Lots of special dishes from the region however my local colleagues coerced me to having a healthy serving of truffade, salad and cured ham. To do to use this culinary adventure was copious amounts of wine to wash it down. Quite the meal for lunchtime however I've learned the French typically eat their biggest meal of the day at lunch. Not sure how they stay awake for those 2pm after lunch PowerPoint presentations however that's discussion for another day. Back to the food the truffade was creamy delicious however the service was very slow. This could have been that our group of 16 people took over the restaurant and overwhelmed them. One of my colleagues ordered a steak and it must have been served 20 min after our big group was served. This came with a (je mexcuse. Le chef et Juste a preparer cuisson votre assiessette). Overall the food was on the better side of okay but not amazing.

This is such a great place, my absolute favourate! In nice weather one can have coffee on the…read moreveranda, and when it is not so nice there is the wonderful experience of eating good food in a completely over the top decorated ranch style (?) restaurant. I sought refuge there on many a cold night, and the warm glow of the orange/red lamps and friendly service never failed to lift my spirits. Cosy warm home like - eaterias don't come better than this. Beware of the huge portions, though - I ended up ordering from the children's menu unless I was famished. And don't feed the leftovers to Simba, the friendly labrador - he has been put on a diet!

The waiter forgot our bottle of wine, and after flagging him down, he left and came back to report that only a half bottle was available; he/they forgot to chill a full bottle. Fine, we understand one mistake. Our dinner arrived, each of us getting one of the two different heated cheese platters. Not great but not bad. After taking our coffee and dessert orders, a party of 20 arrived, and I think our waiter became flustered, because after delivering our desserts, we never received our coffees. We waited a long time and finally decided to pay. We put the credit card out and again, waited. No one checked on us or gave us eye contact to flag down. Finally, we gave up and went to the bar to pay. The woman was nice, seemed surprised that we were there, she printed and gave us the bill, and sure enough, we were charged for a full bottle of wine and the 2 coffees that never arrived. We explained what happened, and she took off the wine entirely, and apologized. Unfortunately, it didn't make up for our overall experience.
