The food we had at this restaurant, in Paris, was some of the most flavorful and satisfying Mexican food we have ever had...just fantastic. One dish, a beef enchilada platter, was served on a hot fajita plate, which cause some of the various ingredients to acquire a slight carmelized flavor to the outstanding sauce - very yummy. And the serving of chili con carne on the side was delicious, too. The other dish, a red sauce stew of chicken, pork, vegetables and pineapple chunks, was reportedly a recipe from Oaxaca, served with a side or Spanish rice and fresh, home made tortillas. It, too, was just delicious and the fruit sweetening of the pineapple was a delightful flavor enhancement from dishes we are accustomed to. Finally, while wine was available on the menu, I preferred beer. Ordering a Modelo Negro is was told that it wasn't available; would I accept a Ocho Reales, a brand unfamiliar to me...turns out is was a artisanal variety from Monterrey and was just as delicious as the other foods. I spent 300 for me and a friend. We asked for juice and two steak(49 for each) and two starter ( caviar is about 120 and fish is about 20). I think it's not hard to find a better place than this one. So I was disappointed. After I checked out, the front desk girl ask me how was everything. I said it's ok,but I expect for better one like she said before I came. Two words: Food Poisoning…read more My entire table was affected. We think it was the lamb dish the chef made for dinner. Technique was amazing for every plate. The food was plated beautifully like a piece of art. As expected of a Michelin Star restaurant, they met all the expectation and I was impressed. We had the 9 course meal, and starting from the welcome plate to the surprise dessert at the end, I was very happy and impressed. Then... Thing went south immediatrly. I personally had diarrhea in the evening, and then projectile vomiting the next day. I had to get on the train to London, and I missed it because I was dying in bed. We had to get a new set of tickets to London because we couldn't make it in time in the morning. My body was aching and in cold sweats. In the train, I was vomiting every 20 minutes. I couldn't even keep water or tea down. Sad to say, it was the worst train ride of my life. I got to the hotel in London, and after few more sessions in the bathroom, I passed out. I woke up later because I had dinner reservation at the Savoy, and I missed that as well. I was supposed to go to the Malty Market and the Borough too, but I missed that because I got sick from the restaurant. Overall, this experience caused by their lack of kitchen standard costed me money, loss of opportunities, and physical pain. This is just sad... I expected so much and things were going well during dinner.
