I chose a delectable chorizo and scrambled egg concoction to start, served in a tiny cast iron pot with a perfectly poached egg in the center and chives scattered on top. This came with a toasted baguette for dipping, and the best bite was by far the last: the center yolk was still runny and it mingled beautifully with the slightly spicy chorizo and crusty bread. The salad option, fresh mixed greens with blue cheese, serrano ham, sundried tomatoes, and walnuts, was also a hit (and copious, too!). I didn't try the third option, a mousse-like fish terrine, but my friend seemed to like it. My main dish, a sea bream filet served with puréed sweet potatoes and a light and creamy curry sauce, lacked a little flavor after the chorizo, but it was well-cooked and tasty. My partner had the pork filet, which came with Noirmoutier potatoes, lardons, and mushrooms in a creamy cider sauce. I regret not ordering that! The umami sauce paired perfectly with the mushroom texture, and I was frowned at for sneaking so many bites. We sat outside on the terrace, which was quaint but slightly precarious (the tables were small and sidewalk slanted). The interior looked cozy, though less attractive for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Our jovial waiter was attentive, and sold us on dessert even though we didn't have the room: a chocolatey mousse/moelleux and a slice of tarte au citron without meringue. A must-try if you're on the island!
