But thankfully, Aly is the bomb. Not only is she a patient and skillful teacher, but we had so much fun with her. A class at Wine and Design would be perfect for work events, bachelorettes, date nights, and gifts to loved ones! Things to know: - Aprons are provided but definitely wear clothes that you wouldn't mind getting paint on! - Class offerings include regular classes, private events, kid events, and charitable events - Instructors are flexible! If there's something that you want to do differently in your design (we asked to add glow-in-the-dark paint to ours) - Open 7 days a week (Currently, 6 PM to 9 PM Monday through Friday, 1 PM to 9 PM Saturday, and 1 PM to 7 PM Sunday) - Location is downtown, so depending on the time of your class, pay the parking meter!

THE CLASS: Aside from the fact that these classes are so much fun, they are also hyper-localized (which I LOVE)! Everything about these classes screams local--from the teacher who leads the class, the coffee shop it's hosted at, the best friend duo that owns the business, and the art supplies they use. The teacher was kind, but not very effective at guiding the group. She also made some awkward jokes and would laugh at them herself, which made things feel a bit uncomfortable. When people needed help, she wasn't very responsive or useful. I've been to quite a few of these over the years, and this was by far the weakest instruction I've experienced. That said, shoutout to the woman working the bar--she was incredibly helpful and definitely helped salvage the experience!

BCC's Friday night painting parties are the best. After being introduced to BCC through a Yelp…read moreevent, I raved about how much fun we had so much that my friend insisted we go. I scored a good deal on Groupon, picked up a bottle of wine, and we headed to the studio on a Friday night. We got to use the airbrush and even spray paint on our master pieces this time. And, as always, Alex made the night fun, engaging, and creative, and we all ended up with a great painting of happy little trees to take home and brag about. Now, can I remember everything we did? Paint, scavenger hunt, paint, view a couple short videos of Alex's work (amazing), paint, roof view of Boise and foothills, paint, and adding a layer to the splatter paint room. Bring plenty of wine because it's going to be a long, fun evening.

The studio is awesome, but it was Alex & Mandy that made the night so much fun! The hours went by so fast, w/ drying times occupied by a scavenger hunt, adding our mark to the group paintings and a beer break. The evening ended w/ Alex's surprise piano solo! Though my husband had a bit of painting experience, my daughter & I hadn't ever done a painting. We were so surprised that we could end up with a real painting that we liked enough to display! We had so much fun and even my husband said he'd want to do it again! That is the ultimate endorsement!
