I went to this spot when I traveled to Paris, and I'm so glad I stopped by. It was a good experience overall. The place gets super busy and has a long line, so come hungry and be prepared to wait. Bring an umbrella if it's raining, it gets cold! I liked this spot, but they do give a bit of attitude to Americans, lol. When I asked for my steak well done, the waiter gave me a look and said something in French I didn't understand... hence the minus one star. I think they eat steak rare to medium rare so well done was definitely a judged choice but I didn't care, I will choose what makes me happy (so travelers just be aware of that). They don't give you a menu or explain what's happening, hence deducted another star. It's basically steak and fries, so i went with that. The steak and fries were so decent, and that green sauce was good and the wine I paired it with was good as well. I also had their dessert (profiteroles, I believe it's called, it's little pastry puffs with ice cream inside topped with chocolate), and after a long day of traveling from Oxford to Paris, I was hungry and it was a good indulgence overall. This place was all over TikTok and for a good reason! The portions were generous (we even got refill for both steak and fries), the meat was tender and I still dream about their peppercorn sauce! Fries were fresh and crispy. The atmosphere resembles that of a classic French bistro with friendly and fast service. We went to the location in the 14th district and didn't have to wait, so I recommend skipping the OG location in the center of the city. Definitely one of the favourite meals of my trip! read more

This is a popular steakhouse in Paris, so expect a long queue. We arrived around 10 pm and saw a long line of people waiting to be seated. Luckily, we were able to cut the wait time in half when an outdoor table opened up. There is no menu and it's expected that you're there for the steak frites. They will ask if you want wine, how you like your steak cooked, and if you would like dessert. The salad comes first as an appetizer and is quite simple with some dressing. Next came the first serving of steak frites. Then, the waitresses will bring out the second serving once they see that you're finished. I had a good time eating the steak frites, both the steak and fries were pretty good. The steak included their green sauce, which was a tasteful addition to the dish. The portion size was perfect as well and the price was affordable. The only negative part of my dining experience here was the long wait for service. Mixed feelings about this place; on one hand it definitely is a tourist destination which results in a super long wait but on the other the steak frites were great with a really delicious green sauce. We waited about an hour and a half in line to get seated. There isn't really a menu or explanation of the meal when sitting down but you get a salad and two servings of steak frites. We ordered a bottle of wine which was nice with the steak. The salad was a nice starter, some kind of horseradish dressing, nothing crazy. The steak itself is good but the star of the show is the green sauce on the steak. I'm not sure exactly what the sauce is but it was amazing. Delicious on the steak and perfect to mop up with the very crisp and well cooked fries. We ordered medium rare steak but our first order was definitely a bit over so for the second we asked for rare which was much better. Really old school looking restaurant, fun ambiance and relatively quick service. The meal was a bit pricey but not unreasonable. I was a little skeptical but not disappointed at all! I went by myself and got there around 6pm and was 3-4 in line. The staff was surprisingly friendly, greeting me, asking me what I wanted, and moving tables for me. The steak was a little tough (I got medium) and I cannot for the life of me figure out the sauce. It was herby but not cilantro or basil or anything I could make out! I had an enormous creme brûlée for dessert and the fries were exceptional! My service was very fast and friendly however the table next to me ticked off the waitress when one of them wanted to only have dessert. Everyone in your party must order dinner apparently. It's overhyped, in reality. It opened at 6:45pm and due to the hype, I got in line at 5:30pm and was 5th in line. Over time, the line wrapped around the block. The waitresses wear French maid clothes, and process you like cattle. It's very snappy. They set the menu down for you to look at drinks but pick it back up in a hurry then scribble the number of orders in crayon on your paper tablecloth. I recommend kids under 8 just split one adult order, anyway you have zero other choices. Soon they rush back with bread and salads, your first course. The Salad: some kind of mustard vinaigrette that will trigger your sinuses and is teetering on unpleasant. Kids did not like this salad as it was "too spicy". On a hot summer day in June, it caused us to have a runny nose the rest of dinner. Serving 1 Ribeye: you get about 5 slices of ribeye in what you might think is gravy, and some fries. The fries are good, but not stand-in-line good. The sauce is more like an herby concoction of the steak juices with a very bitter finish. Not chimichurri or pesto herby, just watery, brown, slightly savory and confusingly bitter. Serving 2 Ribeye: now in less ceremony, they have a giant platter of fries and ribeye slices and just start raking them onto people's plates as their final serving. This time they have me 3-4 steak slices and two tongs of fries. That's it. It's over. I wouldn't come back. read more

