It took this horrific restaurant experience to persuade me to open up a Yelp account and, for the first time, share. I was persuaded to visit this "restaurant" by the Yelp reviews. I'm currently living in Malaga, Spain a port city known for its seafood. I've also lived in other port cities in Qingdao, China and Old San Juan in Puerto Rico. So I know and appreciate good seafood. Their seafood is the akin to KFC or McDonalds. Which, coincidentally, is where the owner of the restaurant suggested we go to after complaining of not having food, more water or an opportunity to order a bottle of wine after over an hour. They didn't even have many people in the place! This pre-Madona thinks he's running NOBU in NYC (my hometown), but I can wholeheartedly say he's got nothing to brag about. The food is terrible, not even mediocre. With an attitude like this, first, your food has to be amazing. If you're in Paris, NYC, or Tokyo and are willing to subject yourself to abuse for, known/famous, ritzy restaurants then I won't judge you. But to be subjected to terrible service and ridiculous waiting times for terrible (not fresh) seafood, then you're a masochist. In my opinion they might as well be serving Zika.

Tucked away inside and upstairs is their fine dining area. I had the "Salzburg" menu for lunch, since I was stuck in traffic and arrived after the cutoff time for the larger "Carpe Diem" menu. The menu says it is for 2 people, but they will make it for 1 person as well. At the time, I was a little bummed because I wanted more food, but I am glad it turned out that way because I was stuffed. Started out with two amuse bouche items, one with duck, and one with scallops with a mango maracuna (passion fruit/lilikoi) sauce. The scallops paired VERY nicely with the sauce, as I love both mangoes and passion fruit. Next, was the goose liver with kumquat and Brazil nuts. The goose liver was cold/frozen and shaped into small ice cream like scoops and came out with some shave ice type flavors. It made it really easy to eat, but also had to eat it sort of quickly so the shave ice didn't just melt. The candied kumquat skin added a nice tartness to the goose liver. Third, was the black cod, coconut miso, tamarillo, and green asparagus. This was my favorite dish of the set. I had never heard of tamarillo before, but it tasted like papaya. After I looked it up, it is supposed to taste like a mix of passion fruit and tomatoes. Either way, the coconut miso had just enough flavor to complement the fish, but not overpower it. The final dish (before dessert) was veal, cream of spinach, mushrooms and blueberry. I was unsure of what to expect before it arrived, but worked nicely with the tender veal. For dessert, was chocolate, banana, and passion fruit. On the hot day that I dined here, it was perfect to cool off before I headed back out on the road. To top it off, they gave me two chocolate balls to take to go! I am glad that I ended arriving a bit late because I was stuffed. Next time I go to Salzburg, I will make sure to have the "Carpe Diem" menu for dinner and arrive hungry!

In fact, the second night in Salzburg we gave up trying to find a restaurant we could park at and ate here again! There is no outdoor seating, and on A/C -- so cooler weather would be better. The menu is quite extensive, with pizza and a lot of other Italian dishes. We tried the pizza one night, but then tried the lasagna, and other pasta dishes. The tomato and mozzerella salad was awesome! The service was great and the owners were very nice. English was a little limited, but enough to get by -- and there were English language menus. Credit cards, including American Express, also accepted. Also -- check the hours! Closed for lunch. A great choice that we would recommend for others.

I had the tagliatelli Della casa and it might rival food I had in Italy. My sister had the chicken Tikka which was also excellent. This was a great find and recommend it to anyone looking for good Italian (and Pakistani if you so choose).
