I hate to leave a bad review, but it was the weirdest interaction.. or lack there of, I guess?? The website and the hours on the door say it closes at 10pm. I got there around 8:45pm. As I was walking to the door, I see a man cleaning the tables. He walks toward the door as I'm walking up to it. We're literally standing face to face with the door in between us. I smile, he is stone faced. I go to open the door as he walks away. The door is locked. I try a few more times, thinking maybe it's me. I look around at the hours again, but next to it is a "we're open" sign. I try maybe 3-4 times more before I give up. I walk to the window and he's sitting at a table toward the back, looking at me. We just look at each other, then he looks at his computer. I turn toward my car, then turn back around and he's still looking at me! I sat in my car, confused. He never looked back up from his computer, so I left. Highly disappointed. read more

This was my second time coming to this place. The staff is so inviting and friendly and are willing to answer any and every question you have. They made a fresh pot of coffee and even went the extra mile to go get ice as we came in later in the evening and they had run out. I did tell them they didn't need to, but he insisted which I thought was outstanding. This quaint little café is so charming inside. It allows people to gather eat a sweet treat and have general conversation conversations where you can actually hear one another. They do have outside seating too. The chocolate cake was soft and as a non-cake lover I found this very delicious. Definitely worthy of sharing. I ordered a quiche to go. I had mentioned they didn't have the spinach feta pastry that I had before. The gentleman stated we have some in the back, I'm happy to get you one. So I ordered that too. And although this was only our second time coming, the fact that they'll make a fresh pot of coffee in my opinion is key to a great café. I will keep this in my rotation of places to go. read more

I visited Le Macaron after stumbling across the store after having lunch with my colleagues. We were all greeted warmly when we entered and took some time to browse the options. I decided to order the cookies and cream gelato and chocolate turtles. The desserts were delicious and the store had a welcoming charm to it. We decided to sit at the outside tables to enjoy our desserts. Very helpful team! Stopped by on a brisk Saturday and purchased a broad selection: Dark Chocolate Profiterole Four macarons: Basil Chocolate, Colombian Coffee, Praline and Coconut. The coffee macaron was a personal fave! The choux pastry of the profiterole had a lovely crust, and subtle mint notes in the filling, and the chocolate cake was delectable. We LOVE Le Macaron! We live close enough to walk and waited so patiently through Covid for this place to open. Their macarons are delicious. On our most recent visit, we tried their gelato and also loved that! We tried the Belgian chocolate, vanilla, and coconut chocolate chip. The man who owns it is extremely kind and always so accommodating as I have all 3 of my kids usually when I go in. The other workers have also always been extremely kind and patient as my kids take forever to decide what to get. It's also very cute inside, SO MUCH PINK, which my 4-year-old princess loves. They also offer lavazza coffee, so really good espresso drinks, beignets (we like the hazelnut ones) quiches, croissants, chocolates, and lots of other things! They have seating inside, outside the front and some downstairs in an outdoor courtyard as well. I will say, prices are high. It was over $16 for 3 gelatos yesterday, so not a cheap snack but definitely fun and cute for a special treat! read more

