Ive been to places in Vegas that served French cuisine, I am now here in Paris and somehow someway ended up here by accident. Food and wines were superb, food was by far the best as it gets. Maybe I don't have much credentials in fine dining but I assure I do. I have friends of friends in Vegas that are chefs servers bartenders etc and I have been to many fine places. I will give this place 5 stars because of service first and foremost, food was quality and tasty. read more

We had dinner at Le Pachyderme République after a busy day exploring Paris. I ordered the fish and chips, while my husband chose the ravioli with truffle cream, ricotta, and spinach. The highlight of my meal was the French fries--fresh, crispy, and perfectly cooked. The fish was good, and the portion was generous. My husband's ravioli was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, with the truffle cream pairing nicely with the ricotta and spinach filling. The biggest downside was the service, which was quite slow throughout the meal. Also, on a very warm Paris evening, the lack of air conditioning made the dining room somewhat uncomfortable. Overall, the food was enjoyable, especially the ravioli, but the slow service and warm dining area kept the experience from being exceptional. Travellers beware... this place pulls every classic tourist-trap move you're warned about in Paris. They brought and opened bottled water before we could even ask for a "carafe d'eau," pretended not to speak English throughout dinner, then suddenly spoke perfect English when asking "cash or card" at the end of the meal. When we asked for a paper bill, we were told the printer didn't work, yet another waiter immediately said he could get one. They also added an unexplained €20 fee onto the final bill. The waiter still refused to provide a printed receipt, and eventually we just paid because we weren't about to spend the entire night arguing. Avoid at all costs. read more

This place is one of the many terrible restaurants in Paris. All cities have them. Unfortunately, we have to experience bad ones to find really good ones. To start off, our waiter was snooty. We weren't that hungry and only ordered two dishes: Buddha Bowl Green and Creamy Burrata. When I received the Creamy Burrata, I didn't see the "farro with grilled vegetables, pesto and strawberry," which was suppose to be part of the dish. I asked the waiter and he said it was the right dish. As for the "Buddha Bowl Green" salad, the texture of the kale was like thawed, previously frozen spinach. It was disgusting. When the bill arrived, we find out that the dish we were charged for was "Briouates feta and halloumi," not "Creamy Burrata." Either the waiter didn't know what the dishes look like or he was a.... Actually the fucking worst. Everything is so unreasonably overpriced and the entrees r so random. I got a salmon Buddha bowl which was actually disgusting like raw, chewy, un-sushi grade salmon that they initially forgot to bring out. For $18 euros. I could get a whole meal there somewhere else. The drinks we're actually ok. Also my friend ordered a vegan burger and they had cheese all over it was basically a mozarella stick in a burger bun. Hard pass as the food and service was below mediocre. Service was French/internationally slow and inattentive. Having to hunt down the waitress during her meal break to ask for a check while all other staff were behind the bar. The food was either overly seasoned (French onion soup that needed to be diluted with water as it was way too salty) or an omelet with ham, cheese, and potatoes inside??, lacked seasoning. The croque madame was burnt. Literally black and served to us but tried to hide the burn areas with the egg. Ordered mimosas which were incredibly small. Best thing to have is the included baguette which was the only real highlight. read more

Awfully rude, disrespectful and racist waiter. The ugly, bald one is the worse. All that hate, anger for what? Anyways, not worth the energy. I didn't order past appetizers bc of that. Subpar quality too. So I ordered the tab, several times, in which he kept ignoring. I lost my patience with that bs and walked out. Once he sees that, he runs Iike a beheaded chicken and had the nerve to bark at his coworker to "stop" me and to ring my bill. Not himself to do that...bc he couldn't bother do it much less apologize. I don't believe French are rude as whole, but these guys took the cake. Owners of this place should fire this guy before he loses more of your customers. Or not and keep getting bad reviews. Obviously I'm not the first one to make a negative review here. We were tired of traveling and decided to ignore bad reviews and come here. Big mistake. Stay away, just don't waste your time. read more

Le Pachyderme reminds you of a chain sit down place. Nothing about it is exceptional but nothing about it is particularly bad either. The food is all relatively decent and the servers are all friendly. If you are struggling to figure out where to eat and are looking for something easy nearby in Republique, you could do worse. read more

En plus ils ne se trompe pas sur notre commande! (Trompe d'éléphant! Hahahaha excellent) Maintenant le négatif, le pourquoi du comment du qui quoi quand où et donc or ni car de ces 3 étoiles! La carte annonce une salade XXL mais c'est plutôt du M, même si le prix est XXXXL, donc big déception! Je n'avais qu'une seule tranche de jambon dont plus de la moitié était du pur gras... Ensuite il n'y avait que quelques morceau de légume du soleil et beauuuucoup de salade simple... Comprenez que les 17 euros ne sont pas justifié.. Surtout que le goût n'est pas au rendez vous! The restaurant looked busy from the outside, so I figured I would try my luck despite the ratings. Ordered a glass of red, started with onion soup (it was cold!) and had the chicken tangine. Overall the meal was pleasant enough. Soup wasn't that great, but the tangine chicken was tender and well flavored even though it was a bit more sour than I liked. We wanted to get a quick bite to eat before we went to a nearby bar. We ran into this place, looked at the menu and decided it was worth a shot. We didn't even look at reviews, mainly because our cell phone service wasn't the best out there. First, our restaurant service on average in Paris was below average to say the least, so much so that we we received AMAZING service here we were shocked and thought something was going on. I had pretty low expectations when I saw the menu and read vietnamese style vermicelli bowl mixed with European food as I've never been a fan of fusion. Surprisingly though I had a great meal. We ordered the duck breasts w potatoes and charbroiled seabass with green beans, and they were delicious. The fish was flavorful and duck was perfectly cooked medium rare. To end the meal, we had creme Brulee and cafe creme. The creme Brulee was meh. However, all in all, I would recommend. read more

