Starters and desserts were excellent BUT stay awY from the ribeye steak! Three of us had ribeye and none of the steaks was edible--full of gristle and impossibly tough. It seems reservations are a must for restaurants in Bayeux. While many restaurants were unavailable this evening, we were able to secure a reservation at Le Marsala. The food is good. The servers are friendly and very efficient. The restaurant is fairly small with limited seating. They seem to have a pretty good pizza take out business. We ordered samosas, sweetbread and kidney cassoulet, carbonara and cod with pesto Spaghetti. The house red and white wines were good but we preferred the red. We also shared an apple crepe that was tasty. The weakest part of the meal was the bread. With so many wonderful bakeries in the area it definitely could have been better. read more

This is one of a few restaurants that was still open on a week night in Bayeux. It seems like most stores & businesses closes early in Bayeux, so we decided to dine here since we didn't have many options to eat at on a Wednesday night. This restaurant is walking distance from the Hôtel Le Bayeux, and is really close to the Bayeux Cathedral. They're a nice small intimate restaurant to dine at, as their service was very friendly. They do offer free tap water, but you have to request it, or they'll provide you with bottled water that you'll have to pay for. They have a nice variety of food options, including a prix fixe menu that I ordered from. Overall, the price is fair for the quantity & quality. The food portions are on the smaller side and the quality was alright, although their dessert was really good. I really enjoyed their service, as they also allowed you to pay your bill with multiple credit cards. I wouldn't mind coming back here the next time I'm back in Bayeux. The food was just okay, but I did like the ambiance of the restaurant. I would give them a 3.5-star rating. read more

We ate here on a Sunday evening. A lot of the restaurants in Bayeux were closed that day or were closing before dinner (?). We were quite happy to find this one open. We checked the menu and asked for a table. They provided tap water to the table. We ordered a pizza (split between 2) and another dish (pasta, I think). No one had any real complaints with their dish. Frankly, I was jet-lagged and happy to have made it to Bayeux at all, so this tasted great at the time. It wasn't the best pizza I've had, but it was serviceable. You pay at the register; the server doesn't pick up your bill (this cost us 5 minutes to figure out). You could probably do worse in downtown Bayeux, especially on a Sunday. read more

We only had pizzas and a bottle of dry cider for an early dinner, and it was all tasty. Service was accommodating even though they were very busy and had a line of people waiting for table at all times while we were there. We were a bit hard pressed to find somewhere still open for dinner at 7 pm, but thankfully we found Le Marsala. About 15 minutes after we arrived, it seemed every other tourist discovered it too. LOL. My appetite tends to be very small when I travel, but when we ate here, I was ravenous. I had a 1/2 litre of a beautiful rosé which was dry, fruity, and mineral. Quite lovely! I had a spinach ravioli with ratatouille and a side salad for dinner. The vegetables and pasta were so fresh. I wish I had ordered more. My dad had a fettucine dish which he devoured. I will return to Bayeux one day and I will eat here again. read more

Good Stuff, we ate there 3-4 times during out Visit to Normandy. Shrimp in the cream sauce and the escargot were awesome. The house white wine was just fine. I *think* this is the place we had dinner at in July (we were wandering and picked it from several restaurants on this cute little street). But (as I write this a month after this vacation) the Yelp category of pizza confused me because I didn't even notice pizza on the menu. Friendly service, casual atmosphere, and good food overall at reasonable prices. Stopped at Bayeux for a few days to visit Normandy and Mont St michele. Happened across this restaurant. Not bad. I had the beef bourgignon, husband had the sole, and son had rib steak. Sole was ok but with really good sauce. Steak could have been more tender. Son says it was tough yet very very tasty. Service friendly! read more

Had to stop here for dinner when we smelled the aromas emanating from the kitchen. The pizza smelled heavenly! We tried soups, salads, lamb chops, pizza, pasta bolognese, and desserts, and everything was delicious. The banana Nutella calzone & profiteroles were incredible! The staff (family owners) apologized for the 5-minute wait for a table, and scurried about quickly to take care of their customers. Great find! read more

Had dinner here in this quaint little town. Was told to try some of the local food from a traveler in Paris. Cute little restaurant had a great ambience arrived just before 7. We were lucky enough to receive a window seat. We tried the Normandie special I had the check and my fiancé had the veal. Both were exceptional dishes Normande style and quicker service compared to a traditional French meal. You're not gonna feel bogged down with food once you leave. The Normandie special is usually a cream sauce with mushrooms (meat) and french fries on the side. I'd also recommend the cider. It's very popular in this area. Last week my husband and I celebrated our twenty fifth anniversary in France with another couple. One evening we stopped into Le Marsala in Bayeux for dinner and found a little gem. The service was fantastic, the dinner was just right. We were a little clumsy in our attempt to order (since we speak VERY limited French) but our server was very accommodating. One member of our party was quite smitten with the glass his beer was served in and the owner even let him bring one home with him...a souvenir that will remind us for years to come of the pleasant evening had by all. We chose Le Marsala after a day visiting the D-Day beach sites. Other restaurants were not yet open and our family, especially the children, were hungry and tired. The pizzas were OK, not great. Crust somewhat soft, mild tomato sauce, average cheese. We tried margherita and jambon/olive pizzas. One of us had a vegetable omelet, which arrived "blackened" and tasted a little charred. Both of our onion soups were tasteless. Mild broth with some onions, little seasoning. A piece of whitebread in place of the typical crouton, and a small quantity of mild cheese melted on the white bread. First time I've seen white bread used in French-style onion soup. A salad with shrimp and boiled eggs was OK, but the tasteless white bread reappeared. The bread was atop the salad, sprinkled with balsamic vinegar. Service was friendly and prompt. Very nice staff. Bottom line: stick to the pizza if you're in the area and looking for a quick stop. read more

Loved the atmosphere in this little french street restaurant. I had cider duck that was very good. Also dessert was delicious. Service was very good. We don't speak French so our waitresses was very helpful in trying to communicate. Price about 23€ includes starter main entrée and dessert. Didn't like somethings that we ordered. However overall I would eat here again maybe try a salad, that looked very good. read more
