    Grilled Salmon

3.75 stars, rounded up to 4. We ordered the grilled salmon and short rib tacos. The salmon was quite good, but the tacos were a little underseasoned IMO. The plate included some pico de gallo, but the tacos really needed a sauce of some sort. I've never once sent wine back in my entire life, but the Malbec wine was undrinkable. Thankfully they allowed me to switch it out for a beer. The outdoor terrace is charming and the inside dining room is a trip back to Mr. Belvedere. The service was propmt.

Le Chateau is conveniently located inside the Ayres Hotel. We were in town for the OC Winterfest at the end of last year. The ambience is very nice. Outside is a water fountain. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays and they have this amazing bookshelf-like decor. (Refer to photos.) For dinner I had the fish and garlic fries which were kinda tasty. Soup and Caesar salad preceding that were okay. My husband likes getting pot roast and he thought it was good. It was the eve of my birthday on NYE and I got a slice of cheesecake which was delicious. The service was polite yet a tad distracted and it was not busy in the early evening. Just 3 stars, A-OK!

Ate here for dinner. Disappointed that the turkey panini used deli meat and cost $19. Chicken taquitos from happy hour looked like it was from the freezer aisle grocery store. The happy hour margarita was the only item that was satisfactory. Otherwise, service was ok, ambiance was nice but did have a smell of an older folks' home. We will not be returning.

The food was good. I got the burger and my family got the poke nachos and a salad. The burger was good, not excellent but still yummy. Would get again. The best part was the seating area and the umbrellas. A vibe.

We went here for brunch and it was not busy at all, so we actually did like the peace and quiet since we sat outside. The outside itself is very nice and clean and the fountain makes it feel very calm. The server was very nice and attentive. I was disappointed with the food. I was not expecting top tier food but it was very underwhelming. I got the Pot Roast Scramble and the pot roast was soft, but again very underwhelming in flavor. Not sure if I would come back again.

Wowowowowowow. What a time we had. The place is in the oddest location, in the back end of a hotel, but man does it pack a punch! Walking thru the courtyard felt transported to somewhere happy, the charm on the inside was just awesome, boats, France, pub, elegant? Let's get straight to it. The prices are SO GREAT my goodness, we took advantage of the happy Hour and walked out with full Bellies and a $65 bill! The service was awesome, our server Miguel was so great and hilarious we had a blast with him. The food was just perfect. Fried shrimp were HUGE, fried cauliflower was crunchy and spicy, truffle fries were alright, French onion soup AMAZING! I can't wait to get back and try the brunch, $5 mimosas?!?! Come on! This is a GEM!

Awesome service and food. Slow night but Miguel and company made us feel at home. We had a couple of Manhattans, wedge salad and bistro burger. Awesome and thank you team

Food was, maybe not all-time great, but good. When we went; it was a result of my looking Specifically for a kind of mellow setting, as that most fit my wife's desire that evening. The courtyard area, as other reviewers have said, wasn't particularly elaborate, but fit the bill Wonderfully! Wasn't any crowd when we were there, consequently service was good. Can't say if it'd be different if really busy. You just park wherever you can around the perimeter of the hotel. I began to panic, but, upon checking with the lobby, an officer who was there said no worries, won't get charged for parking when dining at their restaurant. Overall pleasant experience

Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Nice place to eat inside our outside. Outside in the day is lovely. Food was quick and good. Definitely recommend.

My friend and I stayed at the Ayres Hotel and treated ourselves to happy hour upon arrival. The garden courtyard was nice, and the weather was perfect for enjoying cocktails and apps. Our server greeted us quickly and was very personable. He shared some of his recommendations and told us where and what to see while we were in the area. We ordered the caprese, the street tacos, smoked salmon tartine, veggie spring rolls, and buffalo cauliflower. They were all pretty good. The smoked salmon tartine was the best! The fish melted in our mouths and had a great flavor. If you are staying at the hotel, you should try the happy hour. Good price and the courtyard was adorable.

The service was great. Everyone was very friendly and always checking in on me to make sure everything was good. However, I did order my burger medium without red onions and it came with red onions(no big deal, I can pick off) and definitely not cooked medium. Calamari wasn't bad but I definitely wouldn't recommend getting a burger here.

This is not your average hotel restaurant. Located in the Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa. I came here for dinner and not only did I enjoy my meal I also truly enjoyed the peacefulness as well. I sat outside next to the waterfall and enjoyed listening to the music playing throughout the restaurant The Pot Roast was so freaking good. Nice and juicy and flavorful-- all the things, it came with mashed potatoes which were so creamy and paired really well with the roast. The vegetables were, well let's just say they weren't the highlight of the dish The Clam chowder was CLAM chowder! I absolutely loved it and they did not skimp on the clams ok! Every single bite was chunks of clams which I was impressed with The service here was also really great

Do you take reservation for Saturday lunch? I want to reserve a table a couple can sit next to each other and enjoy food. Is it possible? Do you have plenty of parking spot?…

It's a beach, not a restaurant. But there are many spots to grab food along the beach pathway.

Is there a corkage fee and what is the amount per bottle?

Le Chateau's corkage fee is $15.00 per 750ml bottle with a max of 2 bottles per table.

