A small warm interior with some tables outside façons the Château du Ducs de Bretange. A little cool weather with rain kept us indoors but it was nice and cozy. The servers were excellent. Two of us started with Huîtres ( oysters) and Clams farcie. The oysters were No 2 sized. Interestingly served with butter alongside the minionette sauce. It was a nice touch and enjoyable that way. The clams were tasty but very tiny. My friend had a potimarron soup ( a squash that looks a little like a pumpkin also known as Hokaido squash or chestnut pumpkin squash). The soup was puréed to a foam with some savory Chantilly on top. He couldn't stop exclaiming with joy. His main dish was steak tartare. Wow! Small chunks of very tender raw beef mixed with their special herbs and ingredients. Smashingly good. I had the Magret de Canard. The duck breasts were thick, cooked pink in the center and tasty but not tender. In fact they were quite chewy. If they were tender I would have awarded 5 stars for this restaurant. They had really nice wines by the glass. read more
