I had warm goat cheese toasts on a salad and "saucisson chaud" with a beaujolaise sauce. We also split a bottle of Beaujolais wine - dejeundinner (dejeuner + diner franglais) came to 18euros each. La Traboulerie serves standard Lyonnaise fare, which is traditionally tres heavy and hearty. Definitely skip the funicular and walk up to St. Just!

With a little direction from our smartphone apps, we were very happy to find Au Temps Perdu (at the top of many stairs up from the river), and glad that they could accommodate our group on a Friday night. We are not native French speakers, and this is not a typical tourist restaurant. It seemed that the other patrons were locals, which, as tourists, we enjoyed. We figured out the menu with the translation help of the waiter and also with some language help and recommendations from a group of friendly, welcoming locals at a neighboring table. We really enjoyed the meal and experience. The cost was very reasonable for the delicious, hearty meal. They also did a good job providing a delicious off-menu meal for our vegetarian friends. There is a cozy dinning area on the second floor, up a narrow, creaky staircase. It had the plenty of light from the afternoon sun. My limited French and my waitstaff's English was enough to get through the menu. I had the two course special which offered several choices of entrees and I chose the fish. The second part was a small cake desert with a pistachio sauce. A demitasse of espresso and two glasses of their red completed the meal. The special also has a three choice option adding a first course salad. My meal was very good and I was happy with the well prepared fish and sides. It was a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and the ambience inspired me to slow down and savor the food and the moment. It's exactly what I wanted to end my Lyon visit.

I tried to Yelp this place but it wasn't on here. We were so pleased with this place!!! The restaurant is so clean and nicely decorated! Our server, who I believe may be part-owner, was so pleasant and translated the whole menu to us in English. I don't remember in French what I ordered but my first course was a beautiful dish consisting of egg, both chanterelle and mort mushrooms and croutons. I can't tell you what they added in it for flavor but every bite was heaven in my mouth! My husband ordered the pumpkin soup with escargot which was just as delicious! For the second course, I ordered the fish wrapped in jambon( bacon) with mashed whited beans topped with cauliflower. Wow! It was good! My husband ordered the braised beef cheek topped with some kind of squash. The beef was tender and the flavor was perfect! The chef here really knows what they're doing! Since we were both pretty full, we decided to share a poached pear for dessert. It was covered in a decadent chocolate sauce with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