This is a solid choice for a decent meal. The atmosphere is pleasant, including a non-smoking dining room. I had the house steak (21€) and a side of risotto. The steak was a bit undercooked - more medium rare, but still quite nice. The risotto was another story - it was very good. It wasn't overwhelming, but excellent flavor and a nice side. Granted, matching it with a steak made for a heavy meal. The woman at the table next to me also had the risotto but mixed it with some sesame crusted ahi - looked great. My wife ordered the oddest thing - the Pachy Poulet (15€) sandwich. It looked more like a BLT with cucumbers, tomatoes, chicken and mayo on toast. It was paired with fries and a salad. It tasted more like a chicken salad with the heavy mayo. She was fine with it, but I would say better for lunch. Overall, I would describe this place as quality comfort food. The best comparison I can think of in the US would be Chili's-like, minus all the crap on the walls. They also had a large patio and lounge area. The patio was semi-protected from the street with large plants and a covering. It looked like a nice place for drinks and meeting large groups - it was quite large. read more

So three years after my first review, I now bring 5 or 6 people a week here from the startup ecosystem for coffee meetings. Sometimes a mixed experience depending on the server but generally positive overall. Several times the bill was under the 15€ limit for credit cards and the server would suggest to charge 15€ and give us the change. Tonight I needed to leave for a meeting and the person I was with offered to pay for our coffees. The server refused to take the card since it was 11€ and neither of us had cash. He told my friend to go down the street to the atm which is not a major problem, though his attitude was less than correct. However, he refused to let me leave and said someone had to stay to make sure the bill would get paid. Long story short, after pointing out the stupidity of his argument given we were actively trying to pay the bill, I left anyways and my friend stayed to eventually pay the bill with his credit card. The Pachyderme will no longer be hosting any of my meetings and I will be glad to explain why while we are grabbing a drink next door. I know you are always full so you won't care to lose all of those customers or to have a bad/worse reputation but I just wanted to share with you how your employee's offensive behaviour in an otherwise manageable situation lost you a loyal customer. read more

Terrible staff with terrible attitudes, especially to foreigners, this place is to be avoided at all cost. Don't let it being busy fool you, it is because of the location. When La Pachyderme goes the way of its' eponymous term, nobody will mourn its' extinction. Service was poor for the duration of our Sunday dinner. Nobody greeted us at the door and were only acknowledged after we approached the bartender. The food was the worst we had in any restaurant during our two week tour through France. We had the lamb knuckle, roasted goat cheese, french onion soup and the dumbo salad. The goat cheese was served on a cracker that seemed pulled out of a box from Monoprix and the cheese was forgettable. The french onion soup was no better than any I've had from chain restaurants in the States. The dumbo salad included shrimp that were the smallest we saw for entire stay in France; I'm sure they were frozen. The lamb knuckle was the only dish that was average but it did not salvage the meal. The bottle of Cote De Brouilly was fine. The music choices were notable in a comic way: Destiny's Child and House of Pain's "Jump Around" were included. L'addition couldn't have come soon enough. A poor way to finish our trip in France. We were in Paris for an expo and on a Tuesday night we found this place. One of us had heard of it before so gave it a go. We were lucky to get a table as many were reserved. It definitely seemed very popular with the French as only one other table was speaking English. We had a starter and main each. My starter was excellent, carpaccio on a bruschetta with pesto. My colleague had the warm goats salad. Both were excellent. We had steak and chips after that which was good, perhaps a little well done but very tender still. We did not have wine although they had a good range. It was a little more expensive that previous evenings but it definitely had a classy feel about the place and the waitress was excellent. read more

I am an American staying close to this restaurant and we stopped by for dinner and wine. We ordered a carafe of water (plat) and the server brought us a bottle of Evian (4.50) even though every other table with water had a carafe. We ordered the sea bass which was very overcooked and dry. The server did have manager come over who asked if we would like something else, but by that time we were pretty turned off. Bottom line--apparently if you aren't French don't expect the same service and if you're looking for a good meal this isn't the place to go. read more

Very disappointing experience at Restaurant Pachyderme in Paris. The sea bass was overcooked. The manager did offer to exchange it. I was not optimistic about a substitution so I declined. We ordered a demi carafe of water and the waiter brought us a small bottle of Evian for 4.50 euros. We noticed that many other tables had carafes. I cannt recommend this resaturant.
