I've never left a theme park feeling so wowed and in wonder than I have when leaving Puy Du Fou. And I barely even speak French! I would give it ten stars if I could. Being from Los Angeles and being so lucky to have experienced a lot in my lifetime, I'd say I have high expectations and Puy Du Fou far surpassed them! PARK: The park is clean with lots of nature and with many signs to clearly direct you. Each activity is numbered and makes it super easy to get around. SPECTACLES: I saw 6 shows and they were all incredible in their own right. Every time I thought I knew what was coming next, I was happily proven wrong with absolutely unexpected surprises. The stages are actual masterpieces, the music lovely, the stories interesting- and I'm not even a fan of historical things much! The shows did so well in evoking emotion too, you leave each show not wanting it to end. I also have to mention I was absolutely dazzled by the sheer size of some of the stages. Absolutely MASSIVE, blew my mind the thought and care put into every detail. *Tip: definitely stay for the last show of the night, Le Noces Du Fou (9pm) it happens once nightly and it's magical! ANIMALS: There are a lot of animals that are part of each show, especially horses, and I loved seeing the actors give the horses much love after each time they performed and treating them well. There's also a show with HUNDREDS of incredibly cool birds (including owls and eagles and more) that actually fly freely in the sky - BEYOND COOL! (And maybe my favorite show of all? Can't decide!) IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES: The immersive experiences are ones you can walk through at your own pace and they too were true perfection. So much attention to detail. Live actors as well you can interact with. VILLAGES: Each village has its own vibe and is fun to see. We got to see one and it felt very provincial town/beauty and the beast-esque. What's even cooler is there are boutiques that each have their own artisans, creating items just like back in the day. Think real leather bags, pottery, clay antiques, etc. The artisans are creating all day as onlookers can watch, and best of all they are independent with their own boutiques (money earned is theirs, not the parks). FAST FOOD: Inexpensive (compared to other theme parks) and good. Make sure you get some chichi (churros!) they were delish. (Speaking of inexpensive, no extra charge for parking your car!) It is about 4.5 stars theme park. This is theme park with multiple shows and no ride. We enjoy our time here. The theme park may need to use data from your cell phone for ease of finding thing in the park. You need to download their app will hep you in the park. The app will guide you walking directions, show time, restaurant orders, language translation for the show. You may want to bring the ear phone to listen to English translation live in the show. The theme park 6 main shows need to arrive 30 minutes early. So plan it carefully. They have total 19 shows. Some of the shows is continued all time. I will suggest the bird show (Le Bal Des Oiseaux Fantomes) should not be miss. I have never seen a bird show like this. The sky full of eagle and hawk roam free during feeding time. I suggest go in the park when they open. It will take the entire day. Bring backup batteries for your cell phone. You will need it. Download the app. The park walking time from one end to other is about 20 minutes but plan the walking to each site less than 5 minutes is important to catch the shows. An absolute gem and probably the best theme park I've ever been to. Everything, from the music, to the friendliness of the staff, to the accuracy of the surroundings and shows, is meant to evoke a pleasant day with friends or family, as opposed to the nightmare that "theme park visit" would evoke in most of our minds. read more

First: I write here about the night spectacle Cinéscénie, and not the Puy du Fou park and the different daily shows that can be found there. Second: it is closed now, since the show is held only in the summer months (we have been there in the past), but I write now about it because if you are interested, you must book well in advance. While the Puy du Fou park is similar to many others, the Cinéscénie spectacle is unique: 2,550 actors on a stage spread over 23 hectares and 28,000 costumes. It's a wonderful, involving, 1 and a half hours spectacle on the French history from the Middle Ages to the Second World War. With excellent music and sound system, fireworks, and each year new technological innovations are added. The show is held only on Friday and Saturday evening (but it's always better to check the dates on the web-site) and it is not very easy to reach this area, between Nantes, Angers, Poitiers and La Rochelles, but if you have in mind to spend a few days on holiday in France, I invite you to try to include it! read more

There are not enough words to adequately describe how amazing this place is. Every show is a masterpiece, every actor and actress perfect in their role. It is easy to see how one show has been officially awarded Best Show In The World both years that it has been running. The Staff are friendly and attentive. I am a wheelchair user and was accommodated throughout our time there The attention to detail is incredible, and it pains me to say this as a dedicated fan of Disneyland, but Disney is so outclassed by Le Puy Du Fou that I actually feel bad for Disney, they just cannot compete. The hotels are also incredible, the different themes are so perfectly set that you can honestly imagine that you are in a medieval castle, or a Roman villa etc. Just fantastic. The food is also varied and wonderful. We had a problem caused by their online ticket office not doing their job properly, but staff at the park sorted it out for us eventually, they were incredibly helpful and although we had to go to one office after another, we were more than happy with the effort the park staff put into helping us. . This was the only problem we encountered, making us believe the online office staff are not diligent or need more training. Despite this we had an incredible time, and are already planning our return trip with more family members. read more

This place is amazing!! It's a historical theme park. A lot of different plays that re-enacts France's history. About 13 different plays? From King Arthur and the knights of the round table, to Joan of arc, to the 3 musketeers, to the Vikings, to even the gladiator. Each show has its own location within the park and each set is amazing. Really makes you feel like you're there. I think people who travel to France should come here at least for a day. I don't think you'll regret it. If you want to see all the shows, I suggest you come early. Each show plays at different time. Large park, so you might want to wear some tennis shoes. 5/10 Attractions: 2/5 Puy du Fou is what tries to be an authentic medieval french theme park. Unfortunately, it advertises itself to be more than it is and the majority of the activities are either recent modern events or completely outside like the Roman coliseum. When a description says it's a exciting cloak and dagger adventure, it's practically just a 8 minute dance with horses. Almost all descriptions describe the activities to be more than they are. Next, the activities and places are very foreigner unfriendly. Audio guides are available, yet they are bulky and the static is often louder than the voice. Not to mention that most places are not audio guide supported. Fortunately, a few attractions have incredible actors and performances making up for the other travesties. Some actors are great and even without audio guides, their actions are understood. My warning to all of you is the heavy religious bias in their main attraction, the coliseum. If you are not christian or know a thing or two about Roman history this can be rather unlikable. I am both and when I watched it I was bothered in how the heroine called polytheism fake because it had multiple gods, how she warded away evil with the power of Jesus, and how she claimed all Christians are good and kind because they have done nothing wrong. Nothing against Christianity, I just feel terrible to anyone who isn't christian in the audience. Overall due to the lack of support to foreigners and the biased attraction, I feel it deserves a 2. Food: 3/5 The first restaraunt we went to was rather good. They gave you a choice of selections and although it was rather costly, it was above average for a theme park. However, some places are atrocities, especially the ones in park. Having 5 euro sandwiches called classique sandwiches are just bread, one slice of ham and butter. Unfortunately again there is foreigner unfriendliness. Many places had noone to cater for English speakers though most did. However there are many good restaraunts so I think this deserves a 3. Room: 4/5 standard old room, decent beds, decent decorations, etc. Nothing totally out of the ordinary. Above average so I'd give it a 4 Overall 5/10 From a foreigner's perspective, this is a good attraction and theme park, yet hindered by the lack of support for the customers. If they had proper support these would get a four or 5 star. read more