Fun little pastry shop! I was out and about STL and decided to give this shop a try in honor of National Macaron Day. They had a great selection of macarons - my favorite were the red velvet, vanilla, and pistachio! They have a fun little selection of things from croissants to candies to macarons to scoops of ice cream. If you have a sweet tooth and are craving something, stop in! I'd become a regular, but my wallet won't forgive me and neither will my waistline! The macrons are always fresh and full of flavor. I am pretty stubborn when it comes to trying new things/flavors but le macaron uses real whole ingredients that they actually taste like the real fruit or flavor and you'd think I'd be used to it by now having been here so much but they blow my mind every time. I also inquired about catering as I would like to use them in the future. The manager was very informative and let me take some pictures for reference. I have since moved 30+ minutes away from this place but will always pop in when i'm in the area. It's a little shop, very bright, on the weekends it can get pretty packed at night where everyone's on top of each other but i love that they are open late. Great place to stop for a quick sweet or a sit down snack! The selection is vast. However, items are depleted throughout the day based on availability. So I'd recommend coming in earlier in the day. There are so many macarons to choose from -- my favorites are the lemon, violet cassis, chocolate, and Madagascar vanilla!! They also have a variety of great croissants! We came on a Sunday so things may have been made on Friday or Saturday. I think my boyfriend was ready to sell his soul to the bakery after eating here. The tiramisu was PHENOMENAL. Delicate and you can taste each layer individually. A nice creamy center, you can tell it's never been frozen and it's not covered in toppings that mask the actual taste of the desert itself. SO many amazing flavor options we were debating how much money we were actually willing to spend They are so soft that even the slightest pressure and your hand goes through the casing. I just started eating macaroons because I've never had fresh ones so I always hated them before. But now that I've tried fresh ones, I don't know how to even begin describing the consistency. However, I do know these were some of my absolute favorite macaroons since trying so many new places and the flavors weren't overpowering! My next favorite are from a little Greek couple that owns a bakery so same concept but different ethnic backgrounds in the creation! The service was also PHENOMENAL. The sweetest girl behind the counter, very knowledgeable on her products and just made me feel like I was having a little tea party date. Her personality / attitude just made it feel so bubbly and made me feel like a kid in a candy store again! I had the most lovely time here yesterday, and I'm kicking myself for not coming in sooner! I had lunch at DD Mau and was planning on going somewhere close to work after. I saw coffee and sweets (say less) so I quickly decided this was going to be the spot. It is noticeable with it's lovely pink awning and tables outside. I walked in and was taken aback but the amount of options of macarons! From eclairs, pastries, croissants, and of course macrons- you have a massive selection to chose from. I ordered 3 macarons- birthday cake, tiramisu, and peanut butter and jelly. I also ordered a sugar free vanilla latte. The latte was European style (my fav) and was served in Lavazza mug. The macrons were fabulous! I'm a huge birthday cake anything kinda gal, so that was my favorite. The coffee was so so good and high quality. I chatted with the owner a bit and his pastry chef is from France- so this is the real deal y'all. I worked for an hour or two and it was a nice, non distracting atmosphere. The owner took good care of me, offering more coffee and water. It was so clean, and individual hand sanitizers on each table. Ooh, La La. These possibly may be my new favorite macarons. I recently moved from STL city to the IL side and this past week-end had a few friends over for dinner. When they arrived, they gifted me a box of macarons. So, honestly I must say I have not been to Le Macaron myself, but I can testify that these six macrons rocked my world. When I finally ate the last one, my heart was broken. However, I knew I was going to STL this week for a Yelp event and could swing by Le Macaron and stock up on some more. Their macarons were just the perfect amount of sweetness and each one had its own distinct flavor. I could easily name each one, without being told what flavor they were. I can't wait to see their actual space and I'm thrilled that they are in an area that I frequent often. I highly recommend you check this place out. So, I have always been a sucker for the small details. When we walked into a French cafe to find the counter person in a beret, I immediately fell in love. There was so much to choose from. My favorite Saturday morning pastry shop (Pint Size Bakery) was on vacay, so on the recommendations of Yelp reviews, I came here. Disappointed. I got a spinach and cheese croissant and a lemon tart. Nothing else appealed. The man who was served immediately before me was asked if he'd like his spinach and cheese croissant warmed up. I was NOT. Warming it only marginally helped and it wasn't really a croissant anyway and this place has French in their name. The lemon tart, on the other hand, had a nice citrus bite to it. The foundations of these macarons are great! Puffy crowns, semi chewy interior, and the right amount of sugar for an American palate to not only taste but feel the sugar crystals. After dinner in downtown Webster Groves, we stopped by Le Macaron for some delectable desserts. I've been excited about coming here since they announced the opening so I decided to try 6 different types of macarons and a tiny serving of gelato. So here's what I've ordered: coconut, raspberry jam, Belgian chocolate, Colombian coffee, rose, and mango jam. Verdict: yes, flavors are unquestionable, however, macarons should have a slight crunch at first bite, a little chewy and soft but not mushy as an overall texture and I, unfortunately, did not get that with any of the 6 macarons I purchased. They were a bit too crunchy for my taste, barely any chewiness, and no hint of softness. There are definitely some healthy rise out of the macarons with good feet and delicious fillings but they could be neater, for sure. I would have to say, I've had much better macarons in my lifetime. I feel like these would be comparable to a box I bought at Costco which might be okay but definitely would not pass for a freshly baked French pastry. In addition to the macarons, I also had a mango sorbet gelato. They were okay. Nothing mind-blowing, just okay. For mango sorbets, I would give it a 3 out of 5 perhaps. For a total of $21 and some change, I think I could have gotten way better dessert but I'm glad I tried this place out. Would I return? Perhaps. I think I'd rather go to NRB though for some macarons and maybe stop by here to try different gelato flavors. read more

We went to Le Macaron for Valentine's Day. My wife loves all things French and this place is it. She had a quiche Lorraine and I had a ham & cheese croissant, both of which we delicious. It was freezing outside, so we each had hot chocolate. We shared 4 macaroons: Belgian chocolate, champagne, chocolate mint and strawberry/key lime. They must have dozens of flavors, so it took us a while to choose. As with all French restaurants, the prices are somewhat high, but they make food into works of art! The French music playing over the air set the romantic atmosphere. They also have live French music occasionally downstairs in a cabaret/night club atmosphere.