We knew for sure we would be getting the Dutch baby to share, but it was the separate entrees we couldn't decide on. Our waitress was super patient while we went through the menu. Boysenberry, Bacon, and Brie Grilled Cheese - If you like boysenberry, this dish will not disappoint you. It was extremely generous with boysenberry jam on it. So much that I actually removed some to try with the Dutch baby. This works very well if you can do sweet and savory flavors together as the bacon brings out a bit of saltiness. Vietnamese Pork and Egg Bowl - My cousin ordered this so I only got a small bite. The pork was so soft and tender. I love grilled pork too, so this tasted amazing. Dutch Baby - We tried a bite of it plain. We like things more on the lighter side, so we were okay with how little sweetness it had. Then we squeezed lemon over it and added powdered sugar like our server recommended and man the lemon was the magic. It's like biting into two completely different things. As plain, it's like a soft and super thing pancake. With the lemon? It really brought out a strong citrus flavor complemented by something fluffy and light.

It's clearly marinated with care and grilled to juicy perfection. Every bite was moist, aromatic, and beautifully seasoned all the way through. The beef kabob was just as impressive--rich, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth tender with that perfect char from the grill. You could really taste the quality of the meat and the balance of spices without anything being overpowering. The saffron rice was fluffy and aromatic. It also comes with a mixed salad. Not the usual balsamic dressing but a creamy herb infused dressing coating every leaf. Together, these kabobs were a knockout: bold flavors, perfect texture, and cooked exactly right. If you're looking for kabobs that are juicy, flavorful, and truly satisfying, this is the place. I'd come back for these alone. I forgot to mention they are dog friendly on the patio. It was a weekday brunch/lunch hours, so the restaurant wasn't too packed. Food came out relatively fast! Only complaint-- Everyone got their food at the same time except one person. Their Lobster roll took a long time. By the time we had server check, the rest of party was finishing up their food. I gave one of my mahi tacos, so my friend didn't have to sit awkwardly while we all ate. Guests ordered: Calamari appetizer- crispy, but soft to chew. Flavorful and not heavy batter. Wasn't overcooked and everyone enjoyed it with the sauce it came with. Elderflower Guava mimosa-- refreshing and tastes tropical and light. Guava taste is apparent if you like guava. Something diff if you want to change it up in flavor! Sorry didn't take pic of that. Lobster roll-- Actually really fresh and decent amount of lobster meat given. The bun was a brioche type bun, slightly toasted. Overall, good, but not sure it was worth that long of a wait for it. It came out late, so I wasn't about to take pic of it knowing my friend is starving. Haha Ahi Sandwich--- came with some fries and side salad. Tuna was seared perfectly and not overcooked. Well seasoned too. Bun was slightly toasted. Dressing on salad was a light vinaigrette. Salad looked clean and bright in color. Mahi Mahi--- the corn tortillas must be fresh, because it's soft and thick and elevates the whole dish. If you like spicy, this definitely has a nice kick to it with the seasoning and sauce. Loved it! Fish and Chips-- was good. Crispy and fish not overcooked. Fries are fries anywhere. lol Clam Chowder-- not too salty in comparison to other places. Decent amount of clams. Has a creamy texture, not too thick and not too watery. Nothing irks me more when it's full of potatoes. This had the right amount of potatoes and clams. Lemon Blueberry Pancakes-- Nailed it! Felt like eating dessert! If you love blueberries, this one is for you. Didn't taste a lot of lemon flavors, but it's probably mixed in there somewhere with the syrup and probably lemon zest. Chicken and Waffles--- Chicken was seasoned well and has a nice crunch to it. Not enough chicken in my opinion. Chicken piece looked small in comparison to two thick slabs of waffles. It was good, but wouldn't get it again. If you've had chicken and waffles in Long Beach, IYKYK. Wonderful view of Marina as usual. Our server was super nice and efficient. She had a calm and friendly demeanor about her. She saw we were trying to take pics and offered to take a a few of our table. How thoughtful. It's the small things that matter the most. Details, details! Overall, we had a pleasant time. Thank you!

And it came from a breakfast joint, which is super rare in and of itself. Having lived in Southern California for many many years, I thought I had seen and experienced just about everything in the way of good places to eat. As I was driving around looking for some breakfast, I stumbled across oeb breakfast. And I am so glad I did. For starters, when you walk through the door, the place is bright and Cherry and has just the right amount of whimsy. It's neatly laid out and everything is in full view. It only took a moment my server to come get me at the front and direct me to a table. Let's talk about the service. Having been in the food service industry, I know what it takes to have a great dining experience. Caesar, who was my waiter, took care of me in a level that I have not seen in a very long time. Personable, gracious, accommodating, and helpful are just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience being served by him. I asked for coffee and water and within moments it arrived on my table. Side note, the coffee is off the chain! It is a brand called Umbria and it is amazing. After scanning the menu, I opted for the beef bulldogi Benedict with the beef Tallow fries. I asked for the fries extra crispy, and ask for my milk to be served with breakfast. If you've read any of my Yelp reviews on breakfast places, you know that that is one of my litmus tests for the accuracy of the order. If I have to ask for my milk after the meal's been delivered, they're not doing their job. Not that I'm picky, for me. It is just a way to determine how good of a listener the server actually is. It didn't take long at all for the food to be delivered. The presentation was absolutely amazing, as we eat with our eyes. First, I have to say that the way the food was plated was definitely a work of art. Once the food was dropped off half of me was going. I wonder if they will remember... And before I could finish my thought Caesar showed back up with the milk. Home run! The food itself was absolutely wonderful, I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a breakfast as much as this one. All the flavors were there, it was perfectly balanced, and was just a pleasant dining experience overall. Bragging on Caesar again, as I was sitting there, the restaurant started to get very busy, he handled himself with such Grace and poise and didn't let the mounting tension frazzle him. Again, I wish this place was in my hometown so I could come here more often, but you can bet that I will be back here multiple times. Bottom line? There aren't many places that I would tell friends they definitely absolutely had to go to. But oeb breakfast is now on the top of the list for me to recommend to my friends.
