I read about this place through Yelp. It's on a quiet street. It's almost a dark street at night. It's near Fontaine de la Rotonde. We ordered two main dishes and a dessert. The Red Mullet (fish) w Mashed Tomatoes and Rice was excellent. The Chinese Noodles w Shrimps and Veggies was very good. It could have been less salty. But I ate it all. The Tiramisu was served in an ice cream sundae glass. It was also good. I just felt that it didn't have enough 'cake' or 'lady fingers' in it. Hard to tell which one it had. This is the second restaurant I've been to here in Aix-en-Provence. This is the best one so far.

Fantastic food in a recognisable French style, rather than the pseudo fusion and Italian influenced mainstream. Fun dining room, friendly and efficient staff and a cute Yorkshire terrier. Highly recommended

Life changing meal. The service was incredibly friendly. The foie gras, lamb leg confit and duck were all outstanding. Quintessential Provence. We loved this restaurant and hopefully will return!

A must visit should you feel hungry for Traditional French food. The Gambas poêleés is a must must have because it's that GOOD!

We stumbled upon Chez Nine after walking and enjoying the ambience of old town Aix, and we were grateful to be seated without a reservation. We ordered an aperitif (which we unfortunately did not receive, hence the 4 star rating) and received a complimentary sardine spread and small crackers. Tasty. We ordered a nice bottle of blended red that was recommended by the owner. My fiancé ordered the chèvre ravioli which was heaven on a plate. A rich, creamy, and cheesy blending of flavors and topped with fantastic prosciutto. If you want rich and decadent, look no further. I ordered a tagliatelle with chicken and a wonderful almond and cream sauce. There were small raisins in it that added a pop of sweetness in the richness of the cream sauce. Delightful. The dishes were fairly large, so we didn't end up ordering dessert. Highly recommended.

We got through two starters and mains but had no room left for dessert (if we are not counting liquers). The curry pasta (with apple) and the Notre Specialite were absolutely fantastic. We are half way through our two week honeymoon and this is the best meal we've had so far, bar none. If you are unsure of this location give this one a try. It happens to be one of the most well established restaurants in the area and culinary expertise/abience/servers make this a one of a kind.

The hummus is flavorful, and richly dressed with good olive oil; the owner didn't skimp on the pita bread, which was quite fresh. The tabouleh was tasty, but bulked up on a bed of forgettable lettuce. Sajna stocks the Lebanese beer Almarza (for a long time the only Lebanese beer); a delightful pilsner, probably the best Mediterranean beer I've tried. The takeaway carries over a little to the dine-in service --- we got wooden chairs with sequined pillows, but the food came on plastic trays with disposable silverware. Didn't affect the flavor at all, but perhaps not the most impressive place for a date. Didn't get a chance to try the pumpkin kibbeh; sounds interesting. Next time!

The store owner informed us that he was catering a wedding that day and would only sell us the food he had made for the wedding (there may have been something lost in translation). The food he gave us was delicious, but we would have loved to be able to explore the options. Vegetarians and vegans should consider this place if they are hungry.