When I came to Paris 8 years ago I did not get to eat here for various reasons despite seeing my favorite YouTuber eat here and wanting to try it so badly. Finally, in 2024, I was staying nearby to this location and got to give them a try. Thanks to social media, there is always a line but it did move fairly quickly. Now the food is really closer to 3 stars but the staff and overall ambiance are so French that I feel like 4 stars is ok. For what it is though, a steak restaurant, it's just ok. You get "two" portions of steak and fries cooked to your liking but the medium I got was kind of chewy. You certainly get a lot of fries but very little meat. The first portion was 5 slices and the second was 4. The sauce is good but not the most flavorful. Salad and bread t nice. A half bottle of wine will also not cost an arm and a leg. Overhyped. Let me start by saying I love steak. I don't think this place is a steak lovers dream but it's not terrible. The sauce itself was good but it was lacking salt and richness. Almost reminds me of a light curry sauce. The steak quality wasn't the best. Lacked tenderness and fat content but definitely had a beefy flavor. Fries were good drenched in the sauce. Nice and crispy. Portion size was decent. I'd say they give you an 8 ounce portion with a lot of fries. You'll get full if you eat it all. They serve half the portion and when you're finished or close to being finished, they refill you with the next portion. They don't serve any other entrees btw. They'll simply ask you how you want it cooked and bring a salad before the entree. For 29 euros, I wouldn't come back. It's worth 15-20 euro imo. read more

Such a fun experience here! And a funny story - we walked up on the main street and made eye contact with a waitress. Given my french is meh, I motioned 2 fingers and pointed toward an empty table outside. She nodded and motioned in that direction so we sat down. When she came over, she said, OH! You sat down! I said, Oh, I'm sorry, did I misunderstand?? And she was like, it's fine and proceeded with our order. What I didn't know until 10 minutes later when the line wrapped around past our table was that there were already people waiting in line at the MAIN entrance!! We totally skipped without knowing! My husband on the other hand thought this was the coolest place and still talks about it weekly. He loves that they stick to one thing and they do it well. Star restaurant on social media and pretty much deserves the acclaim. There is always a long line so our party of three showed up 30 minutes before the dinner service. We were seated at what we thought was about the best table downstairs. It probably helped that we speak French, we were dressed up for a fancy meal, and my wife and her cousin know how to smile sweetly. No surprises about what to order as this is a prix fixe set menu restaurant. Helpful hint: Hope you like beef if you decide to go! I I worked up the nerve to order a bottle of Ch. Victoria haut medoc cru bourgeois 2019. We don't drink much, but why not. The wine was as it should be and the price unbeatable. We (i.e. I) polished off the bottle and I did not need help walking back to our place. Helpful Hint: Order this bottle unless you go to the restaurant by yourself. The same wine by the glass is a younger vintage. Our waitress was a real gem. Given the crush of customers this has got to be a really exhausting place to work. Helpful hint: Leave a small tip. Everybody likes to be appreciated for being good at their job. We were given a huge amount of extra steak and fries towards the end of our meal. If only we were 20 years younger when our appetites were bigger. Delicious but for a moment I thought I was in an eating contest with Joey Chestnut. (New Yorkers know what I mean.) This is a Paris landmark. Lines could be long; one suggestion is to go to a location away from Champs Élysées. We went to the St. Germain location and were there before the restaurant opened so we got seated quickly. They start with a simple salad with French dressing. followed by a serving of steak, Cut into strips along with french fries. Steak gets coated with a mushroom sauce. You will then get a second serving. These are French servings, adequate, but will not stuff you. Ketchup is banned from the place but that's OK. Ok so they have a few locations throughout Paris as well as a few "imitations" in France and other parts of the world (I tried this dish at a French restaurant in Shanghai). Anyway what's the deal with this place? Well basically you walk in, sit down and get asked what you'd like to drink and