It is located in the shadow of the Cathedral where Napoleon himself was baptized. Ya, you won't get that experience anywhere else! Walk up about a block and visit the home where the prominent French statesman was born. It will connect you to the French Revolution in a way that simply cannot be duplicated! But, back to the café. It's a charming and (obvi) historic location with a breathtaking view, and everything a hungry traveler could want in a quick stop for a bite to eat and a beer or glass of wine. As it is located right on the water downtown, it's in a pretty touristy area of the city. The view is beautiful, you can see all the sailboats in the harbor from your table. The food wasn't bad - I ordered the fish stew, which came as a fish broth with croutons, cheese and spice on the side so that you could customize it to your liking. The service was incredibly slow. I didn't want dessert but I wanted a coffee after I had finished with my lunch, and had to ask the waiter multiple times. To his credit, he admitted he had forgotten about me multiple times and gave it to me for free. But even so that meant there was a very long wait for it, even though there were not many people there at the time.

They also have a fair selection of Corsican goods if you find yourself without souvenirs at the end of your vacation. Also a fair selection of electronics needs, including plug converters and the like. All in all very convenient if you're in Calvi for a bit and find yourself missing some basic that a corner market can't quite cover. We came in for picnic supplies after getting some fancier selections at Annie Traiteur in town. Has some automated check out counters as well in case your French is feeling shaky.
