What to say? Well, OK....
So, I love the atmosphere, the cute interior and the super local feeling to it; the business owners run around and work with passion - you can see that. The menu is extensive, both for food and wines, and I love that they have a cute terrace outside!
Some things I felt medium about; we wanted to come here dor lunch, however the place closed without a specific reason... We stayed in the neighbourhood and after reading the reviews (OK, have the Yelp app translate them as my French is très horrible), really wanted to try it. Quite disappointing, but - needless to say -we came back. The menu is handwritten on chalkboard, as my French is très horrible, I couldn't figure out what's what and the owners weren't really helpful in helping us out there. After staring at it, trying to make sense of what-was-what, we ordered some 'safe' choices such as entrecôte and duck. We're in France, they know these dishes!
The starter (Tartine au pesto d'artichauts, jambon cru et Parmesan) was absolutely amazing! Seriously recommending this one - order it if it's still on the menu! Both main courses were very bland I'm afraid and I know 'ratatouille' and normally I love it - this had simmered for so long, that it was almost baby food....
The wine was lovely! Again, we asked for a recommendation for red wine and described our taste & preferences (and with "we" I mean: my boyfriend - as his French is waaaay better than mine). Again, not much help here...
I get that it might have been busy we were trying to be as "French" as possible - in politeness and language. However, we're not French and little help goes a long way... Overall, our night was OK but no next time pour moi. read more
