We ordered the Plat du jour for lunch, which came with an entree, the main course, desert and a glass of wine - for 9 euros! The salad was topped with the most amazing warm egg sauce. I've never had anything like it. The main course was braised beef and potatoes with a rich wine sauce. The food is simple, but outstanding, with fresh local ingredients. The service was friendly even though our French is minimal. We sat outside, in the shade, watching the canal go by. I would highly recommend La Restanque for the excellent food and value.

The restaurant is very nicely located, the service was fast and friendly and we did not wait too long at all even though the house was quite full. The food was delicious with a very nice local white wine recommended by the waiter. Rooms are small but offer all you need. Modern and kept perfectly clean. Staff provided free secured parking for our e-bikes. The hotel is based in a nice side road with pedestrian area of Saint Gilles. If you are lucky you can find free parking in front of the hotel, otherwise more free parking is a 2 min walk away. Nice newly prepared bike routes lead out of town along the petit Rhone.