how you'd like your meat cooked....that's it. No further questions! Some moments later, you'll receive your drink, a basket of bread and a small salad to keep you entertained as you await your delicious feast. I ordered mine medium and received tender grilled meat with a refreshing butter sauce and homemade fries - it was excellent! Then of course I finished my meat, asked for extra sauce and had my second helping (you get two portions). Service is quick but PLEASE don't ask for ketchup lol...this is a French restaurant, they won't have it! Prices are somewhat on the higher end but you definitely get a good cut of meat for your money. The ONLY reason I'm not giving this place 5/5 is because my boyfriend recreated this sauce and made just two small alterations....and my oh my is it heaven! So I prefer his just a teeny tiny bit more. Also, I think the meat might taste a smidge better if they sauteed it instead of grilling it....but that's just me being picky/my preference. PLEASE DO GO! We decided to come here for lunch because it was recommended by a lot of people online. We got there and were seated quickly, and promptly were served salads and bread. The salad was just ok. We were then served two rounds of steak frites. The best part of the dish was the fries. They were pretty fresh and hot. However, the steak was not anything special, and we received a total of 6 small pieces throughout the 2 rounds. There was leftover steak on the pans they just left on the burner. I loved the steak and frites here so much. The steak was so tender and the sauce goes so perfectly with it. It's amazing really. The restaurant really only serves steak, fries, salad, cheese, desserts, and wine. The salad and bread comes out first, then you get your first portion of steak and fries, then you get your second portion of steak and fries, and if you wish, dessert. I loved every minute of this. I knew there was a second portion, but it still came as a pleasant surprise. For a restaurant known for its steak frites, I was a bit disappointed by the steak. I ordered my steak rare, as medium rare was not an option; my steak came out blue rare. Unfortunately the seven pieces of meat I got were pretty tough although had a nice flavor. The fries were hot and fresh. Combined with the steak sauce, they were quite possibly the best tasting fries I've had. As other reviews have pointed out, the salad was pretty sad. It was good, but the lettuce was soggy. On my birthday trip/vacation we went on a daily food journey and at Le Relais L Entrecôte was one of the establishments along the way. This was by far the simplest place to order anything since, there is only one meal selection the only other choices you must make is what temperature would you like your steak cooked, red or white wine and perhaps if you still have room, what would you like for dessert. We decided on well done, and red wine. Then the walnut salad with mustard dressing arrived first and complementary bread. Followed by our wine then our first, then followed by our second helping of steak and fries. Our meal was really good. The green secret steak sauce is the showcase here. The restaurant is pretty and the staff is not exactly warm, nor cold. I want to say, they have the get to the point and keep it this moving demeanor lol but they are not bad. On my trip to Paris this was another must go to places on my list. Prior to coming i read up on the establishment so i knew what to expect. They only serve one meal which is steak with frites and salad. The only question the waiter will ask you is how do you like your steak, what would you like to drink and if you would like dessert. The staff was friendlier than what i thought they would be so that made the experience even better. The steak comes with this special green sauce they have which was very delicious and the frites were fresh with a nice little crunch. I did not come for the salad but it definitely served it's purpose leading up to the main attraction. Waited in line for 45 min and then we sat down, no menu, waitress brought us salad and bread, then 5 minutes later brought out the steak and fries with gravy. When we were done, she told us there's another plate coming and we were like whaaaaattttt. For under 30€, you get a small salad (nothing to write home about), sourdough baguette (ditto), and the star of the show, a hefty portion of sliced "rib steak" with green peppercorn sauce (delish!!), and bottomless fries (perfectly crisp and golden). The ordering process is simple: you tell the server how you want your steak (I ordered "à point" and it came out medium to medium rare) and which beverage you would like. They bring out half of your steak and leave the other half to warm in a chafing dish on a nearby table until you finish the first half. The fries are some of the best I've ever had. I had to stop myself from asking for more once I finished off my initial (generous) portion! We went around 7:30pm on a weeknight and there was no wait, but I hear the line can get long at peak times. One of our favorite meals in Paris and one of the best deals as well!
