I visited Désirée with a friend on an overcast Sunday in September 2020, in the late afternoon. We…read moremet up an hour or so before a show at the A la folie théâtre nearby, and decided to find a place to chat and get a snack beforehand. This café, which is attached to a cute flower shop, is very conveniently located a few steps from the Saint Ambroise métro station (Line 9). It was pretty empty when we arrived 3:45 PM. I ordered a cappuccino and a pear / honey cake, while my friend chose a fruit juice. The lady working at the café was friendly and brought us a pitcher of tap water along with our order. The cappuccino was made well and the cake was light and not too sweet, with some pear slices and crushed nuts and seeds sprinkled on top. The dustings of flower decorations were also a cute touch. The café had a very comfortable, cozy, and calm vibe. It was the perfect place to catch up with my friend, and I could easily have spent a few more hours there. I will definitely be back, maybe to check out the flower shop next time.
