Omg this place is AMAZING! In my opinion it ranks up there with the very best in the Maritimes. Where to begin? The staff are engaged, happy, welcoming and genuinely there to delight. The art and decor - I didn't know where to look next! Gorgeous but simple and cozy. The views are beautiful. We started with the baked feta and tomato dish - spectacular! I definitely recommend it. My husband had the burger and said it was one of the best he has ever had - and if you knew how many burgers my husband had this summer, you would find this impressive. I had the char. I am writing this and I'm still full, but thinking about the char makes me feel hungry again. It was cooked to perfection. The rice and the side salad were amazingly delicious sides. The wine menu is great and so is the selection of beer. The desserts were tempting - homemade of course - but we passed this time. We may head back tomorrow! This would be a perfect place for an intimate wedding or large dinner party. And I can't sign off without mentioning our beautiful and lovely server, Sam. She was warm and friendly and offered to take us on a tour of the building. She really made our lunch special. We can't wait to return! read more

Situated in an old former store building; it has a unique character. We were seated upstairs which had a handful of tables. Once all tables were filled it was very loud.Our party of 4 ordered 4 different dishes from a limited menu. Overall impressions were the portions did not match the price. We stopped at an irving convenience store on the way home to get snacks as we were still pretty hungry. This is not fine dining and the food choices on the menu reflect that. This is one of those places that you feel really sad that you may never get back to again. We happened on it for lunch while on a long road trip up to Cape Breton Highlands NP. BACKGROUND On my recent business trip to Toronto, I had the chance to explore Canada a bit and wound up finding Bistro Le Chat Bleu. Although it was right in the middle of winter, it was a bright sunny afternoon when I got there and found a window seat right in the warm sun. BISTRO LE CHAT BLEU Bistro Le Chat Bleu is in a historic repurposed general store in the heart of picturesque Baie Verte, New Brunswick, Canada. The restaurant is known for growing their own food or purchasing from local farmers in order to offer clean, big flavored food. Here you will find a small community feeling in their cozy dining room. SERVICE EXPERIENCE Once seated, we were immediately offered a wine list and a menu. Our Chardonnay was brought out tout suite whilst we had the chance to peruse the menu. I chose the Arancini Di Roso, crisp risotto balls stuffed with mozzarella and asiago. SCRUMPTIOUS! The service was pleasant and informative, yet non-obtrusive, which I appreciated. CONCLUSION I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at Bistro Le Chat Bleu. We were so pleased to come upon this Gem along the Road side on our way back from PEI. The love and attention to detail that went into creating this place was immediately apparent. A tremendous amount of thought and care went into the restoration of the General Store that is now Bistro Le Chat Bleu. For example, the wooden tables are inset with richly textured tiles created by the owner. That attention to detail is now focused on the food and service, with outstanding results. At my Sunday lunch, the French press coffee was rich, dark and very satisfying. I ordered the Briouat from the Small Plates menu; a Moroccan savory pie of chopped chicken with preserved lemon and cinnamon wrapped in four phyllo triangles and served with a colorful Greek salad of peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion, olives and feta. The Briouat provided a unique, flavorful alternative to traditional lunch or brunch dishes. I loved it, much to the delight of the young server in training who did a fine job making this solo diner feel valued. The Bistro can assure the freshness of their eggs as the hens live in spacious accommodations adjacent to the parking! Baie Verte is a lovely one-street village of handsome wooden homes, surrounded by salt marsh and open water, about 20 minutes from Sackville to the west and the Confederation Bridge to PEI. A perfect day trip would include reservations at Bistro Le Chat Bleu and a walk along the 2km Red-Winged Blackbird trail around Goodwin's Lake, located just down the road from the restaurant. read more

Wonderful little bistro in the tiny community of Baie Verte NB. Very cozy, nice atmosphere and very good food. We had the Prawns Provençal to start. 6 or 7 good sized prawns in a flavourful tomato sauce. For the main course I had the grilled chicken quesadilla with a Greek salad. The shell was crispy and the inside was very tasty. The salad was good as well. Will definitely come back. read more

An excellent choice! Both the Moroccan chicken pies and the Salmon bowl were healthy, filling, and creative in all the right ways. The cheesecake was way above the typical brick of overly sweet wet cheese at most restaurants. Light and covered in bourbon glazed berries - wow!
