I love this place because it is run by a family who is there every day and they really care about the food and drink they serve. They also have free pinchitos (small snacks) at most hours of the day. On cold days, they will offer you complimentary garlic soup or garbanzo beans. Like most bars in Cantabria, the bartenders aren't overly friendly, but that doesn't mean they won't have a conversation with you. I love talking to them about different vermouths and wines and places to visit around Cantabria. They don't have a traditional menu or serve entrees, so don't expect more than a drink and a snack when you go. But, they make one of the best tortillas in Spain. Check 'em out from 1 to 2 PM when all the locals show up for a real slice of Cantabrian life!

We had excellent service and the staff was exceedingly friendly and was very tolerant of our nearly nonexistent French. I have had paella in probably a hundred different places, and this was the best I have had. The rice was very full flavored and creamy with the perfect balance of spiced. The squid was the most tender and flavorful. The shrimp were seasoned very well and the balance from the sausage was perfect and not so much as to overpower the seafood and chicken.
