We arrived in the area last minute on a holiday weekend in August in order to visit friends. We were told by friends we were lucky to get a room in the high season. The room was €83 for the night, with an average bread/yogurt/croissant €9 breakfast, which is practically mandatory due to the quasi-remote location.
We had Room 11, next to the laundry/storage area. It had a double bed plus a twin bed (roomy for a couple). As soon as we were let into the room, we were hit with a strong odor - something musty and moldy. We were going to ask to change the room, but we knew the hotel was booked, and the concierge was out when we went downstairs that evening.
The next morning I told him about the smell. I had to search for the word moldy in French - "moisi" - and he acted fairly shocked, asking if it smelled like new paint (it did not). He then thanked me for teaching him the word in English, but did not really apologize for the room/experience.
Post-visit I saw on Trip Advisor that another guest complained of an odor in Room 11.
The area is lovely and worth visiting, but I would not necessarily recommend this hotel.
