Pretty cool and educational museum for anyone to visit while in Lausanne. We were only here for about an hour and explored the museum very fast since we got here in the late afternoon. I think it's free admission when you show your Swiss pass. There were a lot of historic Olympic memorabilia on display and video clips of the past Olympic games. I love the souvenir shop and they sold items such as magnets, postcards, clothing, and etc. I would visit here again one day and take my time to explore the museum.

View of Lake Geneva from the front of the museum.

Set alongside Lake Geneva, the location is the first of many nice elements of the Olympic Museum. Entry is 18 francs and then you begin exploring the 3 levels of the museum. I really enjoyed the history, memorabilia, stories and more within the museum. There is something for everyone. It's really interesting to see how things have changed over the years and throughout the world with each respective event. My favorite part of the museum was seeing the different torches used from the first Olympic games until now. As you depart, take a swing through the gift shop. It seems that more recent games were the feature within the shop.

Well worth your time to check out Olympic history, various medals and torches used in various games. Neat, official, well organized.

Such a great museum! Great exhibitions, videos, and it overlooks the lake at its cafe. What's not to love?

Excellent brunch Perfect value for money compared to lot of brunch in the area. To combine with a musee visit. Kid friendly place.

Yelp Review 2026 #177:…read more A park that's easy to get to. There's a tram stop right in front of this park. There's a cafe. There are people playing games like bocce ball. Unfortunately, it was pouring when we were here and it quickly turned to hail. If you've ever experienced getting hit by hail, you know it's not a pleasant experience. That dampened my mood. My sister wanted to see the Reformation Wall and her map kept giving her wrong directions exposing us to hail while I just wanted to stay under the protection of the trees. The map wanted us to get out of the park, walk uphill, enter a gate which is the entrance of the same park! So, stay inside the park and keep walking away from the main entrance and you'll find the Reformation Wall to your left. You can't miss is. It has bas-relief and giant statues of important Reformation leaders such as John Knox, John Calvin, etc. Was it worth getting pelted by hail? Not really. Did I spend money to see it? No. If the sun was out, I'd imagine myself enjoying this park.

**LAST Geneva review**…read more One of the things I like the most about Geneva is that hanging out in parks is an everyday activity, kicking a football around, throwing frisbees, or just lazing around on a blanket with a picnic lunch. Granted, it is probably because there's very little else to do on weekends, but it is this forced sense of leisure that gives Geneva it's distinct romantic European feel. I'm not much of a nature person myself (I don't really like any of the elements, be it wind, sun, grass, or sand), but I do go out of my way to walk through this park on my way to the Old Village from Plainpalais. Parc des Bastions is a great respite from the city surrounding it. You don't just happen on it--the tall gated entrance that faces the Rath Museum provides a magnificent entryway into the wide promenade flanked on both sides by large expanses of grass, tall trees, and beautiful architecture. Just inside the entrance is the over-sized checker and chess boards that decorate the paved ground. You would expect tourists to be posing with the knee-high chess pieces, but instead, it's where the locals, young and old, play pick-up games with friends and strangers. As if it's the most normal thing in the world to be dragging enormous checker/chess pieces across a huge board with your feet. If you walk on a bit further, you'll find on your left a magnificent wall sculpture of the founding fathers of Geneva. Being much of a city girl, I've never really figured out what people do in parks. But despite my own inability to enjoy spending hours sitting around in the grass, I am going to miss watching other people who have mastered the art of un-bothered relaxation.

New exhibitions are regularly organised in order to permit visitors to progressively see museum entire own collection. At the time I visited MUDAC there was an interesting temporary exhibition showing the work of a 40 years old French designer Guillaume Bardet. He drew an utilitarian object of daily life like cups, vases, chairs, lamps, etc. every day over a year period from 21 September 2009 to 21 September 2010. A dozen ceramicist produced his objects in white and different colours. Artist mental state mind changed over this year period from joy to deep sadness and despair! At the end of 2010 he became heavily sick for 6 weeks and almost died! Could this performance means and be artist's life's oeuvre? Museum's entrance is every first Saturday of month free. Building is next to Lausanne Cathedral on top of old city where you get a stunning view over lake and mountains.

The staff were super friendly (and were willing to practice my French with me, even though it took a lot longer). I spent a couple hours, really looking at things (it's a small museum). When I was there the first exhibit was on perspective, and the second was on touch- which was a shared exhibit with another museum! The touch one was really cool because you so rarely get to touch anything in a museum. Lots of different textures. I think one of my favorite exhibits was about a man who records himself everyday, then listens to the tape for that day a year later (and records over it). The third floor was a glass exhibit, and it's always nice to look at glass. I'd definitely go here if you're visiting Lausanne!
