Was on a business trip to Sisteron and our colleague based about an hour away near Marseille arranged lodging for a team of 6. The hotel is located on a narrow and quintessentially (horrible Americanism, but you get it) "French" street and thoughtfully furnished - can I say old-modern? The hotel is in a very old building, and rooms are immaculate and modernly furnished. I should warn that there are a lot of narrow staircases to get into the hotel and to your room. I had to stay behind for a telecon while the team went to a team+team dinner. I let the owner know that I would like to have dinner in the restaurant at 9 - she said she would contact staff and have them there. My call went to 9:45 and when I got to the restaurant, the owner was literally lowering the storefront grate, but she said nothing in town would be open and slid the storefront grate back up, turned the heater on and graciously made a quiche dinner with salad while I waited drinking a glass of red wine. I took the dinner up to my room (w/ wine glass #2 !), and was still able to have a relaxing evening after a long business day. A dinner I will never forget. The morning presented fresh fruit and warm croissants and fresh bread, coffee, cereal & yogurt. I'd like to take my wife to Marseille, and back to spend a few days exploring Sisteron - if we do, we will stay at Le Patio de Sophie. read more
