We arrived at the shop to a clean, shiny and well cared for bike. Thiery was friendly and helpful throughout the process with a great sense of humour. A wonderful 3 days included some seaside/cliff side curves and twists, lunch in Cannes during the film festival, riding through Monte Carlo on the F1 track post time trials, seaside roads into Italy and mountain roads to Eze and Vence. The owner of the company responded by saying in the rudest and most arrogant way. After returning home, I called him to say that the problem hadn't been resolved and he, incredibly, hung up on me. This payment literally disappeared into thin air, and was missing for 14 working days. It was an abhorent amount to be charged for two average hybrid bikes in the first place (we paid 250E for our car) and they certainly weren't worth that much. To then experience what felt like our money being stolen, and being left with £6 in my account for the entire rest of the holiday, was absolutely dispicable. A long and drawn out process of emails between Holiday Bikes and my bank to get the open deposit closed by Holiday Bikes was the only thing that stopped this going on even longer. Avoid like the plague unless you like having over £600 robbed from your bank by a disinterested and second rate rental firm.
