gravelly voiced homeless man at the front door is not a great look.

Located in a not so glamorous…read moreplaza at the corner of Port Union rd and Lawrence Ave, this little LCBO still manages to keep me pretty happy. The staff are friendly and the small store (maybe 1,200 sf) carries lovable variety of old and new world wines with a quaint vintage section. But what I love the most about this particular LCBO is that they are constantly introducing new wines from different vineyards. This way, it saves me a trip and an aggravating 45 min stroll through a 10,000 sf store only to find the same wines stocked in bigger LCBO stores. Oh and if your hands are full, they'll even carry out your case of wine to your car. Now, that's a service you can be happy about. :)

i had a similar experience with another Brampton lcbo, so i will try to not "cut copy and paste"…read moreword for word. i placed an order in advanced for a discontinued item that funny enough, this Brampton location was one of the only locations in Ontario to have the item. i called in advanced to put the item on reserve, to which the LCBO only does same day pick ups, no problem i thought as i had some running around to do in Brampton that evening. after dealing with the parking lot being completely jammed with people and cars i got into the location. i didn't get to see much of the location as i was just picking up an order, but every till had a cashier and every cashier had a line up of 5 or more people deep (friday night yay!) i went straight for customer service and explained to them i had an order on hold, it took them about five minutes to get my order together. what was really weird and i didn't clue into this until after words, but i had to pay for my order first in order to inspect the order? thankfully i took a couple of minutes to inspect my order after the fact, which was perfect in every way, but the lady who grabbed my order was chatting to me about my kilt afterwords, a funny thing to talk about while I'm verifying my order. the not so impressive thing is the parking lot, unfortunately i have the same comment on another review i did for the same plaza. the parking lot is a nightmare and not very friendly to get in and out of, a lot of the drivers i noticed were speeding, cutting people off, and generally very aggressive in trying to get in or out plus parking. be cautious of this aspect if you come here. great lcbo location, just a weird parking lot situation.

Some the lower end of drinkable single malts is represented, but you get the strong sense that this LCBO's margins come exclusively from the section full of pre-refrigerated vodka coolers and beer. It would get 2 stars from me, except: 1) Their craft beer selection is above average - only gets a few shelves but I get the impression that someone who cares is in charge there; I've been surprised more than once. 2) They do have a vintages section, which leans heavily on California (unsurprising) and Italy (slightly moreso). It's small, but the people running it are helpful and active, often handwriting their own tasting notes on the shelf labels. So it ekes out a 3. To be honest, the LCBO at Steeles and Rutherford is superior in basically every way, but if I honestly felt that this one was a 2, I'd be driving down there all the time, and I'm not. No pro-tips, I'm afraid. If you're reading this trying to decide whether it's worth the longer trip south I'd say: this place will get it done for standard booze, head south for anything interesting. And, I suppose, if you need vodka coolers on the double, this place will have 'em, cold.

Cyndi was absolutely helpful and knowledgeable in the vintage wine section :) DC and I were looking for something expensive for our uncle's milestone birthday celebration next week. We were instantly sold when she show us the Caymus Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon ($103.95). She also lead us to her favourite picks from the same vineyard - the Meiomi Pinot Noir ($26.95) was very delightful wine, and the Mer Soleil Chardonnay ($34.95). Great recommendations! She said anything that Caymus touches turn to gold lmao. Now I am curious to try that $100 bottle of Cab Sauv ;) Someone get me that for my birthday please lol.

Tip: Collect Aeroplan points here…read more I have passed by this LCBO for years. It's in the same plaza as Longo's, Starbucks, and Rexall that I frequent almost weekly. On Saturday, I felt like getting a cooler or vodka soda. I decided to drop by after fetching groceries. It was raining, but it wasn't a huge downpour like it was when I was putting my groceries into my car! I parked fairly close to the entrance, which is off to the side of the building. I went in without an umbrella, as it was steps away. It was interesting seeing gifts for mom. I don't know whether this display spilled over from Mother's Day or if this store chooses to celebrate moms all the time. I frankly like the latter initiative. This store has an extensive local craft beer section, which happens to be in the fridge area. Every craft beer that I have had locally was right in front of me. It was impressive. It also made me realize that I have consumed a lot of beer over the years... haha! I have my usual Cottage Springs line of vodka sodas and coolers that I enjoy. I wanted something different. I got a can of Nutrl raspberry vodka. It was going for $3.50. I went to pay at the counter. I got a cheerful man. It looks like all LCBO staff at the checkout wear black gloves. He scanned my Aeroplan barcode off my phone. I then paid with my credit card. I tapped and all was great. I thanked the man and headed to my car. I put my drink away and continued with running errands. Last night, I had the raspberry vodka. It was perfect. It had decent raspberry flavour with a strong vodka presence. It didn't have any added sugar, so I was happy. I'd get it again. It was nice to finally drop by this store. There's lots of parking and it's as crazy as other LCBO stores on major streets. (219)

He took time to engage with my mom (a senior), asked her questions and sweetly teased her and brought a huge smile to her face. We were just back there yesterday and the gentlemen was out stocking shelves. He remembered us and again was very helpful. My mom commented that this is what customer service used to be like. Kudos to Mr. Kent at the LCBO in Newmarket for his help and is awesome disposition. Apparently he is just Christmas help - too bad!

Not All LCBO locations are created equally. This one has a lot of homeless and low income type…read morepeople pan handling outside the door, it seem like the little strip mall that it's in is very ghetto. One you are inside the store it's not much different then most other LCBO locations, I guess you just need to get passes the front. I was still able to get all my alcohol so it seems to serve its purpose.
