Both my wife and I supported and bought a few items, etc. So many food options. Fresh produce, meats, flowers, etc. Wineries here representing their vineyards also. All different kinds of merchandise for sale - Thrift items, to "dollar" store items, to custom made jewelry and leather pieces, etc. Ambiance - See all my pictures. This market is HUGE!! Way bigger than I expected. Maybe the biggest market we have been to since arriving in France. Public toilets nearby, my first discovery. I felt like a kid trying to figure it out. FYI - The toilet cleans itself after each use, so be patient. Oh, and I can NOT recommend the urinal... Service - Good. They are here to sell. Price - From inexpensive to expensive. Depends on what you buy, eat, or drink. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success.

Came to the Bastille Market to try one of the rotisserie chickens from here. I don't remember the…read morename of the exact place, but it was the last bird I consumed in France. My swan song from a disappointing trip in the bird department. Off the eye test, it doesn't get much better. The beautiful sight of tissi's rotating in front of a fire breathing oven, potatoes in the tray below collecting the chicken juices as they fell, had me ready to run around the Bastille plaza yelling "LE MOUVEMENT!!". I thought this was going to be my first high level bird in the City of Light. Much to my chagrin, the one I got was just lukewarm. I was ready for my fingerprints to be fully burned off. There was so much potential here, but as always, I have to judge what's in front of me. If I don't have my integrity I have nothing. It landed at an 8.1/10 on the restaurant scale which is good, but if it was hot it could have been up there with the greats in the rare 9 territory. Unrealized potential is one of the most depressing things in the world. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

This superette has the most attractive arrangement of produce just under the awning. Not only was it nicely arranged, but it also always looked super fresh and ready to eat. Inside is super tiny (about four aisles), but you will find everything from beverages (juice, water, soda) to sandwiches to cookies to carrefour suchard candy (oui oui). Prices are reasonable, and there's a good selection of pantry, produce, and other miscellaneous items that you'd find at a regular market and convenience store. I believe a father/son own this superette, as we saw the son every night (of our 6 nights in Paris), and his father on one of the nights. You can tell they take great pride in their superette. We would always see the son rearranging the produce or organizing the beverages. Every night, we would stop in so Mom could buy her one produce item-banana (for the next morning). He always greeted us very warmly, and with that smile of recognition (like he'd say to himself, "Hey, it's these ladies again.. Nice to see them again type of thing"). He'd ring us up very happily, and say something to us in French (which I believe was complimentary as he was smiling at us and laughing with us). One night, we even surprised him and bought more than just the produce, but water, suchard candy, and gum. Even though he spoke little English, we knew he was appreciative and happy to see us. It's like coming home every time we walked into Superette Beaumarchais. Will miss seeing our friend and daily visits at Superette Beaumarchais. Until next time, Au revoir...

Superette Beaumarchais - I think all of this cost around 13€... at home the wine and salami alone would have cost that

To see what the locals eat, drink, do, etc. Decent size market, both indoors and outdoors. Not sure what the relationship is between the Aligre Market and Beauvau Covered Market, but because they are literally next to each other. I feel they were the same/similar market. So this review will reflect that. The products/produce are so fresh and flavorful. Ripe. Meats, seafood, flowers, etc. Everything is so fresh. There is even a "thrift" shop market here?!?! Ambiance - Decent size, both indoor and outdoor. Again, I am connecting the two markets. Service - Good. Price - Reasonable. Expect farmers market prices. Drafted in 2019, decided to post for future reference: This…read morewas my favorite farmer's market in Paris. Tons of fresh fish, meat (both raw and prepared), cheese, and many fruit stalls. I especially loved the prepared meat in the stall near the entrance (they have many prepared items to choose from--I ended up loving the duck foie gras and duck rillette). Also, people were helpful and willing to deal with my poor French :) As another reviewer mentioned, there aren't many (perhaps any) ready-to-way meals. But I wasn't looking for that, and I found the quality to be fantastic.
